I think this is a hard region to get in, a lot of teams play up two or even three divisions, but I think it is not as powerful as 17 or 18. I think it will be a favorable region for WCAL teams that can make it in.

I dont know anyone at Norwayne that thinks that. Everyone at Norwayne believes that this will be the hardest test that we've had to date. If you're not from either school I guess you might not get it. This is shaping up to be one of the best rivalries in the WCAL. The school systems border each other and a lot of these kids are neighbors. All we've heard at Norwayne for the last year is how Smithville wants to put us in our place. I know several of Smithvilles players parents. I've been told countless times that beating Norwayne has been Smithvilles #1 goal. Believe me when I tell you that no one at Norwayne is going to underestimate or look beyond the Smithies. We are expecting a battle and believe that's what we will get.
I haven't really seen anyone saying Norwayne is looking past Smithville. Honestly, this Norwayne team is 5-0 in the WCAL, and Smithville is 4-1 in the WCAL, and the one team they lost against is an opponent Norwayne hasn't faced yet. All common opponents in the WCAL have been scored on at will by these two teams.

I think the defense is what separates the two. Smithville hasn't looked nearly as smothering on D as Norwayne.

But this game has a lot of tradition behind it, and yo can't discount that. I believe this matchup has the longest winning streak in WCAL history, so there is a healthy expectation for a game like this.

I hope the Smithies' D can hang with the the Bobcats' high-powered offense. If they can, I think it will be a good game.

Hard to believe that in week 9 there are still 6 unbeaten teams in region 19 ( also 6 in DIII R12 ) and 50 unbeatens overall with 15 in D5, 12 in D3. Right now the worst records in the top 8 spots in Regions, are 6-2 in D1, 5-3 in D5, 4-3 in D3 , and 4-4 records in D2, D4, and D6 all still in the chase.

If yo see penis, then you're looking for it. Got some closet doors to open, beast? :D

    You've never met my wife.

Also, I would NEVER get drunk on IPAs. If I'm drinking to get drunk, I'll go much, much cheaper.

you are clearly puffing on someones.......not a cigar.

What's wrong with an Ashland County team in the WCAL? I mean that'd be like having more than 10 teams in the Big 10! ;)

They have more right because they're already in it. Possession of a current spot ... isn't possession 9/10ths of the law?

And I've never smoked anything but tobacco (cigar or pipe).

Hope the Bears can stop the NW pass. If not, they have a very long night.
Smithville just doesn't have enough weapons and loses to Norwyane by 21.
Hillsdale - Rittman; no comment necessary
Dalton gets a win over Chippewa by 3-6 points

Have not sounded off since last week....lol. Was great meeting Go Falcons at the game last week. Hearing him tell the Cop vs Bell story was a lot better in person.

This week should be fun. I believe with it being last home game for NWN, the Bears are in for a long night. Perfect football weather will make for some good playing. PM me if you want to chat at the game. I will be more than ready. I will say this about NWN, with the talent on that field, the playbook has to change to take advantage of it. The 2nd half of the Hillsdale game was a different game for NWN. Playbook opened up in second half, as did opportunity. Take away that horrible first qtr, different ball game for the rest of night.

    Go Huskies!

I agree, if somebody gets in the chances for playoff advancement are greater, but if you can't qualify it doesn't matter.
I'm hoping next year brings a stronger WCAL and the points are there for a team from the WCAL to get in at 7-3 or 8-2.

No one has called Miyagi today 330-263-1006.......guess Miyagi is going to have to talk Bloody,s wife into letting him go out .....Red , Miyagi needs you to go to be a buffer between him and Bloody, Miyagi would rather not go with that O'Hooligan guy but if he has to he has to

Miyagi thinks Bobcats win this one....... the next week is a little different.....Miyagi thinks Hillsdale always plays just good enough to win no matter what level of talent they are playing against.....that will keep them in this game....for a while anyways....what a way to end the WCAL season

I was talking to OQB about how much I enjoy oldsmithie's 5:30 am daily check in and then yesterday, there wasn't one. I can't tell you how much better I felt when I was sitting on the crapper at 6:30 to find that he was back. Keep doing that, oldsmithie, you have become part of my "constitution".

So, looks like a few good games in the WCAL for week 9, but us outsiders are REALLY getting pumped for week 10 results. One game at a time, though...........and that's why you play the games......right Ringz?

Umm... I wouldn't want to mess with Wynford or Nelsonville. I'm not so sure you won't see one of those two teams in week 15.

Don't get me wrong, both are good teams, but I believe as a whole it is a more level group.

I realize you're the "actual adult, low key, don't rub it in" Norwayne poster and I appreciate that, but almost everyone picking Norwayne (whether in blowout fashion or close game) isn't really slamming Smithville. Norwayne is the favorite, they've played a tougher ooc schedule and they have looked very dominant rolling to an 8-0 record. Nothing odd about it that I can see.
I guess being from lowly old Northwestern, I just don't understand:cry:

What do you mean "Lucky". Don't tell me you are interested in a Red Miyagi Wax on or Wax off?

I'd rather get a questionable massage than solicit the services of a guy who refers to himself as "fun" and "hung so low." That's not what I'm going for.

I'll give you that one. To think he is soliciting blind dates for football games!

even though on paper norwayne might have more talent then smithville i think the smithies will be able to hang in there just fine to get a win. i talked to a few smithie players and they said they have been waiting for this game for a long time. In this game i think talent is somewhat thrown out the window and it comes down to who is tougher!.. the smithies or the bobcats? we will find out!
  • THE4RINGZ
Smithville uses those monsters up front to control the tempo of the game, Norwayne has their D on the field in the fourth quarter and they get winded.
  • jjhacker
i wonder who saw norwayne play western reserve becase theres nothing smithviile can do that they didnt do

if you cover the pass wallace or the zimmerlys boys will run over the d but if you put 8 in the box wallace will shred you thru the air

oh and the defense has given up under 7 points per game yeah 6 - 2 cvca only scored 7 points and 5 - 3 reserve only scored 7 and 5 - 3 wellington didnt score at all

i know the players are supposed to prepare like its thhe superbowl every week n im sure they are but on here we can be real the smitties will be the best team the bobcats have played so far but not close to good enuff to beat them this isnt youre grampas wcal this is 2011

i stand by my perdiction bobcats win by 5 tds or more SMITHVILLE JUST CANT HANG WITH THE CATS

I get accused of living in the past (Paul) but if you really want to learn football, that, is where you start. In 2003 Waynedale had beaten Dalton 40-0, the next week Dalton beats Smithville 22-20. Everybody thought Smithville had no chance of winning at Waynedale. Schrock had players injured and Smithville was a 3 touchdown underdog. Schrock went with a ball control offense and won that game with a 98 yd drive, scoring in the last seconds.
Those of us who know our history remember that the league ended in a three way tie that season. Never say never!
What are those pieces? Whom do you think will succeed him?

not trying to solicit a blind date....just trying to meet up with some of these internet guys that Miyagi talks football with all week......try to make a nice gesture and just get made fun of....thats all right Miyagi can take it.....just dont ask any favors from Miyagi in the future

post script...Hillsdale shouldnt even be in the WCAL

    I have to wonder,

Are Paul and JJHacker the same kid? or do they just repeat each others posts?
