Hoover's Erick Howard Named Mr. Football
-
GoChiefsThat is surprising..don't agree with that one at all.
-
ZWICK 4 PREZU serious Clark? 6.5 a carry is Mr. Football worthy?
-
Mooney44CardsProof positive that this award has lost all its luster.
-
coyotes22This is the best thing I have heard all day!!! LMAO
I can not wait for BAC's response!!!! -
J-DoverWOW is right, Mooney44-your boy had my vote. They didn't even mention him in article...WTF
-
GoChiefsCan't believe BAC wasn't the one that started the thread! Figured he'd be at his computer all day waiting for the announcement!
-
ridgerunner88I know Maty Mauk is only a sophmore, but maxpreps has him as the 3rd leading passer in the nation. No other Ohio player is even on the national radar. I thought they'd almost have to give it to him.

He may have smashed his computer.GoChiefs wrote: Can't believe BAC wasn't the one that started the thread! Figured he'd be at his computer all day waiting for the announcement! -
skank
6.5? He only averaged 2.6. Oh, sorry, that was against Massillon only.ZWICK 4 PREZ wrote: U serious Clark? 6.5 a carry is Mr. Football worthy? -

When you have like 200-250 more attempts than the guy behind you, its really not as impressive to have such numbers.ridgerunner88 wrote: I know Maty Mauk is only a sophmore, but maxpreps has him as the 3rd leading passer in the nation. SQ_CraziesFurther proof that this award has been a joke for more than a few years now.
-
J-DoverWhat's the track record for our MR FOOTBALL players of the past, college and beyond? Not jail time, although I'm sure that'll come up too.

Maty Mauk is a very impressive young man. -
SQ_Crazies^He'll get his. This award will almost never go to a sophomore, although he was more deserving than the winner.
Again, no shot on Howard. We might as well congratulate the kid. He put up some impressive numbers in his own right and he's been rewarded for his talents. He's a good player, just don't think he's Mr. Ohio. Didn't think he was last year and definitely don't think he is this year. -
J-DoverPercy Gardner-2006 Dover-had very similar stats and was not in the running. GL to him next year.
-
d.woods50fan.No disrespect but cant remember last time winner was legit "best player" or "mr. football" but this is no surpise since the winner usually goes to OSU and makes their recuiting class look better !!! Article above states osu is on his list !!!
-
ridgerunner88^^^^^^^
Just like the Hiesman -
SQ_CraziesOSU may be on his list, but as far as I know they have no offered him a scholarship and I'll be VERY, VERY, VERY surprised if they do.
-
d.woods50fan.anyone have a link to mr. football past winners?
-
SQ_CraziesIMO, the last 5 have been BS. The 4 before that, Sutton, Williams, Mauk and Clarett were legit.
-
