Orrville Red Rider Football 2011

• 5knots
Sounds like another tough week one! Can't wait.

I'm amazingly confident for what's in store in 2011.

5knots sent me this....thought I'd share. Chase Hoober is currently listed as the starting linebacker on IU's depth chart.

The other 2 starting LB's are seniors and Chase's backup is a junior. Speaks to his ability.

He's got a real chance to be a 4 year starting Big10 linebacker.

thanks for posting that RedRider1. I'm not savvy enough on the keyboard. That is awesome for Chase and the Red Rider program. RedRider1.....My sons and I thought exactly the same thing when we saw Chase in the Big33. Not only was he deserving of being there....he was the best LB on the field...on either side!
• Old Rider
Indiana got a steal with Chase. Ohio State missed the boat...lets hope they don't miss the boat on our next LB!
• OQB
EVERYONE who didn't offer him missed the boat.....Chase is great football player, physically and mentally.

The talent level in Ohio for 2012 is loaded. Ohio State only has 15 scholarships available as of right now. They are going to have to watch the rest of the Big Ten pull these kids away just because of sheer numbers. It is just one of those small classes for the bucks this year.
• OQB
Atleast they don't do what the SEC does and oversign players.....that's a whole other issue.

Bill Dennis is back as a football coach in the area with Rittman. His wife is from Orrville, but I can't remember her last name. Does anyone know ?
• OQB
^^interesting hire....has he been down at new London or wherever he went after WH this entire time?

My favorite coach Dennis game, I was in 8th grade at the time...his son throws a slant pass we pick it off and run it back for a touchdown...they get the ball back, same slant pass called and we intercept it again and take it back for a touchdown. I believe that was the last time we put 63 points on the board....Haha my dad and I were cracking up at the play calling.

One of my favorite Coach Dennis games was against Wooster where he called a Shotgun QB Sweep 6 or 7 times for -50 some yards. His kid looked like he was going to kill him.
• OQB
Yeah, I'm sure he isa nice man and all...but when it comes down to football, Idk I just think he isn't the brightest. When he was at WH, and had his son at QB, you could tell he was trying to make him into a Ben Mauk type of player and in the same offense...but his son wasn't Ben Mauk lol. He always seemed to have 3-4 plays and that is all he would run (note: they didn't work).

Oswald was her name. Good for him. I think Besancon has that program headed in the right direction, he should do fine.

OQB...Bill Dennis was at London High School near Columbus most recently.

He also was a Coach at Trotwood Madison. He brought his players in for a 7 on 7 my senior year and we (Orrville players) had to provide our own beds for the team to sleep in as Trotwood had another scrimmage scheduled the following day and Coach Dennis was saving the program some money I guess. It made for an interesting evening of getting to know these guys right after we beat em bad in the scrimmage!

I think he will do fine. Im just not sure a spread offense will EVER work in Rittman.
• OQB
I knew he was down there at some "London" school Haha thanks.

He has another son that is Q-B material and daughter who is supposed to be a good athlete. Hasn't had a great overall record, but has character and is a good guy. He's going to be Dean of Students.

He had 13 assistants?

My favorite Dennis story is when WH played Dover in the first game of his tenure. The final was 70-13 and it was like 50 something to nothing at the half. The Knights scored midway through the third to cut the lead to 40 points and he was running up and down the sidelines jumping up and down trying to fire the crowd up. We (the fans) just looked at him like "really".
• OQB
haha..his son went to Morehead St. to play football. I am not sure if he actually played though...I'd have to look that up.

When was he the Orrville Offensive Coordinator?
• BRF
Look at you, OQB! You a real playa on the OC to get your name changed! Congrats! You got POWER!

Good luck to Coach Dennis and thanks for all the old stories that I had forgotten about.
• OQB
Haha, Well everyone calls me OQB so I thought might as well shorten my name to it and make it easier for everyone. It's grown on me :D
• RedRider1
Nice package hire for Rittman. Tyler will be an assistant, and the younger son will play.

Will he be the focal point of the offense like Tyler was?

I seem to remember the West Holmes folk not liking the coach too well...lots of nepotism cries if memory serves.

OQB,
Who will be the next to shorten their name to 3 characters? RR1?

Orrville junior middle linebacker Mason Monheim added an offer from Miami (Ohio) last weekend, according to Orrville coach Doug Davault.

Monheim, who is 6-foot-1 and 215 pounds, also has an offer from Illinois .
• BRF
RR1: Do it! :-)
Also, your memory and mine match up on the "nepotism" thing.
• OQB
I kinda like that RR1....lol but it's not you....Gotta have the Red Rider in there.
• BRF
How about S62 with no avatar? Ha ha!....as we say.

So now the word is out: MM at 6'1" and 215.
• OQB
series should change his name to [email protected] he can remember DQ closes at 9 :D

I have 2 big things that really irritate me when I am at work:
Rude people that treat you like crap.
People that come right as we're closing...

I think everyone should have to work one day at a fast food place so they realize how people treat the workers....it would blow your mind away!

Makes you a better person though. lol
