Is it time for private schools to have theyre own playoffs in football

I'd be willing to bet that if we looked closer at the rosters at MOST of these parochial schools we'd find out that this is pretty much standard operating procedure....Especially St. Edward and St. Ignatius.
Then go ahead and prove it, otherwise, shut-up -

Do you ever get tired of just randomly throwing your own poop against the wall hoping something will stick? You're like a friggin chimpanzee, dude. :rolleyes:skank;828485 wrote:And I'm quite sure a free private school education. -

Why if? I would encourage you to take a closer look. If you complete this process I'll take the bet. -

Prove it? Didn't St. Edward JUST get busted for illegally targeting young athletes with letters? -

This is where you're wrong, it IS NOT within the rules for Massillon. But being fined a buck fifty for targeting players tends to make one believe it is within the rules for parochials. -
skankHeretic;829101 wrote:If you added enough pages to that tally to include every single one of them, you'd collect all of Skank's similar posts concerning private schools.
And yet with all the proof, you and the parochial 7 still deny it. Funny. -

My poop has a nice corn based texture, it has stuck to the wall more than you care to admit. -

It isn't within the rules for kids to transfer to Massillon? If the private schools were doing some of the things that Massillon does, we all know you would complaining. -
footballnutEveryone knows that the parochials recruit players and so do alot of other big schools. Players are constantly moving from one school to the next. The problem is definitely getting bigger. The real problem is when the smaller division public schools have to try to compete with the parochial schools in tier division..... ie Ursuline. How does a school with 200 male students compete with a parochial school that's recruiting. It's much more difficult for the small schools.

The demise of the Youngstown City School system has had more to do with Ursuline's success than recruiting. Ursuline's kids come from the city of Youngstown or the parochial feeder schools. Twenty years ago there were 5 public schools in Youngstown that had football. This fall, there will only be 1. Urusline only became a state power every year about four years ago. It happened at the same time that Chaney football fell apart. It will be sad to see Chaney not have football. As Youngstown cut down from 5 public schools to 2, the kids had to go somewhere. The gang situation has become extremely bad in the public schools as they combine and put rival gangs in the same schools. -

How does that prove they're getting a "free parochial education?"skank;829468 wrote:Prove it? Didn't St. Edward JUST get busted for illegally targeting young athletes with letters?
If they were fined, then it's probably not "within the rules." :rolleyes:skank;829471 wrote:This is where you're wrong, it IS NOT within the rules for Massillon. But being fined a buck fifty for targeting players tends to make one believe it is within the rules for parochials.
May I be so bold as to recommend a remedial logic class? I'm sure the local community college offers reasonable prices. -

If you murder someone for cutting you off in traffic and get sentenced to 3 days in the county jail, ya think the next guy that cuts you off is gonna get killed? I do. -

IF? IF? Haha, he said IF everybody. Hahahaha. "If the private schools were doing some of the things that Massillon does". IF.
That's a real knee slapper there buddy. -

So you would OK if St. Ed's had a partnership with a corporate sponsor to run a combine and maybe bring in a few kids?
You are complaining about St. Ed's having a kid transfer in from PA, but you would OK with them bringing in a kid from across the country?
You want one set of rules for Massillon and one set of rules for everyone else. If you think it is wrong for a kid to transfer and be eligible, that is an understandable stance to take, but you come off as a hypocrite when you criticize other schools for taking transfers but excuse the actions of your school taking transfers. -

Then I'd be guilty of breaking the rules for the second time. You're confusing the size of the penalty with the finding of guilt. It's two separate issues.skank;830075 wrote:If you murder someone for cutting you off in traffic and get sentenced to 3 days in the county jail, ya think the next guy that cuts you off is gonna get killed? If it was "within the rules for parochial schools," then the OHSAA wouldn't have penalized them at all. Get it? The fact that the punishment doesn't meet with your approval is irrelevant. -

Don't forget to congratulate St. Edward for taking an interest in his present. -

It goes without saying that a Catholic school always takes an interest in their students. That fact is as close to a sure thing as you will find Skank my friend.skank;830437 wrote:Don't forget to congratulate St. Edward for taking an interest in his present. -

Education....Education....Make sure you add the word, EDUCATION after the word STUDENTS from now on. Just sounds creepy when you put it like you did.
But seriously, I realize that, and I agree, they just take a little MORE of an interest in the "student" who runs a 4.4 40 and BP's 375. -
skankJust found out recently that Brandon Beachum didn't arrive at Mooney until his Jr. year. Explaination? Anyone?

He was holding out and haggling over some signing bonus issues. They didn't get worked out until after his sophomore year, and then he came to Mooney.
At least...that's what you assume happened in your world of Private school hatred. Right? -

I could go into how he was going to be ruled ineligible to play at Poland based on where he lived. And he decided to transfer to Mooney instead of the public school district in which he lived. But you're not going to believe that reason. You're going to believe the story I posted above. So there's no reason to tell you that he was going to have to leave Poland anyways and he decided to go to Mooney. -

Hey, it's your story, tell it any way you want.
