Is it time for private schools to have theyre own playoffs in football

rmolin73Then you fail at winning.

We have different definitions of winning, then.
That's probably why you are all for moving good teams out of divisions, and I am for leaving them in for the sake of competition. -
Mortgagestar1Prior to the actual playoff system, it was a beauty contest. Similar to the NCAA BCS.
The championships were voted on by sportswriters and coaches back in the ole days. Look at how many state titles Massilon got BEFORE the playoff system and since then.
The parity of sizing up teams in Ohio is a real mess with the majority of schools and their fans unhappy. One topic was raised , " What if the six divisional champions played each other?" Would an Ursuline defeat an Elder? Just food for thought. -
Dean WormerI didn't see Elder play this year but I did see Ursuline. Would Ursuline beat Elder, I doubt it, but they would have been very competitive. Could Ursuline beat Elder, St. Ignatius, Glenville, St. X, etc. on a regular basis? Hell no!! That's why I think the knee jerk reaction to a team which was average at best before this run of talent is ludicrous. Talent levels flow up and down. In my opinion Ursuline's run is over but that doesn't mean that in a few years they aren't right where they were last year. That goes for every school in Ohio.

St. Edward won D1. You never know what could happen in a one game situation, but it would be a pretty big upset if Ursuline beat them. -
ThinthickbigredId take Ursulin against St Eds yep no doubt ... those Y Town schools are the best per capita catholic schools in the USA and Ive seen some very goot nationally ranked teams both larg and small .

Thinthickbigredlets keep this rolling boys !!!!!!!!!!

rmolin73Ursuline wouldn't beat Eds or Wayne, Maple Heights or Trotwood.

Agreed. They'd hang with MH and Trotwood, but would lose 3 or 4 out of 5 to each. Ed or Wayne would have stomped a mudhole in them. -
ThinthickbigredUrsulin would beat all those teams ..

It would be a major upset if Ursuline beat any of them, and it would be extremely unlikely that Ursuline would beat 5 teams in a row like that in a state playoff. -

Naturally winning 5 playoff games is no small feat in our state ,but I dont believe it would be a major upset whateso ever I have seen all those teams and Like Mooney a few years ago I believe Ursulin was the king of Ohio this past year ..Dont sell your squad short ... I thing Big Red was king in Ohio in 05 and 06.. you had a 100 year team -

Ursuline isn't my team. I don't think they had the depth to compete with the bigger schools. -
rmolin73Also to add to that Big Red woud have gotten destroyed by St. Xavier in 05 and Davidson in 06. There is no way that Ursuline would have went through the gauntlet that Wayne and St. Edwards had to go through this year. In my opinion Ursuline would not have beaten Whitmer, Davidson, Solon, Pickerington Central, or Toledo St. Johns. They had many players going both ways and St. Edwards wore teams down.

sure we would have ... We would have beaten St X ... destroyed sure and Hilliard sure.... destroyed CMON MAN get real you know nothing -
rmolin73Like I said you would have gotten beat by X and Davidson like you guys got beat by Mooney in 09. Trust me I know a little bit and although you guys were good at the time you all were'nt on the same level as X or Davidson then and you definately aren't now.

Bullcrap thats ur opinion ...I dont bow down to St X just cause you do and our team was very good those years ..We were great and we beat the heck out of De Sales who played St X that year plus we beat several other great teams ....you dont know what your talking about .....Its all hypothetical anyway ...so on to another thing genius -
rmolin73So me saying that you would have gotten destroyed by X is me bowing down to them? Yeah ok. Maybe its me not bowing down to Big Red that frustrates you. Whoop dee doo you beat a Columbus Desalles team that was 6-4 in the regular season. Also your schedule was meh. Well at least you played more Ohio teams lol. Also its not difficult to be a genius when going up against someone that is lacking in brain matter.

rmolin73Here we go again with thinthick challenging whether or not someone played football. Next he will follow it up with how he would have mopped the field with you. In my opinion good players don't brag about what they used to be only band members and bench warmers do. Like I had stated you all were good in 2005 but I feel that D3 at that time was one of the weaker divisions but when Mooney moved up they classed up the division and made it stronger.
