No, these. You "schooled" yourself by thinking these "jokes" were even a little bit funny or clever.

For a grand total of 79-14 and a winning pct. of .849
Or how about this one?
Since the playoffs started, (1972) Publics and Parochials have gotten together to play for the championship 22 times with the Parochials going 17-5 for a winning pct. of .772. With Canton McKinley winning 3 of the 5.
Despite representing a VERY small pct of schools in DI....Over this span of 22 Public/Parochial head to head matchups 7 parochial schools have been represented, Mooney, Moeller, Tol. St. Francis, St. Edward, St. Ignatius, St. Xavier & Elder, all have at least 1 win, on the other hand, 15 public schools have been represented, WWR, Gahanna Lincoln, Canton McKinley, Massillon, Hoover, Fairfield, Princeton, Centerville, Westerville South, Brunswick, Lima Sr., Huber Heights Wayne, Warren G. Harding, Mentor & Pickerington Central. Only 3 schools have a win. Fairfield, Lima Sr. & Canton Mckinley 3x. So, that's 100% of the parochial schools that have participated winning at least 1, compared to 20% of publics participating winning at least 1.
Now, let's look at DI playoffs ALL TIME....ALL GAMES.
Publics have met parochials 251 times total in the playoffs going 167-84 for a winning pct. of .665
Let's break it down by decade.
1970s Parochials lead 7-3 70%
1980s Parochials lead 30-18 62.5%
1990s Parochials lead 50-24 67.5%
2000s Parochials lead 63-35 64%
2010s Parochials lead 17-4 80% (Parochials went 9-1 this year)
So let's recap shall we?
Over the last 4 years, the constant parochials have a 79-14 .849%
100% of the parochial schools that have played a public for a title have won at least 1
compared to 20% of publics.
Parochials have gone 17-5 in head to head matchups with publics .772%
Parochials have an all time record in all playoff games played of 167-84 .665
Now, I know I'm whining here, crying, pissing, moaning, whatever you want to call it, but I personally think these numbers speak pretty loud. -
skankSorry, I guess I just wasted my time making that last post, I forgot those numbers simply reflect the fact that parochial school kids work harder and want it more.

I'm a public guy, but I have a problem with seperation while public schools hide behind "Open Enrollment". I understand that publics have to take all students in their district, but I have yet to read a reasonable solution/rule change. -

Truthfully, when this thread originated, believe it or not, I voted to keep things the way they are....And I meant it. But digging up stats and reading others stats, especially tsst's, it didn't take me long to change my mind. Sure, some will say I just want a trophy handed to me, I'm a juice boxer, whatever, I could care less, all I want is fairness. -

Then you will never be truly satisfied. Competitive athletics are not fair. They never will be. The human element alone keeps perfection out of the game. Rules based on history don't directly correlate the present style and game. That's just one example.skank;1000253 wrote:... all I want is fairness.

Ok then, which one went public since last year, Ignatius or Mooney? Remember also, the only two parochials that COULD win a title did. -

Huh? Every parochial COULD have won a title this year but very few even made it to the playoffs. -

Who wants perfection? I personally never asked for it. "Rules based on history" you say, look at the numbers again, 5 different decades, and not only did publics never win a "series" against the parochials, the parochials basically dominated EVERY decade. "Rules based on history don't directly correlate the present style and game." Sure looks to me like they do. Especially when you look at the fact that parochials have a 17-5 advantage in head to head matchups in state title games, .772, (there's your "history"), compared to the current 4 year stretch we're in now with parochials holding a commanding 79-14, .849 advantage. Hmm....Looks like they're getting worse.
