Round 2: Orrville Red Riders 8-3 vs Elyria Catholic Panthers 10-1

  • Con_Alma
Great team effort by both teams. Very entertaining game.

    Congrats to the Red Riders!
  • OQB
Rogers was held to 3 receptions the entire night! Tre Simpson did an OUTSTANDING job on him a night until he hurt his ankle with 2 minutes to play.

Ec QB had no composure like everyone was saying...he hasn't been hit that hard ever!

Coach slaughter called a great game...was he reading on here this week :D

Defense played out of this world...you guys keep impressing me!
See what happena when you make the receiver work to get open....QB sacks and hurried throws.

Lichti played solid and managed the game well.

They weren't ready for our Red Rider Swag!!!

Only negative.was the stupid defensive offsides penalties....gotta stop!

+4 in turnovers. Outstanding Defense Riders...........
  • THE4RINGZ
    Congratulations Red Riders! !!!!!!!!!!!!
  • OQB
The score should've been about 35-6...it took them a bush league trick play to score...and we were inside there 40 yard line about 5times and don't score.
  • OQB
Ill take the win though :D

just happy to be playing in week 13!
  • BRF
Great game! Our start really set the tone. Them going for it on 4th down from about their own 30 or so was taken as a slap in the face to our D. Then we get the 2-0 start on that big sack in the end zone by that lazy DE bum of ours! :-). Do you think we will return to Ashland for the big re-match? Saw lots of OC posters tonight. 1_beast got his BRF Dutch Rub! Thanks to O-villeQB for the other game score updates. RR1 looking very "official" marching up and down the side lines.
  • OQB
    Just watched news channel 5....

    1. Theyt spelled Orrville the right way.
    2. They can't pronounce any of our kids names.
    3. We had actual video footage!

Mason had 104 yards rushing and 2 tds, and an interception on defense!
  • Flash
QB 10, I missed the play that they scored on. I thought we just didn't get into coverage fast enough, what happened?

    1. Our swag, attitude, and physicality really surprised them.
    2. I hope series got to see our Horrible defensive end tonight.
    3. I think from what I have been hearing it's Tiffin again....not a big fan of that stadium.
    4. Great to talk to all the OC guys!
    5. RR1 looked legit down there with his journal and pen taking notes!

What a great night to be a Red Rider!
  • OQB
Their reciever was right by the coaches and with the all black uni's blended right in with the entire sideline.....nobody saw him and at the snap of the ball took off running on a streak route!

Yeah it's a legal play, but it is pretty bad when you have to run that play to actually score on us. Just thought it was bush league.
  • Flash
Got to meet the Beast tonight and talk about the old days of wrestling. I'm thinking Tiffin is fairer to Genoa, but I'm sure it depends on other games.
  • 1_beast
Well Folks....LUCKY for Orrville that the BEAST good luck charm showed up..... I had the pleasure of meeting the intelllectual Flash....saw the ass hat Orrvilleqb...rubbed shoulders with the homeless 5knots(hes never at his "supposed" house on wheels when I stop)...and I did, although he was late...talked to the Legend Dutchman, BRF...and Im here to tell ya, there was NO dutch rubs..just his Dutch language. Hats off to Orrville on the win. A few "spirits" and I'll Post again!!!

EDIT: The "no show-over rated" Max set the tempo with the HUGE Sack for a Safety...EC was lost the rest ofthe game...until about the last 5 minutes...
    GOOD JOB MR PIRMAN!!!!
  • OQB
This EC team looked like they just threw the deep route every play (because they had better athletes than their past opponents) but when they couldn't do it against us they looked totally lost out there and didn't know what to do!

Tre might of had his best game EVER as a Red Rider tonight, shut Rogers completely down until he went down with the injury. As expected they looked to pick on our two weaker links in the secondary, but they made plays when needed!

Drew must have done something right this week, great job of punting tonight and giving us the edge in field position. AS well as putting is hand up at the very last second to knock away the td that would've tied the game.
  • Go Riders
Strength of schedule baby. It gets us ready every year!!
  • SinisterMinister
Hmmmmm......Maybe Marcus Fuller is the best qb you've faced this year....haha, just saying. Big shout out to Orrville playing week 13!!!!!! Congratulations Red Riders!
  • OQB
Congrats to you Sinister and your son! He is a great QB and deserves everything he gets, you've taught him well!
  • Dover
    Congrats Orrville!!!!

AllOhio;553197 wrote:This type of game will be to the Riders' liking. The fast pace will enable us to do what we do best athletically, which is flying all over the field. At the same time we will play very physically, delivering the big hits that have become our trademark. EC may have played some very athletic teams, but were they both athletic AND football wise? In other words, our kids have played in the spotlight many, many times- they are extremely battle-tested! Mental toughness goes a long way at this stage of the season.

Just as I suspected- athletes are good to have but athletes with football "smarts" are winners! Flew all over the field, caused fumbles with big hits (not to mention scored 2 pts with one) and played with the mental toughness needed at this stage of the season! Told ya EC.... we are battle-tested....WE ARE ORRVILLE!!!!
  • OQB
OK sorry I just have to repost this comment that I had earlier in the week....to prove all you guys that think I don't know anything wrong :D
If I had my way (which I don't haha, and I'm sure a lot of you are glad I don't ), on criticical downs, short yardage, redzone, goalline, and two minute you need different personel on the field in each situation!

    1. Critical downs: You need the absolute best players out there...even if they go both ways! ie...have max in on third downs, he just creates another mismatch and CATCHES THE BALL!
    2. Short Yardage: Matt at RB, Mason at FB, Max at TE....this should just be a given, no exceptions!
    3. Redzone: Playmakers should be on the field...including Max, Playaction pass would work great in these situations...especially if we have Matt and Mason in the backfield.
    4. Goal Line: The Davis/Monheim combo is very difficult to stop...you need a yard...you got it with these two!
    5. 2-Minute: Turner, Brenner, Rice are you 3 recievers, Max is your middle of the field guy, Tre at RB really good at catching out of the backfield.

These things are just givens and shouldn't have to be brought up....I know Max has been injury prone, but the kid is a player and hardly ever drops a pass if it's in his area. Get him more offensive plays.
DB's have to be physical and make the recievers work to get open, this allows qb to get pressured!
    1. CHECK
    2. CHECK
    3. CHECK
    4. CHECK
    5. Didn't run two-minute tonight
    6. Get physical with the recievers and make them work to get open. CHECK

See I do know a little bit about football and what we need to do to be successful!

    Give me a Headset :D
  • BRF
Yes, BRF made it into the stadium for the kick-off, after paying the two dollars to drive around the parking lot for 10 minutes looking for a space with no attendants. People started parking in the grass. This dork "official" comes up to me and says "I will have you towed if you leave your vehicle there". I said "Do you think you will be able to hold a phone with broken fingers?". Ha ha ha, got to keep my Internet tough guy bully image up! :-)

1_beast is wrong in that he DID get a little Dutch Rub but he might not remember because HE is the one with the "blue" language. And thanks for bringing your good luck "swag" up to our game!

While walking on the field after the game, I was surprised how "squishy" the turf felt. It was weird.

Simpson seemed in good spirits after the game and was getting around on his own.

Reaser got drilled at the end of the game and took a "sitting" 8 count. He was a whiner, too.
  • OQB
Haha vintage BRF tough guy....I wanna know if you moved or not :D
  • 5knots
I am happy, very happy. I am very very happy. Way to go Riders. Our game from start to finish ...no question.. Score 1 for the public school! yeah baby!!!

Of course I moved! On your game calls, I will give you a pat on the back as soon as you are done doing it! :-)
  • OQB
5knots, please tell your son he played a hellava game!
