Oh I didn't mean to, the twice in 30 years was my one UA kiss. I can only prop the Golden Bears so much, I am...you know, from Hilliardridgerunner88 wrote:

I disagree. Hilliard Davidson has now played St. Xavier, Cincinnati Colerain and Cincinnati Elder all tough (two of them obviously).
I think more of what the perception for the rest of Ohio is, is that a team like that (2006) comes once in a blue moon from central Ohio - 2 state champions in 30 years. A win by Davidson would bring a D1 title to central Ohio twice in four years...more than any other part of the state. It would also mark Davidson as one of the premier teams of the decade. Both HUGE accomplishments. To say Davidson is playing just for Hilliard is an understatement...R3 and central Ohio by and large needs a Davidson victory. -
coyotes22Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Davidson!!!!!!!!!!!
-
osudarby08Never thought id say this while still in high school 2 years ago, but go Davidson represent Hilliard.
-
darbypitcher22things change a little bit once you leave; I'll be there cheering on Davidson Saturday night; I'll be in the Greater Massillon/Canton area all weekend, as a matter of fact

Swamp FoxI have read all the hype from both sides and I think that Glenville will be too fast for Davidson. It comes down to the question of whether Davidson can control Glenville's incredible athleticism and deadly speed. Not just for awhile, but for the entire game. Glenville will bust one or two and then the Davidson running game will have to try to come from behind. If Davidson can somehow limit Glenville's big plays, then maybe....I just don't think they can.
-
flimflamAgree totally with Swamp Fox. Haven't seen Davidson this year I would assume for being in the State title game they're the real deal. that said Glenville is a very dangerous team. Glenville has played very discplined well functioned teams this year and has taken care of business. They will be ready and ALWAYS be a threat. Iggy, Solon (for example only) execute very well and the Tarblooders won both of those. Not a Glenville guy, but if they show up and play Tarblooder football especially this being the championship, forget it. They're gonna win. Hope for an injury free game, but go Glenville. On a side note, has a Cleveland Senate League team ever won a state championship. I "think" I remember Collinwood being very tough back in the day.
-
77LegendHave to go with Davidson. It will come down to coaching and playing with discipline.
-
77LegendAlso, if you think Davidson can't score points, please refer to the State Championship game between Davidson and Mentor. I've seen and covered both teams this year. I will say though, if Davidson cannot get pressure on the QB, it will be a long night, and it probably won't go their way. On the other side, if Glenville has a few possessions that they have to punt, that will not work in their favor because generally Davidson will control the clock and run it, run it, and run it some more. And facing a defense like Elder, and Dublin Coffman twice, they have seen some very good defenses/teams. Glenville did defeat a tough St. Iggy team albeit the QB for St. Iggy through 5 passes to Glenville. That still was a nice way to avenge a week 1 loss to them.
-
flimflam77, i had a funny feeling after Glenville lost the first matchup with Iggy that close, it wasn't going to happen again. Like i said don't know much about Davidson, but if Glenville is clicking Whatchout.
-
ZalKathI'm going for Glenville...I like the name..."Tarbloods"...sounds cool...actually...that is what my wife said so I am going with her choice because my picks have sucked...
-
VikingI'll take Glenville. Too much speed for the Columbus suburbanites to handle.
-
darbypitcher22For the record its Tarblooders...
Did I read where Davidson had a 19 play, 11:00 drive in last night's game against Elder? if they can string 2 or 3 drives like that together and keeps Glenville's offense off the field they stand a real good chance -
coyotes22Davidson wins this one- 45-0!!!!!!!
-
PaladinMy Outlook
O - Glenville has too much speed & too many athletes. Big play capabilities, both run & pass. Davidson will grind out some yards, just not enough. Ball control won't decide it.
D- Would rate both as very good. However, think Glenville has played tougher schedule and better teams. Again, Glenville has better & more athletes. Davidson won't hang all game.
KIcking Game -- Here Davidson is superior as Glenville really sucks at kickoffs, punts & X-pt. kicks. But Glenville has a superior kick return game.
Glenville wins by two scores over Davidson. -

I want whatever you're on...coyotes22 wrote: Davidson wins this one- 45-0!!!!!!!
I have to go with Glenville in this one. To beat Iggy by a total team effort in THE PLAYOFFS, says it all. To beat the team that almost beat Iggy in the regular season by 2 scores, says more.
Sure HD has an outstanding rushing game, but Glenville shutdown Massillon's rush in the 2nd half. Glenville's QB has better mobility than Elders did. He has his pick of 3 receivers with light speed and a team of running backs who can dodge defenders at will. Combine those items with a huge O-line and you have a solid offense with many weapons. -

You're right. There can not possibly be any speed in Columbus.Viking wrote: I'll take Glenville. Too much speed for the Columbus suburbanites to handle. -
ZWICK 4 PREZDavidson specializes in Glenvilles weakness. If they're successful with the run, they stand a chance. However, if they don't stop Glenville it won't matter. Glenville just has too many athletes on their team at their disposal.
-
pbuckHD can win this game by using ball control offense & play sound disciplined D but I think the Tarblooders speed finally gets it done & Glenville wins the DI State Championships the best of luck to both teams!
-
darbypitcher22Davidson played Bookhaven early in the year; that should give them a guage of the speed they'll see on Saturday

I believe he was giving his opinion as an outsider..I don't think either of these teams are 'his' team. IMO..his assessment was pretty fair and spot on from what I have seen of the 2 teams. Admittedly..not much of either team. But regardless..that is why the game is played and anything can happen.OlHWildcat wrote: BLAH...BLAH...BLAH...BLAH... We've heard it all before, some ol @#%&. darby I believe that was Colerain, the 8th in the nation Colerain that had way too many athelets, and too much speed, and no way could we score with them to have a shot. Oh yeah, I believe it was 10 to 6. Defence wins Championships. While our O is out here wearing down their D, ours is on the sidelines resting. It's a 4 quarter game and when your D has been out there for 2.2 of those quarters when the 4th comes around, hope you didn't cheat during 2 a day wind sprints. GO CATS!!!! Oh I meant no disrespect to Paladin, I understand that is the perception, all I was sayin is that I think we ( I say we cuz I wore the blue and white a long time ago, when things weren't so good, so I am living vicariously through these kids.) should be proving some of that to be a little not so much a given, just because it sounds good on paper. And yes deffinatly, that's why they play the games. If not, we never would have made it out of our region. ever. anyway, GO CATS!!!! BEAT GLENVILLE!!!!GoChiefs wrote:

flimflamIm rooting for Glenville, but Paladin as far as the tougher schedule goes you realize that Glenville is in the Senate League in Cleveland? Not sure what Davidson's schedule is like, but other than ooc games Glenville has had their way.
