RECRUITING! I've heard many......

BigdoggNo it's just divine intervention. They follow the brightest star and end up at the front door.
-
Be NiceCon_Alma...let them form their own governing body. Seriously, many of us could care less.
-
BlueJayRayYa, I'm sure all that potential D-1 College talent just can't wait to relocate to some obscure town in Northwest Ohio that barely makes d-6 numbers, just to play on a good team. Now add to that, that the relocation took place when he was 5 years old, because every one one those kids grew up in the Blue Jay halls. I get so sick of hearing this stereotypical crap.

Yes let them go do theyre own thing . seperate but equal. -

Yes...great message to the kids...if you can't beat the best...just form another governing body or make them play in a separate playoff system! The answer isn't to run just because you can't beat someone, the answer is to get better. Most schools have open enrollment, most schools can get kids outside the district just like the private schools can. -

So could you tell us just where your school district boundaries are located? You seem to be saying that the only kids that attend DSJ live in the Delphos city limits. Do you understand what the meaning of creaming off the top is? Do you understand that there is not one kid who attends DSJ that doesn't want to be there? Do you have any clue what kind of advantage all this is? -

Let academies into the system then and let public schools openly recruit . ooops that aint gonna fly so lets dump them . then they can praise themselves all they want while they beat themselves -
GoChiefs"Open Enrollment"

Maybe I wasn't clear. If I was I didn't understand your post.
If the Private and parochials are forced to have a separate playoff why should they stay members of the OHSAA???
Why wouldn't they create their own governing body and keep their own revenue?
As far as Thinthickbigred's comment regarding "let them go"....I don't think the OHSAA want's to lose them, their money or the competition they bring to high school athletics.....but then again the members can always vote them out if they don't want them in. -
Be NiceChiefs...run? Where did I say run? And then you answer your own statement about the word "run" as if I used that word. Buddy, you're out there. How much longer untill you get your GED?

You suggested that the public schools run away in post #41 on the thread. Here is a better idea. Let's create 700 divisions, then everyone can be a state champion and get a trophy. -

As Bundy mentioned, post 41. Thats all you are doing by creating 2 playoff systems. Running away from the competition. And you say I'm out there? You know whats funny? Someone disagrees with you, so you have to make little smartass comments like a 14 year old. Guess I dont have to ask you about your GED huh? You have to be out of high school before you worry about that. -

So this is the meassage you want to give the kids? If you can't beat them join them? High school sports are becoiming more and more like college teams in the recruiting. Is this what everyone wants? Coaches scouting Jr high games and recruiting players?
I have no idea what the answer is but the direction things are heading will have a handful of teams competing each year for the titles.
It comes down to greed with no loyalty to school or community. Sad. -
GoChiefsNo, not at all. I'm saying that other schools can get kids from outside their district too. That doesn't mean I agree with it.
-
Be NiceChiefs...you and big Al need some serious glasses. The word run was never used in post 41. Your interpretation doesn't fit, but only in your (blind) eyes. Trying to put a slant on it won't work.
PS...your very last sentence made no sense. Even our company here at the house can't figure out what you're saying. -
GoChiefsWe can just agree to disagree.
As for the last sentence, it makes perfect sense. A 14 year old wouldnt have a need for trying to get a GED just yet, correct? And yes, I agree I could have worded that differently. Lol How about we debate like adults from now on? -
Be Nice^^^Agreed! Now don't open my threads anymore. lol

Many of us want to beat all comers to obtain our State Titles. So we pretty much care! -

Bigdog... My hat's off to you... There is no way that I could skim the cream at the first grade level, and if you can, you should be scouting college ball! LOL -

Way to not answer the question. Do you know what the single biggest factor in school achievement is? If you do you too can pick out the best first graders! -

Amen.
The best usually do. -
Be Nice^^^True. The best usually do...because the majority of Catholic schools know how to "skirt the issue".

skankWho woulda thunk there would be a thread on recruiting....and old skank would play such a small role.

See we could have whined and acted all fearful of the big bad recruiting machine. But instead we waxed their tails and won our title.
