Week #3, Orrville (2-0) at Copley (2-0)
-
riders1So what do you say, have we any Copley followers out there chatters? Looks to be another good matchup and am waiting for RR1 to get us the scoop on the Indians. Orrville has won the last 4 years and 5 of the last 7 years.
-
OQBThey just need to build on last night and fine tune some things ie penalties turnovers. The Riders just need to go on to the game with an attitude and as the "under dog" like they did against Genoa and Triway. It is really hard to beat us when we have a chip on our shoulder.
-
Old RiderWe always seem to play Copley well. Take that for what its worth.
I think we pose problems for any team on our schedule with our athleticism, but I believe Copley has just as many and it will be the most athletic team we play throughout our regular season.
GO RED RIDERS -
VikingI'll take Copley by a deuce.
-
BRFAs the underdogs, we will be bringing it to Copley.
-
5knotsCopley always tough. Good Coach. They were pretty young last year and overmatched which I am sure they remember. This should be another great game to watch. Riders are still molding as a team and can improve in a number of areas. I am not sure about Copley's Defense. I am sure they will have some athletes in the defensive backfield but I do not remember any studs up front....of course my memory isn't he greatest. Our run game needs to improve for Lichti to continue have success and I think it will. Offensively we have many weapons. May get Max back on Offense a bit this week as well....big target and big blocker. Defensively I think Copley would prefer to run the ball as well with the deep threat always there....very similar to us really. I feel pretty good about our defense whether it is run or pass. This will be the best running team we have faced to date....we have to be prepared for that.
-
FlashPlayed the other futbol on that field 2 weeks ago and its a sweet field to play on. Will the turf help or hurt us? Do we have turf shoes or don't you need them?
-
Havin FunHow can a team claim to be an underdog after winning four in a row?. I would say Copley is the big underdog. Orrville should run all over them.

Because they are bigger than us! -

OQBAny injuries from last week? How is Max's foot? We need everyone healthy.
-
5knotsDid not hear of any injuries. Max just a tad sore....be fine. Dillon Lemon gets cast off this week I believe...probably two weeks out yet, my guess. Copley definitely better than Triway. We cannot have a let down. Gotta come out hard. I am glad it is not a long road trip. This will be another great game. 3 in a row!

OQBOne game at a time!!

RedRider1OrrQB08,
Welcome....unless you used to be another name. Then it's hello again.
I like your comment about us playing with a chip on our shoulder. I agree 100%.
About Copley...........
Argeros "Duecie" Turner is only a sophomore, but has already had a 1,000-yd rushing season at the varsity level. He may be the best back we face all year. He's no Delone Carter but has ran for around 225 yds in 2 games so far this season.
Lou Gigliotti is their QB, also back from last year. He's got targets in Chatman and Nixon.
Tough to gauge Copley...their 2 (Jackson and Cleve JFK) wins have not come against much talent....we'll easily be their biggest test of the young season.
We handled them last year (our first game with everyone back).
I like where we're headed....but hope there's no letdown after a big win. Next 2 wont be any easier than the first 2, so plenty of work to be done.
Here's a link to my thoughts on the Triway game....

**************did you guys see Northwest's passing stats from their loss to Firestone? 41 of 71(!!!) for 359 yards. Goodness. they threw it 50 times against us. For the 2nd week in a row, they've had minus 50 rushing yards in game. We might not get a lot of points from them this year unless they find running game. -
RedRider1One more thing...I hope we can talk to each other this week...Copley had no following on JJHuddle, and I suspet it' the same thing here.
-
OQBRedRider1, you may remember me from JJ's as Gr8fan, haha. BRF directed me over to this site after I talked with him at the Triway game. I am still on the huddle though as I am a quarterspondent and get a free membership.
As far as Copley is concerned, I sure hope Turner is no Delone Carter, I played against him and he was a man among boys (He wasn't able to return any punts off of me though)
We have always played them well, and I am still trying to determine if this turf is going to help or hurt us. We both have athletes with lots of speed, so maybe it won't even make a difference. The Riders CAN"T get caught up with what they did last week, we need to fine tune the things we did do wrong in that game and go out each day to get better and prepare for a good Copley team. You are the underdog, who had low expectations this year, just remember that and go into this game with that chip on your shoulder and put a good Rider pounding on the Indians. -
RedRider1^^I thought so.
I think turf helps us. We're a fast team.....a lot of of sub 4.6's on this team (that's for PitMan, he loves when that's brought up).
We always seem to match up well with Copley. I think they're improved over last year, but I'm starting to think that maybe we're not too far behind last year either.
It'd be big computer points to the winner. -
5knotswatched some film last night from their first 2 games. The back has some nice speed, he is small and not super disciplined on running to the hole....that works against some opponents, hopefully we are more disciplined than that defensively. Not real big up front...maybe similar size to Triway. QB will throw it into coverage without hesitation and gives his athletes the chance to make a play on the ball......much like we used to do. It has provided some big plays for them but also can provide a field day for interceptions. Should be a good game.
-
RedRider1So you're saying a disciplined defense could pose problems for them?
Have we had a pick yet this year? Time for a few this week. -
5knotsI am saying a "Coach Haley" defense could pose problems for them. I don't think a pick yet?
-
thePITmanGood luck to Orrville this week. You proved last week what kind of team you can be when you play to your potential. Keep it up.
-
tsst_fballfanGood luck Rider!
-
OQBWe have had a few ints this year. Brenner had one week one, and Tre had one last week but got called back.
-
RedRider1Forgot about both.....
So 2...but officially 1. -
5knotsI'm still smiling from Friday!
