  So if citizens/parents are the ones preparing "care packages" for the players to give to desired area athletes, is that acceptable, too? LoL. All that aside, though, it's obvious that a player in our area would get the most exposure if playing on a team like Orrville where there is a history of producing top-caliber athletes that seem to be ready to play at the next level. You guys have a great program and develop your kids and prepare them well for whatever they want to do after high school, academically or athletically, or both.

  We could use a few more linemen for next year. We have a TON of our skill players returning and coming up. One thing we can assure any kid who suits up for the Red Riders is that if you are a college caliber talent you WILL be seen. Thru Five games of the season on the sideline or in the stands have been Nebraska, Indiana, Notre Dame, Akron, Ashland .....and those are only the ones I know about. You cannot discount the fact that the head coach can pick up the phone and call major Div I programs and they know they can believe him when he says "hey I think we have a kid you might want to look at".

  I don't mind it. I understand how passionate you guys are about your town's football (and athletics in general), and for good reason! I respect what you guys have going on (and have had going on for a LONG time), and I just like talking area sports... and right now, Orrville is "what's going on" in area sports. Haha! LoL. lol.   Red Rider 1 I need some stats. Backpack from lex over on the Lex -CF thread said Orrville D cannot stop CF ground game. I was curious what CF stats were against us last year in the 2 meetings on the ground and what they ran for against Lex last year? help me out if you can.

  2009 Orrville 41 Lex 21 , Orrville 46 for 290 yds , Lex 24 for 94 yds, ..... Orrville 32 CF 21 Orrville 37 for 145 yds, CF 41 for 141 yds ..... Orrville 28 CF 7 Orrville 40 for 196 yds CF 25 for 56 yds I don't know the CF vs Lex for last year.
  Madison had the most during the season at 41 for 184, playoffs Genoa 50 for 331 yds and OG 40 for 91 yds.

  To summartize his numbers....
  
  Clear Fork ran for 197 yards on 66 carries in our 2 meetings....or about 3 yards per carry. The game was real muddy if i recall (both).
  Orrville ran for 341 on 77 carries in the 2 games....a little over 4 yards per carry.

  I saved the boxscores from last year for Orrville games This morning I checked the News Journal archives and got a free summary of the Lex vs CF 09 game ( I am not paying to read whole articles ...... I am cheap ) all I could see was McCune 18 for 229 yds. and Kline 15 for 165 yds for, their totals 33 carries for 394 yds or 11.9 per carry. Summary Article didn't list game totals, but probably others carried also.

  We have not lost to Clear Fork since the league started.....I don't see any problem in beating them this year either.

  Yeah..thanks for the stats guys...I was going to use them to make a point on the CF Lex thread...but didn't want to start too big a fight 4 weeks before the game. I agree QB. Every year it is the same story...this is the year they are going to beat us because they will get over that "mental" thing about Orrville. Horse puckey! We won every game because we were the better team every year. You can get away with a solid running game against any team except one that has great Defense. We have had that and we have that this year, CF is always a formidable opponent, I love them in our Conference. We are a great opponent as well. To stop CF you need three things. 1. TNT that can cause trouble at the line of scrimmage. 2. Linebackers that can fly to the ball. 3. DBs who can play like linebackers when they have too. Guess what? We have that. I know people get tire of hearing me say it, but it has proved true so far this year. We have some kids with that rare combination of size and speed at multiple positions on the field. You cannot discount that all our backers/DEs can run to the ball with the kind of velocity that they can bring. We will see in 4 weeks and CF may win the game...but it is nothing we haven't seen from them before. I'm rambling....

  That post makes no sense to me? sorry. We play West Holmes this week and ALWAYS play Woo week 10? It says right in my post we will see about CF in 4 weeks....that would be week nine the week before we play Woo...is that is anything near what you were trying to say? We have a much bigger game week 7 with Ashland...is that what you want to get out of me? Trust me when I say Ashland is on our mind...been there for about 50 weeks now.

  Wouldn't bother me a bit if you weren't thinking about the Ashland game. Of course that was the rise I was attempting to get out of you. Just a bored Ashland fan reading about Clearfork, Orrville, Clearfork, Orrville..... now I get why the boy cried "wolf". We have a pretty big game with Mansfield this week. They always play us well. But no one talks about it so I just came over here for some fun.

  The only billboard was right here on the chatter...atleast thats all I know of and I live in Orrville.
  
  As for the OCC...I think its fair to say that it is "one week at a time" for every team. You can't overlook anyone and we found that out the last time West Holmes came to town. Not only did we lose a close game, but playoffs went out the window as well!

  I understand sinister....that's why Iv'e been trolling on the Cf threads.....only people left to talk to. And believe me when the time come we Orrville Posters can get them riled up in a heartbeat, Make sure you return week nine and join in the fun. When a team is ) for whatever against you and twice in 3 weeks last year they get kind sore real easy. haha. good folks though, great fans. Oh and congrats on the fantastic50 top 50!
