Ohio Cardinal Conference 2010

Did CF play poorly or just ran into a better team?
  • CFColts
I think they ran into a better team tonight. It looked like they were in shock during the first half. It was 23-0 at the half and then CF turned it up and cut it to 30-22. Sandusky made some big plays to seal the game. CF gave up two safeties on the night and gave Sandusky a 1st down with penalties a few times after they had them stopped. Hopefully they learn from this one and get better by OCC time.

Orrville beats a good Northwest Indian team tonight 24-22. it wasn't pretty but it was a "W" for the OCC and the Riders.
  • thePITman
    Ashland 49, Willard 7
Sandusky 39, Bellville Clear Fork 22
Orrville 24, Canal Fulton Northwest 22
    Lexington 44, Mt. Vernon 21
    Shelby 40, Mansfield Madison 20
Mansfield Sr. 58, Tol. Woodward 8
    Wooster Triway 48, Millersburg W. Holmes 6
Galion vs. Wooster, ppd. to Aug 28. (Wooster leads 21-14 at half)
  • RedRider1
Wonder if all the OCC teams have ever all won on the same night...obviously, we'd only be talking about weeks 1, 2 or 3.
  • THE4RINGZ
Traveling to Galion two days in a row to play football has to take a toll on Wooster. Hopefully they can keep it together and finish up with a win.
  • THE4RINGZ
After one week of league play has anyone's prediction changed?
  • 5knots
Still looks like Ashland in the driver's seat with CF and Orrville close. Wooster has shown life which is a breath of fresh air. Lex needs to get their QB back. Don't really know about them yet down the road.
  • ArrowGrad02
Ashland needs to beat the teams on their heels to repeat. Orrville and Clear Fork are definately the front runners to try and dethrone the Arrows.
  • OQB
It's about time Orrville beats Ashland, they have had our number the past 4 years, they beat us in 06, 07, and 09.

What's are longest losing streak to one school? Other than Wooster, I know that got to 5 years, but we're on the 5 year streak now...

streaks man nothing..Ashland has had dynamite teams. The year they struggled , '08, was when they took their lumps with a sophomore QB named Fuller. Guess who is a Senior leader this year? Guess who is now starting a Soph QB? Orrville. We are not exactly taking our lumps because we have a strong supporting cast, but he is still a soph. Quite a bit of our success or failure will be determined by How well the QB grows into the position. Going into week 5 I am quite impressed with his progress. Another big test this week. We have a very very good total team defense against run or pass that is carrying our team thru the rough patches....that is a good thing. Good Luck Riders

I have been impressed with the way Orrville's defense has stepped up this year. Should make for an exciting Week 7 matchup. GO ASHLAND!!!!

Saw a post on another thread that there is 2 separate video and audio recordings that seem to implicate the Ashland defender in the Duke Price suspension. Will be interesting to follow this development with the OHSAA and OCC administrators. Could this actually be a case where the instigator gets caught? I have no clue what happened. I do know young Mr. Price and from what I know of him he is a quality young man. Doesn't mean in the heat of the moment something could have happened.
  • RedRider1
I hope if that's the case, Wooster pursues it. Gotta stick up for your players....especially if there's something on tape to prove it.

How is there an audio recording that proves or disproves anything?

Maybe what was said on te field is what prompted the ejection and it can be heard on the tape?

The tape proves that Duke punched an Ashland player in the head. The Wooster athletic director has requested film from Ashland to view before taking the appeal further. We should definitely stick up for our kids but should also teach them to be good sports. I think that Duke Price is a great KID that got frustrated in a big game and punched someone. He still is a great kid that did a dumb thing. The Ashland seniors have much respect for Duke. We hope to see him play at the next level. We wish him the best but stop trying to shift the blame. If the OHSSA is looking at film I have a lot of plays that I would like them to see of Wooster player #1. Maybe they can sanction him as well as the "Ashland defender". Really.....sticks and stones. Its football not a checkers game.

Sinister, you crack me up. Several people on here watched the replay and no one saw any punches thrown. The Ashland seniors must have a funny way of showing their "respect" for Duke by calling him, or letting one of their teammates call him what they did. Would've been interesting to hear the excuses from the Ashland players if Fuller would've got tossed for Ashland.
  • SinisterMinister
I do know that Fuller and Price are friends. They are both college level players that have attended prestigious events together. What is your point?

Week two of OCC play tonight. What are your predictions?

    Ashland over West Holmes
    Clear Fork over Lexington
    Wooster over Madison
    Orrville over Mansfield Senior

Here we go, West Holmes. Here we go! (OK, so me rooting isn't going to help them one bit. Haha! Here's a question - Will West Holmes score tonight?)

IMO, yes. In the 3rd or 4th Quarter against our JV defense. Final Score: 56-7.

CF/Lex is the game I'll be interested to hear the outcome of.

Lex D can hit.....but can their offense score? I'll go with Lex in a mild upset.

The truth is, only the official on the field knows for sure. He was ejected and duly reported to the OHSAA as required. All of the talk of something happening to any players from Ashland is nothing more that wishful thinking by the Wooster faithful. It won't be happening. During the play in question, the official had both players in his view. Why were they both not tossed? All of the "Expert Tape Analyzers" on here apparenty are unable to see or hear what took place. The official was right there on the field and made the call. Yet all are so sure of what happened by watching a tape. Now, that cracks me up.

Colts win 42-13. The Lex D didn't have much success stopping the colts ground game and the Lex offense just isn't the same. #52 did a good job of filling in tonight at qb. Can't remember his name but he had a few nice passes. Too bad about their qb being injured this year.
