SQ_CraziesLeBron with 38 on 68% from the field. No team in the league is beating the Cavs when LeBron is hitting like that.
-
Cleveland BuckZ looked awful out there. I understand his shot is off having not played in 6 weeks, but his defense was pitiful. He was never a lock down defender, but he was better than he was tonight. Hopefully he'll pick it back up as he gets back into game shape.

se-alumSo does Powe get deactivated for the Playoffs if Shaq is back or will it be Williams/Moon??
-
devil1197
Probably Williams.se-alum wrote: So does Powe get deactivated for the Playoffs if Shaq is back or will it be Williams/Moon??
Moon will be needed for defense against some guys in the playoffs imo. -
FootwedgeI think it will be Moon. Williams has played well.
-
SQ_CraziesWilliams. The others are more capable offensive players--aside from Moon, but he's a better defender and his athleticism is a nice plus. And I wouldn't say he's any less capable than Williams, they're probably about the same.
-
hoops23Jawad is much > offensively than Jamario Moon. He's got a nice game with his back to the basket, hits 3's more consistently, can create off the dribble and is a much more physical player on defense.
Moon adds the athleticism and shot blocking, he's also a better rebounder than Jawad. Moon is a good defender, but he's a little softer on defense than Jawad is as well.
I'm, not sure which one will be inactive.
As far as Jamison, after picking up two quick fouls, he straight up SHUT DOWN one of the best offensive power forwards in the game in David West.
Jamison shot 5/10 (50%) 1/2 from 3 (50%) had 11 points and 11 boards, 3 assists and 0 turnovers.. Also had a +6 in the +/-
How many games have we lost since AJ joined the squad? 3
How many have we won? 14
I do believe that's a .824 winning percentage... I don't give a shit what stats you have, as you clearly ignore everyone else's, but these are numbers you can't ignore because they're the only ones that truly matter.
Winning % > everything. -
KR1245Do we know why Leon Powe did not play? He looked pretty good against the Pistons on Sunday (think he had like 16 and 8) It seems like he is finally starting to get back into game shape, I wonder why Brown decided to sit him. I really think that we are going to need him in the playoffs, he is strong enough to guard guys like Howard, Perkins etc. When Shaq returns the Cavs are going to have so much frontcourt depth its scary, hopefully Brown will figure out how to manage it.
-
just_a_swimmerNo one knows the rotation right now. I think people think they know what is going on. I don't like seeing guys who may play in the play-offs not getting any time now. I think guys need to be kept in game shape but how can you fault a coach for his rotation when all they do is win. Lots of guys are not playing. Boobie does nothing but hit shots when he comes in and he still doesn't get any minutes. Right now Parker can't hit the broad side of a barn and he is still getting a ton of minutes. I dunno too many good guys and not enough minutes for everyone is a good problem to have. Trying to keep everyone ready when not getting to play consistently is for Brown to figure out I guess.
-
devil1197just, Parker's minutes have actually been reduced by 5 over the last 5 games. He isn't getting his normal 28. West has been taking his extra minutes recently after his solid production.
Guys like Gibson, Jawad, Powe, and Moon are depth players who will have those games of 10+ every now and then. Their reliable off the bench, even if they do not play every night. Its going to happen with how deep our team is. But those guys know they will be called upon sometime in the playoffs to step up and make some plays whether it be defense with Moon and Powe or offense with Gibson hitting 3's.
The main guys come playoff time will be Williams, West, Parker, LeBron, Jamison, AV, Z, and Shaq. Not sure if JJ will be including in that group depending on how the coaching staff feels they can rely on him in crunch situations. -
se-alumNo way will Shaq be in the playoff rotation over Powe. Check the fuckin' PER man!!

Shaq goes back into the starting lineup when he returns from injury.se-alum wrote: No way will Shaq be in the playoff rotation over Powe. Check the fuckin' PER man!! -

Powe showed absolute domination at both ends of the floor. My guess is that his knee may have flaired up and Brownie decided to give him the night off. He didn't even play in garbage time.KR1245 wrote: Do we know why Leon Powe did not play? Whereby I agree Daniel needs to play a good bit more, no one can legitamately complain about Parker's overall game. He rarely if ever takes a bad shot...and as a result, his percentages remain very, very good...not Boobie good, but still very good. Boobie hits the 3balls at 50%, which should earn him PT. It's not like he plays defense like Damon Jones did.
As for Jamison, he needs to stick with his strengths...which is shooting inside the paint. He's not bad with his loopy shit that he chugs over people to score from 5 feet in. When he's outside of 16 feet, the opponents are hoping he shoots it. -
hoops23I'm guessing Powe didn't play for precautionary reasons. His minutes have went up so Mike probably just gave him the night off for extra rest.
I mean, the guy is coming back from two ACL injuries, you don't want to put too much too soon on him.
Mike Brown is doing the best he can with all this talent, imo. It's hard to find minutes for everyone. -

Yes Shaq goes back to starting, will use up his 5 personal fouls in 20 minutes, and retire to the bench. That's been his modus operandi all season.KR1245 wrote:

It's a good thing we have a Leon Powe available to step in. -

This is what I've been trying to tell you for the last month. Happy to see that you've finally caught on. Last year's team was slightly better in this regard. -
hoops23
Nope. Because you can't compare teams from different years. Too many things change. The East is much better this season, as is the West.Footwedge wrote:LTrain23 wrote: Winning % > everything.

Secondly, I'm only comparing winning % this year. We're winning at a much greater clip with Antawn than w/o.
If we go on to win the championship, this team is >>>>>>>>> than last years. -

They sit him after 5 fouls. Pay attention to the game. You want me to post how many times this has happened?se-alum wrote:

How do you figure the East is better this year? The East is garbage compared to last year.LTrain23 wrote:

And please stop with the Jamison crap increasing our winning percentage. Do you honestly believe that he is responsible for that? -
se-alum
The wording of your statement implies that he only has 5 fouls to "use up", and he wouldn't retire to the bench after 5, he would simply be sat on the bench to be used at a later time. Retiring to the bench would mean he wouldn't be returning to the game. It's ok, everyone makes mistakes.Footwedge wrote:

Yes, I would love for you to post hom many times it has happened. Thank you! -
Terry_TateFrom my quick count there's been 10 times this year that Shaq has played 25 minutes or less and had 5 fouls, and that's in 53 games. From looking through the box scores it doesn't appear there is any direct correlation between fouls and time played, meaning there's been just as many games he's played 20 minutes and had 1 or 2 fouls.
Just did a quick count and at least 16 times Shaq has played 20 minutes or more and had 2 or less fouls. -
