haha I read that too. I kind of took it as a slap in the face. Now everyone in the entire country who follows his twitter is laughing at the Browns

    He's a fullback..
haha yeah I was gonna say, his job isn't to run the ball...he's a FULLBACK...
That's just another reason it was a bad trade. FBs are pretty much useless for most teams in today's NFL. Leonard Weaver and Le'Ron McClain are the only two fullbacks that actually produce. Hillis didn't block well or score at the goal line.

I don't know if I like it or not....time will tell.

Didn't Hillis have a pretty good year like 2 years ago when all of denvers backs got hurt??

Vickers is a very good FB...

Quinn gets about 54 passing yards before a season ending injury ensues.

Peyton Hills is more of a hybrid FB.. He can slot in at RB as well and be effective. Vicers is still our FB because of his punishing blocking.

I'm glad Quinn is gone though.. He's trash.

WOW! I been totally into college basketball today that I didn't even see this.

For what it's worth (and I am not a Browns fan), Hillis played exceptionally well as Denver's starting tailback in 2008 until an injury ended his season. If my memory serves me correctly, he had a few games in a row with 100+ yards and a TD.

enjoy being a career backup Mr. Quinn. don't get too comfortable anywhere; I'm guess you'll be changing addresses once every one or two seasons

I was just talking to his mom this morning at Giant Eagle on Bethel Rd. and she said look for him to nix the Denver deal and instead sign with a Canadian Football League team.

Last year, Jake Delhomme was pathetically horrible. Before that, he had had pretty good career as a quarterback. Holgren came in to do a job. Don't know how it will all play out, but he is wise in busting up this perennial clusterfuck.

Good for Brady. I can now root for him and not feel guilty.

Agree 100%. Part of this was done to get rid of BOTH DA & Quinn so there would be no residual "we want Brady or we want Derek" chants from the diehard fans of either. Clean slate for all.

As far as the value of the deal? Considering as of yesterday they were talking "he will be traded or RELEASED", they are lucky they got a turkey from Giant Eagle for him. There wasn't much of a market for him.

I could see the Wimbley 3rd rounder being used for that 'QB to groom'.

How much longer are we going to have wait for the quarterback of the future to be groomed?

This team has not had a QB since they came back into the league.

This is just a train wreck right now.

Rome wasn't built in a day. At least give the new guys in the office a season to prove that they know what they hell they are doing. Did you not see the team last year? Obviously more than one or two players was the problem. Let 'em get some new faces on the team and see what happens.

I'm happy with the trade considering the Browns would have just released him anyway. 2 late round picks are nothing special, and Hillis is a FB, so that's basically a waste, but its better than getting nothing in return for him.

Guess we're gonna just have to hope that this regime will get it right. For as sad as he currently is, Delhomme is the best QB we've had since the return.

    Sad, But True.

If he's even half as good as he was in Carolina he'll be the best.

    The Browns are funny.

I will give you that and yes it is pretty sad.

Espn draft guru's are now speculating the Browns will take a QB in this draft in round 1.
    I dunno about that.
  • justcompete
I just like the idea that we know who our starting QB is going into camp. They can now move on to other needs. There is nothing wrong with stability.

When I saw these deals go down yesterday this was my first reaction. What QB's are projected in the 2nd/3rd round? (assuming we could move up a few spots by packaging one of our plethora of 3rd-6th rounders)

Lefevour, Snead, Pike, Tebow ??? Would McCoy drop this far? Is there anyone else that I am missing that could be a target in those rounds?
