Loss against the Colts in 2008. Ended up being a season ending knee injury.devil1197 wrote: Also, what game was he talking about when the fans cheered when he was injured?
Granted it wasn't one of the Browns fans proudest moments, though it was more a reflection of frustration for wanting a chance at winning rather than cheering the fact that a guy got injured. That's simply stupid. No one I know actively thinks someone getting injured is an incident worthy of cheering.
I am certain this type of thing isn't a Cleveland exclusive either, and to say it's a reason why Cleveland fans are the dumbest you know because of it is even more stupid, most of those fans are the same ones that fill up the Q whenever the Cavs are at home, so welcome aboard.
Anderson was disliked. He played well in '07 but could never follow it up and never showed he had any heart. That was his downfall, not getting injured against the Colts. -
SQ_CraziesMost guys wouldn't be able to follow up a Pro Bowl season when they come into camp the next year and have to battle for their job because of a fan created QB controversy. He got dicked around like Jenna Jameson.

ytownfootballFan created? Please. Fans don't have a say in who plays QB in case you haven't noticed. That all fell on one Romeo Crennel. He created the mess by his lack of ability to lead.
-
just_a_swimmerI blame the coaches. Bad decisions being made all the way around.
Fans shouldn't have cheered for him going down but the cheering was also for Quinn coming in. Is the glass half empty or half full. Derick never helped himself because he never took responsibility. He still isn't taking responsibility. Hope he is successfull somewhere else but I have my doubts. Could have been the coaching though too I mean look at the rest of the team. We had stars that couldn't catch and run and defensive stars that couldn't tackle. It has just been bad all the way around. Anderson was an easy target for the frustrations cause he was QB1. IMO he needed to be bigger then the fans of Cleveland and he failed miserably. Bye Bye..... -

SQ_CraziesIf you don't think the organization buckled to the fans call for Quinn then you're nuts.
He didn't play his way into that spot, look what happened when he got on the field early on. He looked like a deer in headlights. At least DA was comfortable (as comfortable as you could be in that offense) on the field. Coaches are smart enough to know when a player isn't ready to hit the field and Quinn was far from ready when he first got some PT. DA went to the Pro Bowl. Something that not many Browns players have been able to say since 99. Yet that seemed to be forgotten before DA ever got a chance to redeem himself--only Browns fans would want to replace a Pro Bowler with a unproven young player.
They buckled to the fans--why do you think they're all gone? -
ytownfootballSmart enough to know when a player isn't ready to hit the field but not smart enough to buckle to fan pressure....right
-
BCBulldogThis is how Anderson chooses to spend the waning seconds of his 15 minutes? More evidence as to why he simply doesn't have what it takes.
-
SQ_CraziesYou honestly think that Brady Quinn played well enough in practice to warrant taking the job of a Pro Bowl QB? No. He got pushed into it and DA got pushed out because of pressure from the fan base. I mean come on, what else do the Browns have other than their fans?
-
ytownfootball
No, I don't think Quinn played well enough, DA played badly enough to force it though. He was bad, and the alternative wasn't better if at all.SQ_Crazies wrote: You honestly think that Brady Quinn played well enough in practice to warrant taking the job of a Pro Bowl QB? Eric TaylorDidnt Cleveland turn down a 1st and 3rd for Anderson a few years ago from Minnesota? Or was it another team?
-

Let's face the facts here, whether it was the fans, coaches, management or ownership, Anderson never did enough to put and keep Quinn on the bench. He sucked...bad. Enter Quinn...he sucked...bad. Enter Anderson again...he sucked...really really bad. The common theme here...ANDERSON AND QUINN BOTH SUCK!! One's out, one to go.ytownfootball wrote:

SQ_CraziesAre you kidding me?! Anderson was feeling the heat coming off of the Pro Bowl! Before he ever even got the chance to suck. Most guys wouldn't play well after getting screwed like he did.
-
BCBulldog
Awwww!! Pooooor wittle Derrick!! Did he get his wittle feelings hurt? Boo hoo hooooo!! Suck it up and kick the other guys ass if you're better. If you can't welcome a little competition, you already lost. Whiner.SQ_Crazies wrote: Are you kidding me?! Anderson was feeling the heat coming off of the Pro Bowl! SQ_CraziesLOL, yet another great example.
-
THE4RINGZSeriously, DA was a "pro bowl" QB because the other guys who were voting in declined to go. He was the alternative to the alternative, etc.
I am not knocking him for going, he had a great season that year, but to label him as a pro bowl Qb is a little misleading. -
SQ_CraziesIt's not misleading at all, he played in the Pro Bowl.
-
BCBulldogLittle bitch is trying to backtrack now.

He wasn't originally selected, he went in as an alternate. The misleading part is that everyone spins that pro bowl appearance like he was Peyton. He had a great season, but see the reality of the situation and that is what is misleading.SQ_Crazies wrote: It's not misleading at all, he played in the Pro Bowl. -

Ha! Nothing more than a bullshit, produced cover thanks to a publicist because he's a FA.BCBulldog wrote: Little bitch is trying to backtrack now.

ytownfootballAll this bickering about who sucked less is funny. One down one to go.
-
SQ_CraziesEveryone spins it like he was Peyton? LMAO! No. Everyone spins it like it didn't happen.
Alternate, whatever, he played in it. You don't become an alternate on accident.
You think Brady Quinn will ever be an alternate? -
BCBulldog
Exactly. Little bitch can't even stand up to defend his comments in the face of some backlash from the fans without crumbling. Again, more evidence that he doesn't have what it takes.SQ_Crazies wrote:

THE4RINGZWhat I am saying is this, you listen to ESPN Cleveland radio and they are constantly touting DA's Pro Bowl appearance like he was everyone's favorite and the best Qb in the league that year. Again, he had one great season, not the mandate from the football gods that he is the next Johnny Unitas like some people want to spin that appearance.
To answer your other question, no, I don't believe Quinn will ever make a pro bowl appearance even as an alternate. If you would have asked me about Seneca Wallace, I may have answered differently.
