I'll bet you $100 that he writes that woman a check. Does that mean he was guilty of rape? No. Does that mean that he behaved in a manner not 100% innocent? Absolutely yes.
Yeah, Ben is going to write a check to a lady he lodged a counter suit against.
I want some of that action queeny.

Hey Capone, why don't you tell me where you heard that Tress only wanted to recruit Roethlishberger to OSU as a TE?
It was one of his first pressers after Pittsburgh drafted him. He was asked why he didnt go to OSU. When I find 10 hrs of free time, I'll research it.

Ben would have already settled that some time ago if he had any intention of doing so. And, no, 50K or even a few hundred k is not an admission of guilt because companies and people do, sometime, make financial decisions to just put it behind them. But Ben has in fact counter sued (it's the only defense he has against a bogus case). He has, in fact, refused to settle for peanuts and an admission of guilt.

Will you admit when the case is ultimately dismissed, or a jury finds in Ben's favor, that there was never any smoke but just an opportunist likely targeting Harrah's, at best, or a complete gold digger at worst?

This second girl's own sorority sisters apparently ripped her a new one on their facebook page before being ordered to take it down. Said she went willingly and emerged happy, but was an opportunist and could see her fabricating this. Are you going to apply your same airtight "where there's smoke there's fire" arguments to her? You know, the girl who had a lawyer before Ben did and has skipped follow-up interviews and refused to cooperate with police since the night of the incident? She appears to have done something very foolish and irresponsible, at best, and at worst is, in fact, an opportunist.

No matter how you want to paint it otherwise, a series of false allegations is still just a series of false allegations...and those sort of things tend to kind of feed off each other. Where there's smoke there's fire usually applies to criminal charges, not civil suits that can be brought for any reason no matter how frivolous and not criminal complaints thoroughly investigated by police and dropped (not like there's a particularly high hurdle for an indictment on sexual assault).

Tress wasn't the coach when Ben was being recruited.

All I remember seeing, I think in an article when Ben's coach passes, was that he was not heavily recruited....He signed with Miami at the start of his senior year, I think.

At the end of the year, OSU and some other big names came calling. Ben said he didn't want to be second choice and felt the Miami coach had earned his loyalty.

That's what he said, I'm sure other factors certainly played into the decision, like having to win the QB job at OSU and/or whether that was the best place to hone his craft.

I haven't forgot about our bet durkie boy.
Big Ben is still a rapist, regardless of the bet!

I can't wait till your avatar is "Big Ben is a RAPIST!!!!"

This is the bullshit I'm talking about. Sexual assault isn't exactly rape and clearly you don't know the difference in this case. Rape is sexual intercourse with out consent, clearly there was NO intercourse involved and for the hundreth time, he hasn't been charged with anything. I'm glad to see you haters are getting your rocks off on this when it could all be false or no charges are ever filed.

Honestly, are you that ignorant? Don't you think the accusations and possible charges would be labeled as "rape" if that were the case brought against him?

Really? What is the protocol, time wise, for someone who did something wrong to buy his way out? Is there some timeframe etiquete for this?
And, no, 50K or even a few hundred k is not an admission of guilt because companies and people do, sometime, make financial decisions to just put it behind them.
I'm aware that what the parties agree to say, but the reality is that the party that settles has done something wrong nearly every time.
But Ben has in fact counter sued (it's the only defense he has against a bogus case). He has, in fact, refused to settle for peanuts and an admission of guilt.
Yes, the "deep pockets" strategy again. Hopefully it doesn't work.
Will you admit when the case is ultimately dismissed, or a jury finds in Ben's favor, that there was never any smoke but just an opportunist likely targeting Harrah's, at best, or a complete gold digger at worst?
Cases. Plural. And yes, if both cases are dismissed with no settlement, I will admit that. OTOH, your passive-aggressive non-response to my question (answering a question with a question) means that your answer is different than mine.

Apparently? Come on, you're better than that. How about "I heard"?
You know, the girl who had a lawyer before Ben did
I'm not sure why you continue to attempt to spin Ben not getting a lawyer right away as anything other than the fact that Ben just isn't very smart.
No matter how you want to paint it otherwise, a series of false allegations is still just a series of false allegations
No, it's evidence that someone at the very best is making a series of poor decisions, and perhaps more.

The first one was a CIVIL suit brought out months after the alleged "rape." That case screams BS. C'mon BR I thought you were smarter than that.

It is hilarious how worked up some people are getting over this...especially when it's clear that people are purposefully pushing their buttons because it obviously gets to them. I can't be the only one that finds all this entertaining, right?

No, no...it's button pushing at it's finest and you're falling for it every single time. You can't let a single post go...whether the person is joking, exaggerating, etc. Why do you let these people get you so worked up? You've stated multiple times that "NO CHARGES HAVE BEEN FILED YET!!!"...you think people honestly don't know that? Sure they do. And yet...people still make jokes or say something outrageous. And even if someone actually makes a serious or valid statement you fly off the handle about that as well. You're just providing entertainment at this point.

Obviously you haven't read a damn thing. Some of these people actually believe what there posting but what ever! When you have people wanting to bet on a settlement, that's a little more than button pushing. BTW, don't like my posts or the so called "flying off the handle".........you have every right not to read or respond to them, after all this is a message board isn't it?

I'm not going to argue with you about what I have and haven't read. As someone on the outside of this ridiculous argument I can clearly see what's going on. You can keep wasting time responding to every post (whether crazy or rational) if you'd like...but let me know how that works out for you. Ever hear that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting a different result? Seems fitting.

Who's responding to every single post? You know what, mind your own business, I don't need you to lecture me on wasting time.......it's a damn message board, get over yourself! You're as bad as these other haters and that's all it is, hate...........let me know how that works out for you?
