Or we could draft better and build our team the right way.kizer permanente;1879404 wrote:Browns have more than enough picks to make both happen. So do it. -

lol, I'll agree with that.SportsAndLady;1879398 wrote:My pipe dream comment was moreso that it would be great news if the browns got TY Hilton, and since the browns never have anything good happen to them, it’s a pipe dream.
I know that Indy really is trying to trade him, I just have very little confidence he’ll land in Cleveland. He’ll probably be a patriot by Wednesday and it’ll cost NE their 4th rounder.
Fair enough. I liked the trade for both teams. It ended being a steal for Browns. I also hated that draft. Did not want Richardson and definitely HATED the Weeden pick. My buddy and I finished a 5th of Woodford by the end of the 1st round haha.like_that;1879399 wrote:I know for the draft, a lot of my browns friends (including myself) were pissed the Browns traded up to draft a fucking RB. As for the trade with indy, my group of browns friends were split on the richardson trade. Some were extremely butt hurt, the others like me thought it was the Browns chance to try and redeem themselves from the weeden/trich draft. I sure as hell was ok with getting a first round pick for t-rich. His rookie year was not that special, I think most Browns fans just wanted to believe he was a beast. His one highlight was plowing Coleman and making his helmet pop off. Other than that he looked pretty slow for a NFL rb. I had a couple buddies who were colts fans and I tried to tell them it wasn't a good trade for indy. The colts won in spite of t-rich that season, not because of him. -
Commander of AwesomeJust pointing out that Jamie Collins is quietly having a horrible season, PFF grade of 34.5. That is Cam Erving type of bad.

Unless it's for a QB, I can't think of many franchises that have traded their way into being consistent winners.SQ;1879408 wrote:Or you could do both. It’s not binary lol. -

Sure, but like I said, you can do both. I can’t think of any team who doesn’t make trades to improve their roster.like_that;1879426 wrote:Unless it's for a QB, I can't think of many franchises that have traded their way into being consistent winners. -

Except both traded for future hall of famers in Jerome Bettis and Brett Favre?Commander of Awesome;1879442 wrote:Packers/Steelers come to mind. -
kizer permanenteEveryone trades for talent. Browns have a plethora of picks. We can afford to trade.

I said except for QBs, but congrats. One trade here and there for the last 20-30 years.SQ;1879448 wrote:Except both traded for future hall of famers in Jerome Bettis and Brett Favre? -
like_thatAlso most successful franchises that make trades are trading their players for picks more often than picks for players.

SportsAndLadyReally not sure what the argument is. Pretty sure every browns fan would love if we traded for TY Hilton. But yes, trades in the NFL usually don’t pan out for one team.
-
kizer permanenteThere isn’t an argument. Both of those two just love to pick hills to die on lol. It’s all good.

like_thatAlso, the niners just traded for Jimmy G. Only gave up a 2nd round. Where the fuck were Sashi & Company for this one?

Fire Everyone. Burn the entire facility to the ground. Hire them back, fire them again. Fucking travesty.like_that;1879467 wrote:Also, the niners just traded for Jimmy G. Only gave up a 2nd round. Where the fuck were Sashi & Company for this one? -

Does this surprise anyone? Does anyone REALLY think the "Kings of the SPARQ Score" are going to admit they were wrong and trade for Jimmy G? Doing that admits they crashed and burned on the Kizer selection and that the experiment with him is over. These guys have to be the smartest guys in the room to say "I told you so" if their guy pans out. I'm counting off the days until these fucking clowns are gone.Commander of Awesome;1879480 wrote:Fire Everyone. Burn the entire facility to the ground. Hire them back, fire them again. The only "bright" side here is that the market just thinned out for Kirk Cousins who Shanahan supposedly wanted. I doubt Washington resigns him. Both he and Alex Smith will likely be available. Are either of these guys franchise saviors? Doubt it but I like them both more than anything in this coming draft. -

good lord, it's no wonder this organization isn't even worth defending anymore...patheticlike_that;1879467 wrote:Also, the niners just traded for Jimmy G. Only gave up a 2nd round. Where the fuck were Sashi & Company for this one? -

I believe, as they say in baseball, "three strikes (Wentz/Watson/Garoppolo) and you're out." These idiots wouldn't know a QB if it came up to them and slapped them in the face.vball10set;1879490 wrote:good lord, it's no wonder this organization isn't even worth defending anymore...pathetic -
like_thatYeah Jimmy G is pretty much the final straw. You’re telling me the Browns couldn’t have thrown in their 2nd round pick (most likely projected to be better) for Jimmy G? They have fucking 3 of them. Hell throw in a 5th round pick for extra measure. I’m always wary trading with the Pats, but a 2nd round pick(when they have 3), for a chance at a franchise QB and they sit on their asses? Smfh
The only thing I can think of is Bill legitimately hates the Browns or he didn’t want to trade Jimmy in the AFC just in case he pans out. I’m grasping for excuses. This is a complete joke. -

I bet we never find out the real story but this has to be their arrogance (afraid to admit they were wrong on Kizer). From everything we heard about 6 months ago, this regime was all about Garoppolo and now they have the chance to get him and pass? Hue Jackson is NOT a great coach but, if I'm him, I'm ready to quit. He supposedly wanted Wentz, Goff (not possible), Watson & Garoppolo and they went after none.like_that;1879493 wrote:Yeah Jimmy G is pretty much the final straw. SportsAndLadyNever been more pissed being a browns fan. I’ll never not watch, but at this point I might be a “browns game in the background while I watch actual nfl games” kind of fan, and I’m sure as shit done spending $100+ every Sunday at a browns bar watching these guys.
Until they actually show they’re interested in getting a franchise QB, I’m not gonna spend anymore money on them. -

I constantly have this heated/friendly debate with one of my co-owners at my company about the QB situation. I keep telling him until they get that franchise guy it doesn't matter. He's of the "they have so many holes, they need to build the team (specifically defense)" belief. One of those "it doesn't matter about the QB if the rest of the team sucks" type.SportsAndLady;1879498 wrote:Never been more pissed being a browns fan. Carson Wentz has made a shitty 3-13 team, that Chip Kelly ran into the ground, into a 7-1 team. His receivers were dog crap and he's made them better. Like Wentz, I firmly believe that if the Browns had a legit QB, talent would actually want to sign here in FA. Eagles get a guy that looks the part and, presto, weapons want to sign with Philly. Not. That. Complicated. -
