  We say this every two years since we hire a new coach at that rate. At the end of the day there are only 32 HC jobs. It really doesn't matter until we find a FO that can actually draft. We have the picks, we just need somebody who can hit on more than 1 out of every 15 picks.

  Maybe McDaniels has been humbled since his HC experience with Denver, but he always came off as an immature rat fuck needledick to me. He has been under Bill Belichick for 13 years of his NFL coaching career. One would hope he has picked up some valuable lessons.

  It's a shame because the defense played well enough to win yesterday and there's something to build off of there. Offense is a total clusterfuck/abortion, along with the man running it. Completely sucked that JT went down with that injury.
  
  I've heard the saying that "London's where coaches go to die." Many make the trip as the HC but they don't come back in that role. Minny in London could be Hue's last game.

  I've tried to hold back on this Wentz stuff for as long as possible but the front office, here in Cleveland, should be fired today. I think it was Depodesta who said "we didn't see Wentz as a top 20 (or 25?) prospect in that draft." They pass on Wentz, then they pass on Watson (who I really didn't want) and it sounds like Hue supposedly wanted both of them. I'm not firing Hue until I see him given some talent to put on the field. I AM getting rid of these clowns who keep trading down, and trading down, stockpiling picks. The old argument of "well Wentz would've sucked in this offense" doesn't fly with me as I believe talented (see NOT Kenny Britt) WR's would come here if they had a legit QB.
  
  Also sucks that Sunday may have been Joe Thomas' last game. Sounds like he's unsure whether he's coming back. Shitty way to go out, if that's the case. Already hearing talk about him potentially joining the front office, at some point.

  Can't speak for others but you can look back in my posting history. I was a Wentz guy all along but didn't "boo hoo" when they traded out of the pick. I thought he could be good but had no idea he'd be this good.

  Like I said, I had no idea he'd be THIS good. Coming from a small school, there's obviously skepticism about the level of competition coming out.
  
  It's sucks to use the old "hindsight" glasses but I'm starting to really dislike this front office more & more on a daily basis. I get the metrics/analytics/Moneyball thing but it's as if Sashi is afraid to pull the trigger on a QB high in the draft because he knows his future will be tied to it. Keep trading down, take the safe pick and use the old "but we're building for the future" bullshit.

  I remember telling you guys you can see “it” with Wentz. He had his hiccups sure, but you could see he was going to be a good QB. Didn’t know he’d be an MVP candidate this soon into his career, but he just had something that you knew would turn him into a good qb.

And when all these other teams are offering you VERY good offers to trade for Wentz, don’t you think they’d be smart enough to maybe re evaluate Wentz and see what they’re missing? I mean I don’t know jack fucking shit about evaluating nfl talent but I could see Wentz was someone that could be a franchise player, but our front office couldn’t? I’m with you BR, these guys need to be fired yesterday. It’s fucking disgraceful how they could miss on so many decisions.

  The logic fallacy (his, not yours) with that is that there’s no such thing as a safe pick. He actually has worse odds to hit on a mid or late first round pick than he does a top 10 pick. Sure it’s nice to get more draft picks but when you can’t draft quality players it kinda ruins the whole point of his strategy.

  TBH, I don't think they have the sack, as I mentioned, to pull the trigger on a QB that high in the draft. There obviously had to be SOME interest by this FO in Wentz. Hue Jackson and the scouting team were the ONLY team to drive through a blizzard to make it to Wentz' pro day. I think Jackson wanted both Wentz and Watson and the FO didn't have the balls to pull the trigger because if that QB crashed and burned, their necks would be on the line. Easier to just trade down, grab a QB that is considered "value" (Kizer) and if that guy pans out, they look like geniuses. If not, "oh well, we took a shot."

  Wentz was great last night and has had his best games this year. But to be fair, he wasn't very good last year so anyone saying they knew last year he was going to be great was going off of hope. There was definitely reason to question him last year, he's erasing some doubt this year. That's why its never easy to judge rookie qb's.

  It's pretty rare for a rookie to be "lights out" their rookie season. Prescott comes to mind but I think he's more of a game manager. Without Zeke and the best O-Line in football, I'd bet his rookie season would've been similar to Wentz'. I like Prescott but if I need a game winning drive, he's way down my list of guys I want engineering it. The fact that Wentz is taking off in his 2nd year shows he gets it and has put in the work necessary to be successful. That's what you want in a young QB, progression. I'm skeptical that would happen with Kizer.

  It cracks me up when people on here continue to think that just because a QB plays well elsewhere that he'd play just as well here. Kizer may not be the answer, but I'll bet if he was on another team and doing well, these same people would be on here bitching that we missed on him too. As long as Haslam and the FO remain status quo, things will continue to suck. Period.
