2017 NFL Chatter

    I love him.

Adjustments at half (shocking, simply shocking Dick LeBeau knew Steelers tendencies)....went shorter and quicker and got ball to Antonio Brown. I️ golfed in high school, it isn’t rocket science...get it to AB or Bell most of the time in RZ and on 3rd down.

Thanks for the damn near 40 fantasy points AB.

Good, decisive win last night against a team that I don't think is particularly good, but has a good record. Had no idea how things would go, considering they played poorly Sunday and only had three days to prepare for the shit sandwich known as Thursday Night Football.

Oh, and fuck that Sky Cam bullshit.

    "Dilly Dilly"....WTF?

So what did everyone hate most about the SkyCam?? I have a few thoughts, but overall thought it went better than I expected. Some of those angles are just better off SkyCam live (Pittsburgh's first INT and the almost pick-6). Feedback to NBC has been about 60-40 against, but some of the against is because of the depth/angle/zooming they did. Curious if those who hated it (based off posts on here) have the same feedback.

On the bright side, the lines and D&D "feather" looked fucking great! Lol

I just didn’t like how you couldn’t see the wide receivers on the LOS. If it was zoomed out a bit (and they may have done that later in the game?) then I could probably get used to it. But if I can’t see where my fantasy players are on the field, I have no interest in watching random NFL games.

If I’m going to a football game in person I want to sit on the 50 yard line, not in the end zone behind the action. Watching on TV isn’t any different for me.

Well in fairness, you are 100 yards away in this scenario, not right behind them like on tv.

Yeah, we tried to force the pilots hand by putting the feather a bit further behind the LOS. This caused them to have to frame a by wider. Feedback has been generally this. People want wider and higher. And no zoom until the ball is a few yards downfield...want to let the play develop without movement of the camera

My issue was that it's one of those things that might be good for certain plays, but kind of sucks overall. Like, if a team calls a run play that goes for short yardage, I get jack shit from an angle that seems to be 50 yards behind the play where you need to be staring at the yard markers to have a clue if it was a 2, 3, 5 or whatever gain.

On a different note, anyone enjoying the NFL power struggle between Goodell and Jones?

On one side, you have an incompetent commissioner whose only saving grace is that the NFL has raked in $$$ under him. On the other hand you have an owner so incompetent at anything other than self-promotion that despite having tons of national TV games (both prime-time and the national 4 p.m. block), the "America's Team" nickname, getting regularly blown by the national media and being considered one of the (if not THE) most valuable sports franchises in the world, they still have only won a total of three playoff games since the 1996 Super Bowl.

I hope there's a way that both lose in hilariously embarrassingly fashion.

There was a completion Ben made later in the 3rd quarter on kind of a crossing pattern and I️ thought that looked good with that camera. Honestly there were plays the camera angle teetered on giving me nauseous feelings.

I️ am so accustomed to the traditional way. SkyCam threw me off several times on whether or not the pass was going to be completed...a few waaay off.

Agreed. I'm not a big fan of Jerry Jones, but Goodell is the worst.
  • Ironman92
    I️ vote with Jerry
  • friendfromlowry
    Fuck them both.
  • Ironman92
Bout to bail on these terrible games available for me to watch...Green Bay back up is moving ball downfield good on the Ravens but has thrown two terrible interceptions (one in end zone)...if he could quit eyeing the target or just throw balls away some they’d be a good team even without Rodgers....but they are not
  • friendfromlowry
I'm not going to look up how much of this is actually true or not but it seems like Cutler has been knocked out of or missed several games. Guy is such a bum. I can't believe they thought he was their best option for the season.
  • Ironman92
Redskins remain alive in WC contention by taking it to Saints in NO.

9-7 probably won’t make it but who knows how those atypical teams will finish out

Drew Brees with a fantastic 7.92 fantasy points.

I just saw they scored. I automatically assumed it was a rushing TD.
