Jets sign McCown for 1 year, $6mil, fully guaranteed.

good for him. I saw there were some big time incentives in his contract as well.
  • justincredible
Yeah, I think I read he could earn up to $7 million on top of the $6 million guaranteed. My hope is that he doesn't start a single game, but I doubt that happens.

He's going to make a nice coach some day and should be a good mentor for the Jets current QB's.

Yeah, no complaints on the signing. I just hope Hack shows something and wins the competition out of camp

It is crazy how that guy stole Brady's jersey. This has minute by minute camera and video breakdowns of how he did it.

Gosh a ruddies it is sad to read an example of the lack of appreciation for the recovery of a culturally significant artifact, captured from us by a foreign looter.

Holy crap, thought the talk of "teams having interest" was just a bunch of BS...

Sources: # Saints coach Sean Payton & Johnny Manziel were spotted together Super Bowl week, at breakfast. They discussed a return to football

Looks like Revis might go back to the Pats (with the Jets paying most of his salary) and Mangold might go to the Giants and switch to guard.

The Patriots do a lot of things right. So it surprises me that Gronk - who's barely healthy enough for football - is dicking around at Wrestlemania.

Fairly shocking news from Schefty this morning.
Tony Romo is leaving football and going into broadcasting, even with Dallas planning to release him today, sources tell @toddarcher and me.

After all the fucking bullshit speculation about Romo's destination from the beginning of last season and now...and he just retires.
  • Automatik
That's the right move. He'd get broken immediately.

Interesting. Thought for sure he was headed to Houston.
One NFL executive, however, told ESPN via text message that "Romo is now every team's emergency backup QB in case your starter gets hurt" and that those teams would have to "pay him to come out of 'retirement.'

Best part of the article. Willing to bet Romo plays in the NFL again.

There aren't that many fields that allow someone to start at the top. Two of them are prostitution and sports broadcasting.

Taking over for Simms, not sure if thy article stated that or not.

Probably about 2 yrs too late, was insane to me that any NFL team was even considering him for their starter. Wish him the best, and he can be proud of what he did in Dallas.

It has been a sad morning for me. I've always been a huge Romo fan and it sucks that he is retiring but it's the right time to do so. Can't wait to see how he does in the booth. The best thing about him leaving now is he came into the NFL as a Dallas Cowboy and he will leave as one. Thanks for all the memories Tony... the good and the bad... but mostly the good.

    Agreed, well said.

I'm also very ready for Jerry to fully move on from him. None of this lurking in the background behind Dak.
