friendfromlowryThought this was crazy but didn't want to create a separate thread. I've seen all over Twitter about how ESPN is doing some major lay-offs today. Ed Werder just announced he was let go.

Yeah it's pretty crazy. Ed was a great reporter. Always enjoyed him. I'm sure Fox Sports will scoop him up just like they do with everyone else that leaves or is let go by ESPN.friendfromlowry;1849829 wrote:Thought this was crazy but didn't want to create a separate thread. BR1986FBThat sucks for Werder considering what he and his family have gone through over the last few years.

IliketurtlesPaul Kuharsky and Scott Burnside have also posted on twitter they are being laid off. I always liked Scott Burnside and the Hockey Today Podcast. Also apparently Karl Ravech, Ryen Russillo, and Hannah Storm will have their roles reduced at ESPN. Did Russillo really do much anymore other than the Russillo & Kanell show? I know he used to do a little NBA stuff but didn't think he was anymore.

Karl Ravech? WowIliketurtles;1849835 wrote:Paul Kuharsky and Scott Burnside have also posted on twitter they are being laid off. I always liked Scott Burnside and the Hockey Today Podcast. He just recently got more TV time too. Doing basketball and I think some football games.Ironman92;1849838 wrote:Karl Ravech? Wow -

Not sure how reliable this is, but seems good for Conley if this is what happened. -

LUL you got the quote in before I deleted. I figured since almost none of those people dealt with the NFL it wasn't worth it to put it in this thread. But pretty much all their hockey guys are twitting they are part of the layoffs... and rumors are John Buccigross could be coming as well. I'm not surprise by them cutting hockey ESPN gave zero fucks about it anyway. But I've always loved Bucci one of the few left at ESPN that makes me really want to watch.Ironman92;1849838 wrote:Karl Ravech? Wow -

Yeah this pretty similar to what happened to La'el Collins. It really sucks for Conley since based on what all the witnesses are saying he didn't do anything.ironman02;1849844 wrote:http://www.nfldraftdiamonds.com/draft-diamonds-investigative-report-gareon-conley-maybe-the-victim/

Azubuike24Hopefully Jemele Hill is on the list.
-
Iliketurtles
No way that happens. Same with SAS. Bigger pipe dream than the Bengals getting a 1st rounder for AJ McCarron.Azubuike24;1849899 wrote:Hopefully Jemele Hill is on the list. -

Not anytime soonAzubuike24;1849899 wrote:Hopefully Jemele Hill is on the list. -
Ironman92Damn, on the baseball side they are letting Jayson Stark go. MLB will snag him.

IliketurtlesJesus just looked at some of the other names that came out when I was at lunch... Dana O'Neil, Trent Dilfer, Danny Kanell, and Jayson Stark (Probably the name I'm most shocked to see along with Ed Werder).
-
Raw Dawgin' itBYE DILFER! WOO

Ironman92
MLB Network has destroyed Baseball Tonight and ESPN's baseball coverage. I really like Olney and Stark is good too....but MLB has it all for baseball fans....not just about Yankees/Red Sox with some Cubs/Mets....MLB does it right and has great personalities that all bring a little something different to the table. Their in game check ins are phenomenal as they go to as it happens and then react as they are watching. Dan Plesac with Pedro Martinez is gold every timeIliketurtles;1849906 wrote:Jesus just looked at some of the other names that came out when I was at lunch... queencitybuckeyeIt's tough anytime cuts are made at an employer, but the TV-Radio business seems particularly brutal. It reminds me of the old Soviet Union where the leader dies, and he's immediately written out of the history books. I'd be surprised if you see/hear any of these names anywhere on the 4-letter. It will be as if they never existed.

Raw Dawgin' itNo one fired is a polarizing figure and won't be missed by views and readers.

iclfan2I don't understand why it is taking so long to release the results of the rape kit. It can't take 2 weeks. This chick needs prosecuted if she is lying. Gonna cost him $$
-
justincredibleI saw Ian Rapoport tweet that 3 GMs predict he'll drop to the 3rd round.

I was kinda wondering about this too. Sure would help him tonight (provided that he's actually innocent), but still no results?iclfan2;1850109 wrote:I don't understand why it is taking so long to release the results of the rape kit. It can't take 2 weeks. -

There is a massive backlog of unprocessed rape kit thanks to funding cuts motivated by a certain political party. In a normal case, it can take about 10 days for a lab to process DNA results and provide their opinion on the event.iclfan2;1850109 wrote:I don't understand why it is taking so long to release the results of the rape kit.
