No. My thoughts were that if they didn't win it last year that he wouldn't win another, going forward. The fact that they did win bought the Cavs another year, showing that they were capable of winning this year. Durant was not part of the equation though. If the Cavs don't win it this year and KD stays in Oakland, I don't see the Cavs winning another with this group, as assembled. Also keep in mind that Dan Gilbert doesn't seem to be in any rush to resign David Griffin and Griffin is a big reason they won a championship last year.

Is it just me, or did it seem like Kyrie missed a lot of shots and just put up decent numbers with volume?

I haven't seen the full box score, but even when I saw LeBron's, Love's, and Kyrie's mini stat lines, it didn't seem like any of them played a stellar game. Seems like they all missed a lot of shots.

20 turnovers to 4 turnovers. The widest margin for an NBA Finals game since turnovers were tracked.

It's not just you. I feel like Kyrie took a lot of shitty shots.

10/22 - 45.4% for Kyrie. Not really that terrible.

Plus, Chris Paul will sign with SA, making them (imo) damn near on par with GSW. But at the same time, a much better matchup for Cavs. Not even a guarantee GSW make the finals next year even if everyone returns.

Seems like it was 7/9 layups and 3/13 jumpers though. He took some quick pull-ups, which is fine when he is in the zone, but he wasn't.

Overall I agree. He played pretty well offensively. Just don't like long 2pt pull ups with 18 seconds left on the shot clock.

Maybe it was the quality of the shots. Some of them just seemed really bad shots, either because he shouldn't have taken then or because they were good percentage shots and he just didn't put them in.

Also, several of LeBron's drives in traffic were NOT strong. It seemed like he was so concerned with getting calls that he gave up on putting the shot away. It wasn't the whole game, but there were a few drives where he went up REALLY weak and didn't seem interested in finishing.

This whole game was just a mess. I really didn't see one part of the game that was categorically good. There were some that were "good-ish," but they came with some bad, too.

Does no one close out an open shooter with a hand up anymore? Drives me fucking crazy. I lost count how many times Cleveland just let them fire an open shot.

I highly doubt this happens unless CP3 wants to take a massive pay cut. Depending on who comes back next year and what the salary cap is, they only have ~11M in cap space to sign him. CP3 has a player option for $24M next year with the Clippers but he will likely decline and opt to sign a 4-year deal(He's 32 so it makes sense to get ahead of the over 36 rule) for far more than ~$11M dollars. Does CP3 really value a championship that much to forgo huge dollars? It's not like CP3 winning a ring changes his legacy.

Also wanted to add, CP3 is the NBPA President and is not going to take anything less than his market value. I don't think his market value is a max deal for 4 years but he certainly isn't worth $11M either.

Seems like anyone would be nuts to sign with the clippers for any amount of money. What a lost cause that team is.

Last night was the perfect (shit)storm for the Cavs. LBJ with 8 turnovers, Love missing point blank shots, ZERO steals, etc, etc. I don't expect to see this on Sunday or they are in big trouble.

My biggest concern is that the Cavs have been exploited for their lack of rim protection. 50+ points in the paint for GS is unacceptable. TT is their only rim protector and he's out guarding the 1-3 up top?

That's on coaching, but given the number of rebounds that guards ended up with, I still think he was one of the biggest disappointments. 0 points, 2 assists, and 4 total rebounds on 22 minutes. WTF is that?

They are just stuck in mediocrity. The core is a lot of big names that are probably overpaid and it seems every time the playoffs come around they end up losing someone to injury. I really think they need to blow it up and start over. There isn't a piece they can add that's going to put them up with the Rockets much less take on the Warriors or Spurs so something needs to be done differently.

They're a functional mess. Functional enough to have a playoff team. But too much of a mess to do anything with it.

This is just insane. You're overreacting based on game 1 loss in the finals.

The cavs winning last year bought the cavs another year? Like what the hell does that even mean?

Gilbert isn't in a rush to sign David griffin? According to who? The same sources that said TT and Kardashian are having a baby?

Lebron James is 1-7 in NBA final game 1's..if you're making statements like "if Durant stays in Oakland the cavs will never beat them" then you are grossly overreacting to 1 game.

Hopefully this post ends this discussion.

Exactly WHO said "the sky is falling?" If you look back at my posts about Game 2, I've prefaced my comments with "IF." I've never said "oh shit, the Cavs are done...series OVER." They could bounce back in Game 2 and win it but they have a lot of adjustments to make. I do stand by my other comments though.

I'm just fucking around bro! You have a negative spin to everything Cavs related, you can't deny that.
