Laley23The most frustrating portion of last night was when Love went to the bench, end of 1st/start of 2nd. Warriors missed a decent amount and Cavs were right there score wise, but couldn't get a defensive board without Love in the game. Warriors hit 2 3s and had a lay-up in that stretch (maybe more) after solid defense by Cavs, but couldn't secure rebound. Love comes back in, but down 11, and Cavs never really got back in it.

I think what you guys are saying is that the game could have been a lot worse. The warriors had 31 assists and 4 turnovers, and played lock down defense. They didn't play bad lol.BR1986FB;1856199 wrote:.
Laley's comments about the Warriors not playing that well is spot on. Yeah, they only had 4 TO's but they missed a lot of open looks that they normally wouldn't.

They were down 2-0 last year and everyone was predicting a sweep.BR1986FB;1856199 wrote:Part of the issue with TT can be blamed on Ty Lue's defensive scheme. Seriously, WTF is Thompson doing guarding the 1-3 up top? There's probably not a point guard in the league that can blow right by him. Plus, they were putting two guys on TT, trying to take away the offensive boards. Probably part of the reason that Love had so many rebounds.
Laley's comments about the Warriors not playing that well is spot on. Yeah, they only had 4 TO's but they missed a lot of open looks that they normally wouldn't.
Mike Brown, it seems, had a game plan to constantly feed KD and get his confidence up going forward.
At this point, I'm not in panic mode as Lebron teams are 1-7 in Game 1 Final's appearances. His teams seem to take a "feeling out" approach to these games. With that being said, if they don't fix some shit QUICKLY, they could be down 0-2 very quickly and then I will be in panic mode, expecting a Warriors sweep.
The Cavs played HORRIBLE last night but it remains to be seen if this is the rule or the exception to the rule. I don't believe the Warriors are THAT much better than the Cavs. The Cavs role players need to hit their shots and Lebron can't have 8 turnovers again. We also can't let them play their run and gun style of offenses, which was caused primarily by having so many turnovers. I expect Game 2 will be much closer and potentially winnable. -

Love is playing well, Kyrie is playing well, Lebron played well minus the turnovers(EIGHT!). TT was shit, Korver = shit(20 minutes 0 points), Deron = shit, (19 minutes 0 points), JR = shit(23 minutes, 3 points). The reality is the Cavs had an awful game outside of the core and even Lebron had some blemishes. It remains to be seen if this will continue in the series(I doubt it).Laley23;1856215 wrote:The most frustrating portion of last night was when Love went to the bench, end of 1st/start of 2nd. This is a bit of an overreaction after a game 1 loss, especially when you consider how weak the East is.BR1986FB;1856212 wrote:Last year, my mindset was 'Cavs have to get a title THIS year because their window will be closing and they may not get another one.' I think they could bounce back and win this series but, if they don't, I don't think we'll see another ring in Cleveland during Lebron's tenure unless they reshape the roster and bring in another legit superstar (which I don't see, because there aren't many). That's why I've had the "bask in the enjoyment of this title" mindset because it may be the only one I see in my lifetime.
They definitely didn't play poorly, but they also didn't play their best.SportsAndLady;1856218 wrote:I think what you guys are saying is that the game could have been a lot worse. The warriors had 31 assists and 4 turnovers, and played lock down defense. They didn't play bad lol. -

Don't care. If they go down 2-0 this year, they will NOT beat GS in 4 of the next 5. As you used to say....you can take that to the bank.sleeper;1856220 wrote:They were down 2-0 last year and everyone was predicting a sweep.

I wouldn't consider lebron's game last night as playing well. Whenever he turns the ball over that much, it affects the team greatly. It might not be fair to hold Lebron to those standards, but he has raised the bar and 8 turnovers is unacceptable, especially with the amount of time he has the ball every game.sleeper;1856221 wrote:Love is playing well, Kyrie is playing well, Lebron played well minus the turnovers(EIGHT!). Not really. I didn't say they wouldn't make it to the Finals. If Golden State keeps KD and their core, I don't see the Cavs beating them in the future. Sometimes I think some Cavs fans think Lebron is going to beat Father Time. He won't. He's still playing at a high level but he's not going to keep improving as he gets older.like_that;1856223 wrote:This is a bit of an overreaction after a game 1 loss, especially when you consider how weak the East is. -
Laley23LeBron and Kyrie also played horrendous defense. But yeah, what was a strength for the last few months (bench) was awful last night.

Yes, really. He won't beat father time, but he is still playing at the highest level and Kyrie is a superstar in the making. When it becomes Kyrie's team, I don't think Lebron being the #2 option is a crazy thought. It's one game, the whole landscape of the NBA isn't changing from one game or this entire series. I remember years ago everyone said the Thunder would be the class of the NBA, or the heat would go on to win 5 titles. The only real constant has been Lebron in the finals.BR1986FB;1856227 wrote:Not really. I didn't say they wouldn't make it to the Finals. Agreed on the 8 turnovers. Absolutely unacceptable. However it would help if some of the role players hit their shots or contributed meaningfully to the game.like_that;1856226 wrote:I wouldn't consider lebron's game last night as playing well. I'm not betting against Lebron James even if he goes down 3-0. I probably wouldn't even consider betting against Lebron James if they go down 4-0.BR1986FB;1856225 wrote:Don't care. Time will tell but I'll go on record that if they don't get a ring this year, Lebron won't win another in Cleveland (unless there's a major lineup overhaul).like_that;1856233 wrote:Yes, really. Also, and this is a discussion for another day, but I'll believe Curry resigns with Golden State when he does. I think he will (unfortunately) and would be crazy not to, but I just wonder if he'd consider going elsewhere.BR1986FB;1856236 wrote:Time will tell but I'll go on record that if they don't get a ring this year, Lebron won't win another in Cleveland (unless there's a major lineup overhaul). -

I think he wins 2 of the next 4 years. After 36 I think we will see some decline in his abilities.BR1986FB;1856236 wrote:Time will tell but I'll go on record that if they don't get a ring this year, Lebron won't win another in Cleveland (unless there's a major lineup overhaul).
There's no guarantee the Warriors are going to be this good year over year. They may be able to keep Durant/Curry/Green/Thompson for the next 3-4 years but their bench is going to continue to get worse. Iguodala and Livingston are their "big ticket" bench players and there's no guarantee they re-sign with the Warriors in the off season. There's also no guarantee that these players will continue to be solid bench players.
That's where the Cavs have a massive advantage. Vets are more willing to take vet mins to ring chase on a team with Lebron than any other team in the league and that's why our bench is so solid despite being maxed out on salary cap. God forbid at some point the Warriors have to deal with injuries but at this point I think you are being a little too dramatic and pessimistic about the Cavs chances now and in the future. -

No chance Curry leaves the Warriors. Durant isn't a guaranteed re-sign either because he said the same shit about the OKC Thunder and left them. Durant is purely ring chasing at this point to get that monkey off his back so if the Warriors win one of the next 2 years, I could see him pulling an LBJ and returning to OKC.friendfromlowry;1856239 wrote:Also, and this is a discussion for another day, but I'll believe Curry resigns with Golden State when he does. Some of you guys think Lebron's just going to keep playing at a higher & higher level but he's not getting any younger. If they don't win this year and don't make any major changes, while KD resigns with GS, keeping their core intact, I don't see the Cavs beating them going forward unless GS gets complacent and bored winning rings. I
n case you haven't noticed, outside of Kyrie & Love, the Cavs are a pretty old team so they don't have the window a team like GS has. -

TT is also young, so outside of 3 core players, 1 less than the Warriors, the Cavs are an old team. Warriors are also old outside of their core 4.

Commander of AwesomeHorrible game last night, LBJ played horrendous def, Curry got got and we have no one to guard KD. We can definitely play better and I expect us to. I'm not sure we win game 2, but I think we can def win game 3&4. If we lose game 3, I'll say series is over.
