NBA Champion - Cleveland Cavaliers 2016-2017 Season Thread

Sounds like Shaun Livingston's trying to poke the bear. Was asked something about Draymond's trash talking (whether it would make a difference in the series) and he said something to the effect of "we know who has the thicker skin."

Something along the lines of his shooting elbow isn't 100%, so he's wearing a sleeve on it.
AKA "Steph was hurt in the finals!!!!!!!!!!!"- 2018 Warrior fans after losing again

this will also be Mike Greenberg's excuse for the Warriors when they lose again as well--I can't stand that clown

#Cavs will win the #NBAFinals in six games, led by the best player in the world. And it won't look like an upset while it's happening.

    Go Cavs!

    Let's Go Cavs !!!

Dumbass story on the radio this morning....a local Mayfield Thursday night (only night of the week they play) softball league has games scheduled for tonight at 9:30pm. One of the players of one of the teams called the commissioner to say "this is being rescheduled, correct? The NBA Finals start tonight." The commissioners response was "the other team wants to play. You can either forfeit or contact them to see if they want to reschedule. If you call me by "x" time, you won't be assessed an umpires fee."

I guess one of the players texted the coach of the opposing team with no response. Who does this? Must be some hardcore softball players?

As a side note, no other games would fall on a Thursday until game 6, which could be a closeout game, so they'd have to deal with this again.

Would you guys just take the loss or go play softball and miss watching the game on a legit source (an Iphone is NOT a legit source, btw)?

I have a 730 (central..game starts at 8) beach volleyball game tonight that I'm trying to get out of. I'll only miss the first quarter but I really don't want to fucking go. Problem is most of our team is out tonight so I'm gonna have to go.

You're in a different situation though. You're a Cavs fan living in Chicago, correct? Most of those Chi-Town people probably don't gaf about this series and will likely watch as more casual observers.

all he does when talking about last year's series is go on about how "the Warriors win if Curry isn't hurt"...and just because he's picking the Cavs this year doesn't mean he isn't a clown.

missing the 1st qtr (or 1st half, really) is no big deal--as long as you see the 2nd half you're good to go...that's when the game gets good anyway

Yep, and not to sound like a broken drum but you never hear the Steph/Warriors nuthuggers talk about the first championship series where Love & KI were out. It's always about the "brilliant adjustments the Warriors made to dominate that series (when they decided to go small)."

Go Cavs! My crew will be back at the shithole bar where we watched all of last year's Finals wins.

Greeny isn't a clown. And he's also not a Cleveland hater. If he made those comments (I never heard it), it's a dumb comment to make for many reasons. But let's not make him out to be some cavs hater in the media. Especially when he's been saying for months that he thinks the cavs are going to beat golden state.

Correct. And yeah I wasn't trying to compare the situations other than both thatguy and I have to miss some/all of the game because of stupid intramural sports.

    True.

But it's game 1 of the NBA finals that I've been waiting almost 12 months for and I gotta miss the first quarter because of stupid beach volleyball.

Pisses me off a little lol

I didn't say he's a Cavs hater, just saying he's definitely a Warriors nut hugger (and if you haven't heard him make this comment, then you're not listening)...and sorry, but IMO, he's a clown

I have skipped out on social functions to watch Browns games, so I would easily not play this softball game.

I agree. I think the coach of the opposing team is rolling the dice, thinking they will get an easy forfeit win. I could be wrong though because I guess some people are REALLY serious about their softball.

I listen to Mike and Mike every day for an hour on my way to work and when I workout.

I've never gotten "warriors nuthugger" from him.

"Warriors nuthuggers" don't predict the warriors to lose a series in which they're favored to win in 5 games lol.
  • BR1986FB
This should be interesting. I'm hoping that Love & TT clean up on the offensive boards. Those 2nd & 3rd opportunities can be demoralizing to an opponent. Hoping Love comes up huge in this series.

I think I'm going to Brother Jimmy's for the game. A shitshow is imminent

Homage is doing something like 7 shirts for 7 days for NBA Finals moments where they're selling a shirt online for 24 hours only. They're the regular price of $32, but thought the first one they're doing is pretty cool.

Anyone read Bill Simmons article? Really good piece on the Finals and how we're heading back into the way the NBA used to be with big dog teams running the show.

IMO that is what makes this Finals completely unpredictable, these two teams are so much better than the rest no one knows how these two will matchup in a series. I know I'm younger but with every league having a salary cap most of my life and the MLB becoming much more balanced I've never seen 3 franchises just own a league
