There is some hot take talk that a millsap trade to Toronto could shift the power of the east to the raptors. Anyone buy that shit?

Just a typical ESPN article. Nothing to see there.

Not just coming from ESPN, but overall I don't get it. I felt like Toronto gave the cavs trouble for two games because Biyombo played out of his mind along with Lowry/Derozan. Even then the Cavs were close to winning those games. TT has owned millsap the last two years, so not sure how all of a sudden that makes Toronto.

Yeah I agree, I'm not too worried about Toronto. If they get Millsap, they'd be tougher. But not enough to beat Cleveland.

Speaking of trades, who do the Cavs target, if anyone? Korver would be interesting, but can't really play him in finals with his lack of defense. But Frye/Korver spotting up for LBJ and Kyrie is impossible to stop.

Lol was going to post that. Millsap is property of TT.

The only thing that would shift the power of the East is GSW and SAS being moved over.

    Don't care about any trades.

No need to target anyone. This team is too good.

Is there an expiration date on Andy's trade exception? I've never fully understood how those work.

I say target a backup pg or a wing. I'd also consider a big.

Some prefer to reheat in a skillet, but I will eat it cold.

I still think Liggins is the back up guard for the playoffs.

Damn, damon jones really letting himself go.

To my knowledge it is one year after the TPE is created. Andy's 9.6M TPE expires on 2/18, five days before the trade deadline. The Cavs can use the TPE in a trade (cant send out the TPE and a player) for a player who's salary for this year is 9.6M or lower.

Players who fit under the 9.6M TPE.

    Point Guards
    Darren Collison
    Deron Williams
    George Hill
    Jeff Teague
    Jose Calderon
    Ramon Sessions
    Sergio Rodriguez
    Brandon Jennings

    Others to consider(non PG)
    Boris Diaw
    Korver
    Gerald Henderson

ALL of these players also have a team option for next year and can easily become FA's if the Cavs don't want them to return.

    Yes to Diaw.

Rondo sucks ass, no fucking thanks. Not even if he paid us. Chalmers can also kindly GFH. Wish we hadn't played penis flickers and signed Norris Cole when we had the chance.

I don't want any new additions. Maybe a cheap big to throw around for a few minutes a night and 'enforce'.

Why sign another guard? We have a 5'9 PG future all-star who plays lights out defense and puts up baskets in garbage time.

Cole is a Free Agent now. Got cut from his Chinese Basketball Association team a month ago. Fredette and ex-Cav Jared Cunningham are two of the top 5 leading scorers there. Not sure why Cole couldn't last.

Interesting. Must have been acting like a bitch boy.

I want nothing to do with Cole or any of that trash. Seriously guys? We have the best roster in basketball even without JR Smith I'm still taking the Cavs 4-2 against the Warriors in the Finals.

Just saw in Amcio post that ESPN says that Cole is recovering from an hamstring injury.

So the three FA choices for backup at the 1 are recovering from injuries...

Chalmers with an ACL, Cole with his hamstring and Jarret Jack with torn ligaments in his knee. Go the trade route.

I don't care how good you are, being content in any profession is how you end up falling from the top. I figured you would be all about that with how successful you are according to you. If the cavs can make a roster improvement with an expiring TPE then it is a no brainer. Not sure why anyone would be opposed to making the roster stronger. It's not your money.
