NBA Champion - Cleveland Cavaliers 2016-2017 Season Thread

    Oh Cavs champs? Okay!

What are your thoughts this year? Is Lebron still the best in the world? Is KI the second coming of Lebron James? Will TT marry a Kardashian?

I'm going to give us a 60 win season and repeat NBA champs against the GSW. I can't envision any other teams meeting in the Finals and I don't bet against Lebron James.

Knicks tonight. Should be a blow out to the championship banners being raised.

2 yrs ago for LBJ/Love's homecoming it was against the knicks as well. Was also expecting a blow out and we lost, expecting similar results tonight. too much batting on the back, lazy offense, and shitty defense.

The funniest thing from that game is classy tried to tell us that Lebron couldn't handle a game of that magnitude...

Ah, yeah, the "Lebron is slipping and not so elite any more" time. That was fun.

    He's lost a step.

He's lost a step but still far and away the best player in the league.

Curry set some nice 3-point shooting records and was the clear leader on a record breaking team so the MVP situation was a little muddied the last 2 years. This year, reality should set back in and Lebron should return to his rightful place as MVP and the unanimous best player in the league.

He knows he is the best. He knows he is one of the top players of all time. His sole focus is gathering more rings. Regular season records/accolades dont mean shit unless ya bring home the gold so I think is going to preserve himself a bit during the season so he is as fresh as possible in the playoffs and then he may go off. THere is a few year window for the Cavs. He doesnt need to chase regular season accolades any longer

That was sarcasm. Some may say he lost a step, I say he just plays smarter to lessen the abuse his body takes.

Yes, he tried to compare Lebron to the angels' version of Pujols.

One thing I hope Lebron fixes is his jumper. If he gets that back it's like adding another all star on the court.

I don't thinks it's unfair to say Bron has lost a step. Thing is, even if he has lost a step, he's still the best player in the league. I agree with like_that, he "needs" to get the jumper going consistently. He won't be able to blow by guys and bully them forever.

But again, it's not like he went from Bron to a scrub. He's still phenomenal.

I disagree about the MVP thing.

Bron is the best player in the league, yeah for sure. But he doesn't need to put up crazy numbers like Westbrook or other guys will.

All he has to do is what he's be doing in the regular season and then take complete control in the playoffs/finals, like last year.

Yeah, saying he "lost a step" is one thing. He is older and obviously would be showing some wear and tear after all the regular season and postseason game, as well as large world competitions during the off-season. Classy's comments were hilariously solely due to timing because he was saying he was slipping due to results in the first few regular season games, when it was pretty obvious he was easing into the season and not in that "100% take no prisoners" mode that stars try to be in when games actually matter.

Oh I remember them lol. He's such an idiot.

Just perfect that turnaround fading jumper that MJ made unstoppable later in his career....

Reading back through to find Classy's posts....

You guys were talking mad shit about Richard Jefferson signing.

The classy posts I'm referring to were during Lebron year 1. What was said about Jefferson lol? I know a lot of us were harsh on him during the regular season. He really came thru in the playoffs and the chemistry he brought to the team with Frye is invaluable.

Basically that it was a trash signing and that he would never get off the bench. Just a roster filler.

Pretty funny to read, because without some of his play who know what would have happened. He played so well in the playoffs/finals.
