He looks A LOT like him. I've seen Jeff several times at athletic events of his kids as my school has played against his kids several times. Shaw looks like he could still pitch, especially for the Reds.

To show my age I played high school baseball against Travis Shaw's college coach.

....as he smacks a game tying HR lol

Even when Sale doesn't have his best stuff he only gives up 1 ER in 6....say hello to your AL Cy Young Winner.

King Felix will be right there. Without the walks (which are unusual), Felix is blowing the rest of MLB out of the water. 1.13 WHIP and he's 3rd in MLB in walks. Crazy.

It's just so early. Look where Arrieta came from last year to win it.

Anyone get the jayson stark trivia question right? Pretty good question.

Name the 4 active players with career 230 HRs and 184 steals

^i think I got those numbers right lol

    Arod is easy
    Beltran easy

    I think David Wright

My other guess would be Hanley but not sure on his HR total. Matt Kemp probably close.

Had the first two. David Wright was correct.
    Rollins was the last one.

I had those first two, but for whatever reason I doubted AROD only because he just went onto the DL and his said four ACTIVE players......if it was worded 4 current players then I would have been confident in AROD but Stark has a way of working a question that can eliminate an obvious answer

Rollins appeared to have hit his 230th recently. He was obviously key to the question.

    Hanley only 213 HR

Holy Hell....basically a line drive 475 ft HR to CF. bring on the StatCast for this insane HR

Well, it was a good run, but I figured Jordy Mercer wouldn't have the longest homer of the year for all that long, lol.

Kang may give it a run...love his bat

I was very pleasantly surprised by his debut last night. Especially after batting .150 over about a three-week rehab assignment in Indy, to come back and blast two in one game wasn't what I was expecting.

I believe Ortiz is on the roids.
  • Ironman92
Harper gets tossed from the dugout on a horrible call and next batter hits a walk off HR and Harper races out and celebrates and gives the ump and fired up "F U" lol...it'll be talked about. Good stuff for the rabbit ear ump

    I find this belief believable.

Good ole rabbit ears! I saw it this morning.....and the pitch to Harper and the one to the other hitter where Harper chirped and got tossed were actually strikes according to the K zone. Harpers looked terrible because of how it was caught and the catcher moving to throw out the runner.
  • Ironman92
Max Scherzer...damn he can put together games of a lifetime more often than about anyone. His "on" is about as dominating as you can get.

I saw a lot of sports media on Twitter not happy with Harper being suspended. Admittedly, I don't know a ton about baseball, so what am I missing? You cuss out the umpire (and the camera catches you) after being tossed, haven't you earned a suspension? And since he was tossed, why was he still in the dugout? Had he just not made it back to the locker room before the walk-off?
  • Mulva
I don't think swearing at an ump/ref/official is suspension worthy. A fine? Sure. But he didn't attack the guy, he just yelled at him.
  • sportswizuhrd
Didn't see or hear what Harper said but....Was it any worse than Big Papi going after an ump a few days ago? Did he get suspended?

he ran out with teammates. Broke off the celebration, pointed at umpire and said, "Hey! Fuck you!", then went back to celebrating.

Manager Dusty was tossed also but the walk off HR was literally 1 minute after ejection. Harper hadn't made it far from dugout and Dusty still in sight.

I'd like the rabbit ear ump to be fined. They get paid plenty of coin....one thing being yelled from the dugout shouldn't result in an ejection.

It was hilarious to watch live as MLB Network was currently showing it and those guys were going crazy with it.

It wasn't exactly Bill Cowher stuffing proof of a missed calls own the ref's shirt but it was great tv for a few intense seconds.
