Azubuike24Trevor Story with another HR. He's now 4 for 12 with 4 HR's. Has any player ever had their first 4 hits of a career be HR's?
-
Azubuike24GTFO with the A-Rod over Bonds argument. If you remove the PED factor, Bonds is the greatest player not named Babe Ruth, Ted Williams or Lou Gehrig. Both Bonds and Ruth played 22 seasons, and it's fair that aside from extenuating circumstances, Williams and Gehrig would have as well. It's those 4 and then a large drop-off.

Damn, if he keeps it up, Barry's records might not be safe!Classyposter58;1790695 wrote:Victor Martinez has had two pinch hit at bats this year. Both for home runs -

Yeah, but he'll never get to Alex's recordsAzubuike24;1790708 wrote:Damn, if he keeps it up, Barry's records might not be safe! -
Ironman92I won't be surprised if Carlos Correa is on the same level as Harper and Trout by the all-star break. He's Arod special
-
HereticPirates with the 3-game sweep of the Cards. Nicasio looked like he did in the preseason, K-ing 7 in 6. Only gave up one run, but that was worse than in the spring.

Hey lol he did make history. No one in MLB history has hit HR in their first two ABs as a pinch hitter. Crazier was that they were on different sides of the plateAzubuike24;1790708 wrote:Damn, if he keeps it up, Barry's records might not be safe! -
Ironman92Trevor Story (rookie Rockies SS) just hit his 6th HR
-
SportsAndLadyBrewers and Astros just ended on a called double play because of an illegal slide. Second time this year. Hate that new rule

MulvaSchwarber out for the year.

Ironman92
Colby Rasmus was the victim in that Astros loss....next game he came out and hit two monster HR....2nd one 463 ft and longest of the year so farSportsAndLady;1791115 wrote:Brewers and Astros just ended on a called double play because of an illegal slide. Second time this year. Hate that new rule -
Ironman92Dodgers, led by Trace Thompson (brother of Klay) knock 5 in the 1st against Cueto
Reds vs Orioles World Series is obvious -
Ironman92Jake Arrieta 442 ft HR
Arenado 471 ft HR -
Ironman92Story with his 7th.
Most HR in first 6 games by anyone in MLB History....and these are his first 6 ever -
Classyposter58Worst thing about April, rainouts absolutely killing your fantasy baseball team. Basically got almost no pitching and still only lost by 20 points

HereticGood, it looks like the burnt out fossil version of Verlander showed up today. Pirates up 4-1 in the top of the fourth. He's given up eight hits in 3+, four of them doubles. And, amazingly, a couple of Pirate hits were with runners in scoring position; something I worried they'd forgotten how to do after yesterday.

Azubuike24Verlander looking like 2014 (or worse) Verlander.

Reds should have demanded him in the Frazier deal with the ChiSox and Dodgers.Ironman92;1791279 wrote:Dodgers, led by Trace Thompson (brother of Klay) knock 5 in the 1st against Cueto

Lol he had a no hitter thru 6 in his last start. It was all Pittsburgh today, their hitters fouled off so many two strike pitches which wore him out earlyAzubuike24;1791408 wrote:Verlander looking like 2014 (or worse) Verlander. -

He struggled in every inning he was in. Or is he so broke-down now that he gets wore out 10 pitches into a game?Classyposter58;1791414 wrote:Lol he had a no hitter thru 6 in his last start. It was all Pittsburgh today, their hitters fouled off so many two strike pitches which wore him out early
And at best, it was a no-hitter INTO the sixth, not through six. He gave up 3 in the 6th. -
Classyposter58
No they did a great job staying in counts wearing him down to where he just couldn't get outs. His biggest struggle early in the season is almost always leaving stuff right over the heart of the plate, as the season progresses his pitches begin to move towards the corners of the zone and that's when he becomes effective.Heretic;1791424 wrote:He struggled in every inning he was in. His stuff really doesn't have that ridiculous break like some of the other elite pitchers, but he has such high RPMs on his pitches that it's very hard for batters to spot where exactly it's going to drop due to its late movement.
The second half of the year last season he had a 2.80 ERA over 103 IP so I'm not too concerned about him. My bigger worry is getting Norris healthy since Pelfrey is god damn awful in that #5 spot. He belongs in Toledo -
Ironman92Jose Altuve in his career has 166 games he went 0'fer and 237 games with multiple hits
