2016 Browns Season Thread

Every couple years there is an NFL draft with no really good QB's in it, this could be one of them, which is what a lot of us are saying.

What if after the workouts, neither of these QB's are rated/ranked very high, are you still wanting the Browns to take the best of the 2, even if he's valued as the 10th (or Lower) prospect in the draft?
Why are you so sure the DE or OLB or any other player are nfl level players? My point is we don't know who is 100% an NFL player but we might as well try for the QB, since that's what's killing us.

I mean he has every reason to be frustrated, but it still came off as whining.
With a new regime coming in, if they can move JT for a #1 pick, I pull the trigger in a heartbeat.

Yes, he's a first ballot HOFer but WTF has he done to win more games for this team? They need playmakers! It's great to have one of the best LT's in the league but what has that done for them in the standings and how many playoffs has he lead them to?

Again, it's great to have one of the best in the league at his position but by the time the Browns might be able to even say the word "playoffs", he'll either be done or no longer a contributor. Get something for him now, while he still has value.

I don't see this team being a contender any time soon and they are likely in blowup mode.

Whiney? He has been nothing but the absolute best professional since he entered the league. He spoke his mind. Not whiney, it's him speaking the truth. Get the fuck out of here with that nonsense.

We won't win until we hit on our first round picks. Qb or not, we don't have talent. That goes to the fact we can't hit on early round and mid round and late round picks.

And if we draft a qb with our second pick, and start mccown, I will literally lose my shit. If you take someone number 2, you start that mother fucker ASAP. Have mccown backing him up and coaching him up. But do not take someone and then sit him behind mccown. That's not how you learn. God damnit half you guys are retarded.

I disagree with all of this and would like you to GFY.

Joe Thomas is the fucking man. It's not on our hall of fame LT to win Super Bowls by himself. SMH.

He has absolutely taken the high road all along, and it's boiling over. The "I don't want another coach like x" type of comment toes a line between saying how it is and whining, but he has a lot bottled up in him I am sure.

Haslam wouldn't speak to reporters, Pettine walked out to an SUV and said nothing.

It toes the line between nothing. He has earned the right to say what he wants. I didn't see it as whiney. More or less speaking the truth.

Over the last 8 years the Browns have had 8 losing seasons. The rest of the AFC North has had just 3 losing seasons combined over that span.

So, if they had a chance at a Julio Jones or an Antonio Brown, in the draft, you'd rather keep JT? For someone who has been screaming "TAKE THE QB AT #2, REGARDLESS IF HE'S GOOD OR NOT, JUST TAKE THE QB !!!!!! You have it ass backwards.

And he's been in the league EIGHT years. He's not fine wine....he's more like a car that ready to go into depreciation mode. Get something while there's value if this is a blowup situation.

Your logic sucks and doesn't make any sense. No one said that QQ boy

I bet JT remains at least elite 4-5 more years

Twitter rumors from good sources (carucci on new "head of operations" and others on coach) are that Pettine is meeting at 7 with Haslam and is gone, and that a new head of football operations (not necessarily GM) is some Sashi analytic guy who is currently employed. Screams of a Scheiner hire, who I want fired. He isn't a "football" guy, and it pisses me off that he gets to make moves.

This should be the year to trade down a FEW spots... QB( Goff or Lynch or both)available at 5, 6 or 7 .... should be available if they really want one.

Yeah, lets get rid of JT. The one position we have figured out, but might as well create another hole we will have to fill. Sounds like a great idea!!! /sarcasm

    ???

What in the world was he doing at the game today then? Didn't they show him on TV? I thought I remember seeing that.

Sashi is tremendously bright, but has never scouted before, and I'm told he's never sat in on combine interviews etc. This would be bold

This would be such a fucking Browns move. Yeah lets let a guy who has never scout make our personnel decisions!

I swear, we all could manage the Browns better, even BR.

might've lost farmer, but they finally gained the QB of the future in Austin Davis. dude is a stud. no doubt he'll be a top 10 QB next year.

the pieces are in place for this team to be a contender. next year they'll be for real

Who's "QQing", LOLFAIL, PWN, Rainbow Brite? I'm obviously the exception who is a bit more forward thinking in trying to gain assets to improve this team while one of their best positions, a player of non-impact value, still has some value.

Exactly who are Roethlisberger's, Brady's and Rodger's LT's? I'll clue you in....they aren't Hall of Famers and they're winning. An elite LT isn't a necessity to win in the league.

And you guys want to give me and some of the older posters the "old guy" shit when it's you younger guys being all sentimental because "he's a Hall of Famer.....CAN'T get rid of him!?!"

I'd take an elite playmaking WR in a heartbeat and plug in a 2nd/3rd round tackle and they'd be better off.

I was wondering if something might have legitimately happened to him. Manziel sucked throwing the ball last week but I at least expected some gloating on the rushing yards from FW.

BR is a moron. I'm convinced that guy is as dumb as the idiots who have ran this franchise into the ground since '99.
