  Plus the system he is in is pretty qb friendly. It's very conservative with easy throws. I'm not sold on wentz at all.

  That's a result of having a defense that keeps them in the games. They don't need Wentz to win games for them, they just need him to not fuck up and slowly move the chains.

  I'm not talking about winning and losing. Wentz looks like he's going to be a starting QB for the eagles for a long time. He doesn't look like tom brady. But he looks good enough in his rookie season where if he improves from year to year he's going to be a good QB for the eagles.
  
  We had that option. Instead we decided to trade out of the pick for Corey Coleman and some more picks.
  
  Only the Browns. Desperate for a QB, trade out of the 2nd pick when there's a QB right there. Then get excited because we got a super good haul in return (even though we historically can't draft for shit)! Whoohoo! Yayyyyyyy

  You trade out when the guy at 2 is average at best. You trade out at 2 when you're 14 starters or more away from competing with the good teams. You trade out of 2 when you're the Browns last year

  If I thought Wentz was going to be a good QB for the Browns then not sure I could play him right now. That line and blocking schemes? Are they injured, gotten exposed or what. 40% of the Steelers sacks this season happened on Sunday. Some of it was the QB holding on too long but it was hard to watch and not fear for the QB that was in.

  I don't know that you'd be able to even see the potential in Wentz if you put him on the Browns this year. This O-Line is as bad as I've ever seen. You could have Brady out there, and he'd look like Weeden. Thomas was 100% correct in saying that they have to lie in the beds they made...they set this team back even more by letting a rag-tag o-line play.
  
  I do think Wentz has potential to be a good QB, I just don't think we'd be saying the same things about him had he been on Browns right now vs. Eagles. We'd be saying "I can't believe we drafted this bum #2, he can't even stay healthy!" (due to our god-awful line)

  Then sit Wentz for his whole rookie season. We'd see in practice that he has potential.
  
  Point is, it's tough to find hope in this regime/franchise without a starting point. Starting points in the NFL are the QB.
  
  Find a good QB, then build around him.
  
  Without a QB, we'll be last in the afc north every year like we always are.

  49ers play Jets, Bears & Rams. They could win one of those and give the Browns a two game lead in the standings in case a miracle occurs.

  Everyone forgets they were a playoff team two years ago, they traded UP to get the #2 pick and most of their issues last year were a result of the Chip Kelly offense destroying its own defense. Philadelphia thought they were a QB away from being a playoff team again and gave their new coach his QB. The Browns are about 18 positions away and gave its new head coach ammo to start filling it. I think Coleman, Kindred, Shonne Coleman, Drango, Louis will be starters and Kessler, Payton decent backups. Plus you have 3 starters you should get next year with their picks.

  They remind me so much of the winless Lions team. The Browns have to get some star players though as Detroit did or else they'll never get anywhere, we don't make the playoffs twice without Megatron, Stafford and Suh. Matt may not be the best QB ever, but even someone his caliber at QB has eluded Cleveland for nearly two decades

  The more I think about it, you are right. I change my lone choice to the bengals. Their season is lost, such a disappointment and they just lost two of their offensive leaders I can see them just packing it in from here on out.

  Why the hell is our Bye week so late in the season? This team has needed a week off and a reset for 2 months now. I just hope we get one....just one.......I dont think I can handle an 0-16. I may finally crack on my 38 year old fandom.

  The Browns are supposedly playing today. It ain't pretty. Collins gives up on a play and Haden sucks on same play, TP not in on 3rd and goal. McCown sucks. This season can't be over soon enough.
  
  In old browns news, Taylor Gabriel that we cut looks pretty good. Glad we drafted 4 wr this year and 1 is good. Sure couldn't have used help at other positions.
  I want this regime to get 3 years or so but they all make it so hard to trust the plan.
