Kudos for reading....
And if he only starts 17 games it's going to be tough to get that 220 inn I projected...and insane pitch counts it would be.

Still 1.1 per start is unreal. -
IggyPride00Arizona is not even a big market club. The sport is just swimming in an ocean of money.
Unless you are in Cleveland. -

I read in a Deadspin article about this signing that Arizona just signed a $1.5B contract with Fox Sports or something like that, so that has a lot to do with that. I don't know what Cleveland's deal is, though, so I can't compare if they have that sort of TV money to throw around.IggyPride00;1767486 wrote:Arizona is not even a big market club. Hope they rape the Dodgers. I don't want to give up chappy unless we get a great deal.wildcats20;1767890 wrote:@Ken_Rosenthal: Sources: #Dodgers in talks to acquire Aroldis Chapman from #Reds for prospects. -

sherm03Looks like it's a done deal and Chapman was traded to the Dodgers for two prospects.

wildcats202 prospects and not even really high valued.

Ironman92Damn....he'll shine in Hollywood
Glad I can say I got to go see him up close in his prime several times with my son -

With only a year left, that makes sense that they can't get a ton out of him. But he was gone at the end of the season, so might as well get SOMETHING for him.wildcats20;1768019 wrote:2 prospects and not even really high valued. -

I think the Tribe already cashed in their TV deal on Bourn & Swisher. smdhHeretic;1767491 wrote:I read in a Deadspin article about this signing that Arizona just signed a $1.5B contract with Fox Sports or something like that, so that has a lot to do with that. SportsAndLadyGod damnit. Two mid level prospects for the (arguably) best closer in baseball? Fuck!
But yeah I didn't realize he was leaving after this year so might as well get something. -
Laley23Closers just don't seem to have any value. Somewhat surprising, as you can't really win without one these days.

That doesn't fill me with hope, as this is the last year (I think) the Pirates have Melancon under contract and one rumor was that they'd trade him and move Watson into the closer role. If that's all Cincy got for Chapman, I can't imagine them getting a great deal or immediate help for Melancon, which would suck.SportsAndLady;1768038 wrote:God damnit.
