Yeah, he's just being spiteful at this point.iclfan2;1766953 wrote:Pettine can fuck right off. This is pointless and he should be fired today. What a terrible year this has been.

His presence in that building is making a toxic situation borderline nuclear.
He clearly sees he has no future in the NFL beyond that of a position coach because no one is every going to put him in a position of authority again with the shit he is pulling on the way out.
He's about as big a prick as I have ever seen in this town, and there have been quite a few. -

Because it reduces their chance to win, or increases it with the possible damage to draft position?HighRoller74;1766948 wrote:Pettine should be fired for this. Like by the end of the day. -
Belly35I was at the Monday night game ..... I'm a Browns Fan but this team in general is not a winner.
Many things separate winners and losers ... in the game of football, many times it the little things that start to produce the believing attitude of a winner.
Holding a block until the whistle blown dead ball, being blocked and getting back up to get a angle pursuit to the play (second effort), supporting each other after every play, running on a off the field with prided and accomplishment.
I watch Johnny in pre-game warm ups .. half hearted effort at best. Attitude like that as a professional does not send a message to the other players or fans that I’m proud of my team, players and city I play for. John Boy you are not that good and will never be that good ….
There are players on this team that are professional with winning mentality and it shows up on the field every game however in general most are defeated by the lack of leadership, a standards expectation of play, discipline and team/player execution at a professional level, this wears on even the better players.
The fans calling for Johnny but why… to watch another crash a burn …
This teams needs what other losing teams have done to build a winning teams era … Pitt, New England, Cinn, Panthers…
Clean house, build a winning attitude, build on what you have and expect more, drop the drama and play football or get the hell out of town, be proud of the team, coaches, other player, the city and fans. Coaches and Administration willing to stay for the long haul and build their future… new coach every 3 year is a joke, if you can pick a winning coach how the hell do you except to pick winning draft picks…
Set a standard of goals both team and players, aggressive rules to be enforced, let the players enforce those rules. No one player is bigger than the team or its other players John Boy.
When a field goal is blocked and 6 Ravens are running to the ball and no Browns are within 20 yards of those Ravens … some special team coach and professional players need to review, know and study the rule book …. Raven knew the rules the Brown was not sure … The four drunk guys two rows in front of me, knew the rules and the Browns was not sure… sad very sad.. -
BR1986FBHeard part of Pettine's presser at noon and he said the QB situation is "week to week" and that "they want to get a look at both QB's." Personally, I think either a) he's continuing punishment of JFF because I don't really think Davis "earned" this start or b) the organization has seen enough of Manziel and know he's garbage.

Its more of the fact that Manziel has never gotten a legit run at QB. Pettine is gone at the end of the year regardless, and at this point it's strictly him being Petty, and setting the franchise back further.queencitybuckeye;1766956 wrote:Because it reduces their chance to win, or increases it with the possible damage to draft position?
I don't think Manziels the answer at QB, But at this point we've barely seen enough of him to be certain. This season was over 7 weeks ago. Manziel should've started every game since then, so that we can be certain he's not the guy. -

I get the feeling the front office is somewhat behind Pettine's decision NOT to start JFF. If they weren't, I think Haslam/Farmer would've forced the issue.HighRoller74;1766965 wrote:Its more of the fact that Manziel has never gotten a legit run at QB. Al BundyDavis had more TD's and more yardage at the college level than Johnny. College stats show will be the better pro 100% of time (I have read on here). Clearly, Davis should be the starter

Commander of AwesomeWhat if Davis is actually better than JFF? Wouldn't shock me.

Absolutely. Pettine is likely gone after the season. Why (besides because Browns) would they keep letting him make counterproductive decisions.BR1986FB;1766966 wrote:I get the feeling the front office is somewhat behind Pettine's decision NOT to start JFF. or Davis is 4 inches taller and can see over the line.BR1986FB;1766964 wrote:Heard part of Pettine's presser at noon and he said the QB situation is "week to week" and that "they want to get a look at both QB's." Fundamentally, I'd venture to guess that Davis is better than Manziel. Just think JFF has more upside with his legs. I wanted to see what they had in him but, at this point, I'm pretty much done with his bullshit. It seems like his "act" is never going to end.Commander of Awesome;1766968 wrote:What if Davis is actually better than JFF? Wouldn't shock me. -
shook_17Austin Davis was cut for Case Kenum. Let that sink in. He isn't good.

I don't wish injury on anyone, but I would like to see what happens if Davis gets hurt. To what extent will Pettine go to avoid throwing Manziel out there. Maybe just forfeit the game all-together if Davis goes down?Commander of Awesome;1766941 wrote:lol
We all know Davis will get hurt and Petty Pett will go to Pryor. -

Austin Davis is being started over Johnny Manziel, a 1st round pick. Let that sink in....Johnny isn't good.shook_17;1766976 wrote:Austin Davis was cut for Case Kenum. Let that sink in. He isn't good.
Or at least they don't feel he is good. Unless Pettine has been told "you're being let go after this season", he's going to do everything in his power to try to save his job. Maybe he is "petty" but he'd be pretty fucking stupid to start a QB that he thought gave them no chance to win over one that he thought did. -
DeyDurkie5The Browns aren't good

He would go to Hartline before Pryor at this point. Maybe in a couple of weeks he might consider pryor but not with only a few practices in place since his return.Commander of Awesome;1766941 wrote:lol

Let's just create another QB controversy. What a dumbf@ck. -
Belly35To have a fire you need three elements ... sofar in this thread Johnny Boy and Pettine is the only topic of a fire storm has everyone forgot about Ray Farmer GM
Talk about .....incompetency. Some should look at this individual as the number one problem and not a solution ....
What has Farmer brought to the table that has provided stability, productivity and consistency? This clown has not stepped up to voice anything of value, opinion or reasonable solution. If anyone should be breathing down John neck it should be Farmer … hiding his ass until the smoke clears… -

Browns need to figure out who will mentor/ backup Lynch next year.HitsRus;1766984 wrote:This.

I have no idea what is going on with Petty and Bowe, but I find it hard to believe Bowe went from a serviceable WR to a bum just like that. To not see the field with 3 WRs hurt just makes me scratch my head. Not that I think Bowe is a world beater and SHOULD be playing, but you have to admit this coupled with many other playing time in consistencies with other players is just odd. Never seen anything like it before.Sonofanump;1767008 wrote:Dwayne Bowe? Oh never mind.... -
