That really isn't a good excuse. Love needs to play better and contribute more. He's one of the "Big 3" and should be able to produce more on the court without the other 2.

Confirms why we should have kept Wiggins. Love is overrated.

Baseball and football teams fight hard for the playoff berth...NBA is a different animal in that aspect and makes it difficult for me to enjoy much of the time. Over 1/2 of the teams making it could be the reason it happens.

A ton of games and a lot to ask of the body but it didn't SEEM to used to be that way.
EVERY game counts in the NFL & MLB. Not the case in the NBA.

Any team would struggle without 2 of it's top 3 players, especially when one of them is the best player in the world. The starters from last night might lose 50 games if that was the every-night lineup. Love obviously needs to play better than he did last night, but the result wasn't a surprise.

Not when all 3 of your top players are top 15 players in the league; most teams don't have a top 15 player much less 3. Miami sure as shit doesn't'.

Love is playing slightly above replacement level and that's bad news for a player with $100M+ invested.

If 18 & 11 is "slightly above replacement level", send the Cavs as many of those guys you can find for the bench.

What's his stats when Lebron is out? What's his stats when Irving is out?

Love can't carry a team anywhere. You can't run the offense through him and he can't create on his own. We are paying him like a #1 option when he is at best a #3 player and that's not smart. I'd rather have Wiggins.

Depending on who you ask these days, that's debatable. The homer in me wants to think he's still the best but he may have passed that torch to that little weasel Curry.

I'm not anti-Love like sleeper is, but I do agree id much rather have Wiggins than Love.

I'm not anti-Love either. He's not playing anywhere near the level of $100M+ player; not sure why that is debatable. Did anyone watch the Miami game? Love was the only "star" out there and was complete dog shit. Does anyone think the Cavs lose that bad with just Lebron or Irving out there? No chance.

Pretty much nobody in the NBA could carry a team when the other 4 starters are Delly, Jefferson, JR Smith, and Mozgov. LeBron is just about the only one who can. Look at Kyrie in the pre-Lebron years. He didn't carry shit. Look at Westbrook when he didn't have Durant last year, 27-28 record despite going for trip dubs every other night. Look at NOLA right now. Anthony Davis has them at 5-15.

    Why? Is it simply financial?

    1) I don't think the Big 3 have gelled as much as we thought they would.

    2) Wiggins plays lock-down defense.

    3) Wiggins got better offensively as the year went on in his rookie season. He just looks the part of a superstar.

    4) I liked the idea of Lebron coming out of his prime and "handing the team" over to Wiggins, coming into his prime.

I don't watch the Wolves enough to know, but advanced stats hated Wiggins D last year and hate it even more this year. Right now he's 413th out of 419 NBA players in defensive real plus-minus so far this season.

I don't watch a lot of wolves games although I did have them as one of my five teams last year I got every game. He is not very good at help defense..like at all. If it's just him and an offensive player one on one he can lock them. He was that way at Kansas when I watched every game of his. And I just find it hard to believe someone that athletic is that bad on defense.

I thought they were for the last 1/4 of the season last year and the first 3.25 games of the boston series until Love got hurt.

If we didn't have Love, TT would have to play 30 minutes a night. Good god would that be awful.

Agreed. The Heat struggled their first year as well.

You just can't expect 3 stars to come in and just click immediately.

Sounds like Shump & KI are close. Heard that both fully participated in practice yesterday.

You can bucket AD in the overrated category too. Kyrie in the pre-Lebron years spent a lot of time recovering from injuries and they had no second option. Kyrie is 10x the player Love is.

I didn't say win; I said be competitive. The Cavs straight got blown out against worthless Miami and Love was complete dog shit.
