I was in the group that was for the Love trade. Now, if we're talking straight up...I'd still do it, player for player. Wiggins big thing coming in was he was an athlete and all we'd need him for was a wing defender and occasional scoring. His defense...is REALLY bad. He hasn't gotten any better at all, in fact...may have regressed from college. Shooting? 30% from 3, and averaging 18/4reb/2asst. on an AWFUL Timberwolves team. Love is 16/8/2 as 3rd option.

HOWEVVA! For the amount we're paying Love, compared to what we would be paying Wiggins, allowing us more options and better players we'd be able to get...I'd be for keeping Wiggins. Still don't think it's as lopsided as some of you think. Like if we had Wiggins, we'd swept the Warriors already or something. Wiggins would not have offered anything better, probably worse than what Love is.

Feel free to dig that offseason thread. I know for a fact I opposed the trade. You're not even close to being in the minority on that argument.

The reality is, when I make a prediction and it goes well(which is most of the time), no one cares. If I make one wrong prediction, everyone jumps down my throat.

The reality is, if you are betting against me, you will lose. That is fact.
Again, you were amongst the majority who didn't want to trade Wiggins. From my recollection the few who wanted to make the trade were: Benny, highroller, and maybe Ohio bucks, but not 100% sure on that.

Before or after he says he's going to punch you in the mouth for disagreeing with him?

Reading through some of the threads, I will concede that most people were skeptical of the trade for Love and did not want to move Wiggins.

With the above said, S&L and I were the ones who were most against it from the beginning and all the way through the final trade outcome.

    How do you measure that?

Also should have added the context to it as well. This was before the season where Curry went on to win back to back MVPs and a championship(and a good chance at winning another championship).

Wade? Missed the playoffs that year and ended up as a 7 seed this year. LOL

Consistent outright rejection of the trade. A lot of people, other than us two, hedged on the trade.

I also was the only one who called out Love for what he is and have now been proven right; an overpaid stat stuffer on a bad team.

I was waiting to see how you'd spin it so you could be a told ya so chestthumper

The reality is, once people accept my basketball knowledge as gospel I will move away from thumping my chest.

I am wrong on occasion but I am correct far more often.

Does anyone really want to take the other side of that bet?

I will because I think the Cavs will have a hard time finding someone to take him (that will yield anything worth a shit in return).

There is so much bad money on this roster it's nuts. Think about this, FOUR PLAYERS (TT, Love, Irving, and Shumpert) have deals past the end of this season. 3 of those deals (Shumpert, Love, TT) are not returning much for the investment. In total though, the 4 contracts tie up $66.1MM and $70.5MM over the next 2 seasons. Gilbert can't like what he's paying for at the moment. I just think GM Lebron is not working, that man is a basketball GOD, but he's been the most successful when he had no say in personnel decisions.

That being said, I just hope we pull out the comeback and get a fucking title NOW.

Well I hate to say it but I agree with you. The only hindrance to moving Love is his contract is outweighing his production. I'll counter with two points: 1) Love's deal is cheap compared to the new max that is coming with the increased salary cap. 2) Teams may believe Love is not in the correct system and can return to top tier form once he joins a better system.

Agreed on TT and Shumpert being bad money. I won't consider Irving bad money.

If Irving wants to play hero ball for an entire 4th qtr with the game hanging in the balance, we will lose to GS every time. He is a good player, but the mental aspect of the game is lacking during stretches of time that are simply baffling. Unfortunately the coach does little about it, it seems. Popovich would be going ballistic; it simply would not happen. James can have similar funks devoid of reason. I don't think JR even sniffed a shot in the 4th qtr. I don't think investing 3 more hours from 9-midnight is worth it.

    100% blame that on Lue.

I know the Cavs have a handshake agreement to pay Lue a ton of money to coach at the end of the year but I'd honestly cut him.

Sleeper....do you think Love was ever a top 5 NBA player?

I think he had a season or two that would justify him being a top 5 player. He has regressed heavily even before he was traded to the Cavs.

I didn't like the trade but tried to remain optimistic and with a wish for Love to prove me wrong. He failed and proved me right.

Interestingly enough, I remember S&L being vehemently against it, with you hedging back and forth with a "let's wait and see" attitude...hmmmm

Feel free to read through the various threads. My stance was never "let's wait and see"; it was more "I hope I'm wrong but Love is garbage".

I guess we will see once the season starts. My prediction is Love turns out to be what I thought he was in Minnesota, slightly above average player who padded stats on a bad team.

    Again, I hope I'm wrong.

    Just for fun:

Anyways, no one on here thinks he belongs in Cleveland next year do they?
