Ironman92Wondering how many shots you'd give me on a side...

Lets just say I would not be scared to play someone hitting from the Reds. Not someone of your old ageTiernan;1736677 wrote:Durkie what golf or athletic ability could you possibly have? I'd beat you like a rented mule. -
TiernanOnce again we have another dipshit that doesn't know the difference between Reds & Senior tees (they are usually Gold) but if a course doesn't have them we play from the Whites or whatever fucking color the Member tees are. You can pretty much guesstimate any douchebag's golf ability by his total lack of knowledge of the game. My strong guess is Durkie you have never sniffed the southside of 100. I shot 79 yesterday from Whites on a course with a 121 Slope...and I'm sure you have no fucking idea what that means.

Now Zwick sounds like a single digit golfer and I have to admit I've lost yards over the years so it's competitive compensation to give me the forward tees. I'd love to play S&L, Like_that, COA and Lowrey. I'll play from wherever ladies and give you five a side.
I don't give anyone strokes til i see their GHIN number. If you don't have one, then you're just a recreational golfer. -
bases_loadedCan someone explain how handicaps are figured? I downloaded an app to start tracking my rounds as this year I decided to start taking golf more serious. I only track rounds where its "no touchy" and from the tips so I have about 9 rounds in so far. Low being 75...high 90....most in the 82-85 range. Says my HCP is 7.4. Of 9 rounds how many is it counting?

Sounds like your average score is around 79-80 if you are on a Par 72 course.bases_loaded;1736701 wrote:Can someone explain how handicaps are figured? bases_loadedaverage score is 82.8 if I add up all the rounds and divide by 9

Official handicaps aren't so much of an average, as much as weighing your potential. They look at at least 5, then your last 20. Then take the lowest 10 of the last 20. Each course is weighted differently by its slope and course rating. The formula is your score minus the course rating, multiplied by 113, then divided by the slope rating. Your handicap will always be lower than your average.bases_loaded;1736701 wrote:Can someone explain how handicaps are figured? also your score wont count like a 10 on a par 5. It will only give you a 7 or whatever your handicap allows the most to take on a hole. -
ZWICK 4 PREZlike my last 20 are.. 79,82,82,81,76,83,81,76,80,77,82,77,82,75,81,78,79,77,84,81
my average would be a 7.65, but my handicap is a 5.4 right now when you take the lowest 10 and course rating and slope rating. -
ZWICK 4 PREZThe best way of doing it is asking the course you play at for a GHIN membership and either entering your score after the round there or at home.

Well i only pretty much play one course anymore so I don't have many variances in scores like when i used to play a bunch of different tracks. Of those 20, only 1 score is not from the home club, and that was the 78 at Congressional Memorial Day.Ironman92;1736710 wrote:Good consistency...do you ever get bored with it? -
wildcats20Thegrint.com is a good, free way of getting an "official" handicap. It's good enough to play in a few big money outings here in Columbus, so it's good enough for me.
-
wildcats20Also has an app that will track your rounds and some stats, if you're into that sort of thing. I've been using it for 3 years now.

After college I always played the same course and seemed like I shot the same on front and back almost everyday....even now I usually don't even get out until July and stop playing in mid August...after that first round it's still the same damn scores almost every day. Gets monotonous as I get older. But then again some of those guys I play with are out everyday and they'll be 78, then 80 then 79 and then shoot a 91. I've never had that high end problem but my low end game doesn't come around often enough to keep my playing very much...and I know they go hand in hand.ZWICK 4 PREZ;1736711 wrote:Well i only pretty much play one course anymore so I don't have many variances in scores like when i used to play a bunch of different tracks. I used to be able to throw in some 60's numbers now and then when I was single and played 5 times a week. Now, as you see, mid 70's is the lowest I see and usually hover around 80.Ironman92;1736716 wrote:After college I always played the same course and seemed like I shot the same on front and back almost everyday....even now I usually don't even get out until July and stop playing in mid August...after that first round it's still the same damn scores almost every day. TiernanWe like to rotate with four clubs here in Central OH that have reciprocity with each other. I hate playing the same ol' same ol' everyday. Currently carrying a 12.4 which means I'm still whipping most of the deadwood on this site. Challenge still stands Zwickster...you tips, me seniors...match play $10 /hole.

Got any proof of that? Since I'm sure you don't, it's just another "Tiernan blowing smoke out of his ass" lie, on par with New Orleans.Tiernan;1736724 wrote:Currently carrying a 12.4 .

Come out to Arizona and I'll be more than pleased to take you on for $1000/hole. When that depletes your life savings, I won't feel bad. -
Ironman92Should meet somewhere in the middle...say Albuquerque ?
