Not as bad as bases. He was getting very butt hurt about it and even came on the Titans/Browns thread (when the brown were down 4 tds) to brag about how he was right about Tate LOL.

and I thought Marshall Faulk would be a flop in the NFL because he only played at San Diego State.....

Fortunately, Weeden was never good enough to brag about. He had a solid "flip" but his flag dodging skills were lacking.

I'm here to say I was wrong about Ben Tate. He handled things like a lil bitch and he's gone. Still think he was the most complete back, but hurt feelz got in the way I guess.

My fear, if they were to let Hoyer walk (I think they may franchise him) is that Manziel comes in, is a dud, and they are back to looking for a QB again.
This is why I was riding the play Johnny bandwagon so hard.

8-8/9-7 to me accomplishes nothing other than feeling better than 5-11.

We know Hoyer is just good enough to win some games, but he is not the guy that will take you to that next step.

Now we have created a situation where we still don't know if Johnny can play, we have divided the fan base, and we still aren't in the playoffs most likely so we really didn't accomplish anything.

I posted before the season that was my nuclear scenario. Win just enough games that it makes getting rid of Hoyer politically difficult, but at the same time make no forward progress because we still have no idea whether Johnny can play or not. We have wasted a season essentially.

You are correct that he could bomb and we'd be back at square one, but that is why they should have been trying to figure out if he could play this season instead of wasting it with a QB they knew had no long term future with the franchise. From a long term planning perspective it just never made any sense when the payoff was only going to be an 8-8/9-7 type season.

With 2 first round picks next year in what looks to be a deep QB draft it was imperative if we accomplished nothing else this season that we knew after this year whether we should be looking at them or not.

I don't think 8-8 or 9-7 necessarily accomplishes nothing. It's obviously not the end result every team hopes for, but only 1 team wins the Super Bowl. At some point, things need to get turned around, and Hoyer's solid (although not spectacular) performance thus far has enabled them to gain some confidence and taste some success. Do I think he's a franchise QB? Heck no. Do I think Johnny is a franchise QB, though? Nope. History has shown me what happens to scrambling, Heisman-winning, college QB's. The track record isn't exactly dependable... Vince Young, Troy Smith, Terrell Pryor, Robert Griffin III.

I do hope I'm proven wrong and that Johnny is the answer for the sheer fact that we won't have to continue our search, but I do appreciate the fact that Hoyer has enabled us to be sitting at 6-4 with Atlanta, Buffalo, Cincinnati, and Carolina still on the schedule. He's certainly not winning us games, but for the most part, he's not taking us out of them (a la Mark Sanchez on Sunday anybody?)

When he was right, he was great. When he got butt hurt over lack of carries, it obviously carried into practice and then into games...and Mike Pettine canned his ass(as he should).

Hopefully the Browns get back to using that outside run they used so much against Cincy to help setup the play action. If the Browns throw the ball over 30 times, it's going to be another long game.

Which is why I don't get why they aren't running that toss sweep to JT/Bitonio's side. Had Shanahan done that against Houston, perhaps JJ Watt moves over across Thomas, since Watt is allowed to freelance. When that happens, run it to Greco/Schwartz side. If Watt moves back, go back to JT/Bitonio's side. Doesn't seem like rocket science.

Completely agree with the 30 throws. Hoyer with 30+ throws probably = loss

So the Hard Rock Rocksino in Northfield sends me free slot play which isn't very significant. It's 5 minutes from my office so I slip in there on Tuesdays and play on their dime. Usually in and out in 15 minutes.

So I'm walking toward the bathroom and who comes walking right at me tonight? Our old buddy Chuck Booms. I almost said "can I have your autograph? I know a 200 year old Manziel sack licker, just like yourself, who'd love it!"

Former #Browns @Nate13Burleson on Josh Gordon: He said I plan to lose 10-15 pounds & when I come back I’m going to tear this league up.

I think a lot of people are expecting him to tear it up, right out of the gate, not missing a beat. My expectations are kind of tempered at this point.

As COA had implied, "just a body" because he hasn't made much impact this year, but they can use all of the bodies they can get.....

RT @RapSheet (Ian Rapoport from NFL Network):
Big sigh of relief for ‪#‎Browns‬ LB Jabaal Sheard. After second opinion, no surgery is necessary on his foot. Should be back in a week or so.

True, but pff shows he plays better than I thought.

Eyes don't match what i saw last year, might be scheme based though

After I posted that and mentioned it to a couple of guys in my office, one said they were using him in a different role while the other said "he's our best pass rusher?" I thought Kruger was but it sounds like Sheard may be getting more pressures/hurries but not the sacks?

He plans to lose 10-15 pounds of the skunky Mexican but he'll still have 40-50 pounds of the good Jamaiican shit...

I'm not sure, but I don't sheard is ever close to the qb. Just not a playmaker this year

Not that I'd expect any love after last week's showing but some of these guys with their weekly game predictions are really putting it to the Browns. Not that it matters but it's interesting to see how these guys can go from NFL 'darlings" one week to a dumpster fire the next.
