Hoyer is the beneficiary of some unbelievably good luck that has helped him keep his job. He reminds me of Mr. McGoo driving his car through the construction site. Old timers like BRF will know exactly what I mean.i

That will be wonderful and may very well be true but barring injury it won't be this weekend.

True..and very sad indeed. This team will not make the playoffs with that kind of quarterback play. Like I said above, I like Kojak for a lot of things. The players play hard for this guy. But his stubborn side is killing the team's chances of making the playoffs and possibly making a run THIS YEAR.

There are plenty of Browns fans around and about that are fine with mediocrity. Because mediocrity is better than bad. Those that have the competitive juices to be the very best that they can be don't like it...at all.

They will have 10-11 wins. Only way this team does NOT make the playoffs is if the AFC has some unprecedented good records, which could happen.

Tim Tebow (also a Heisman winner) completed 66.4% for his Florida career and 67.8% his senior year. He completed 47.9% of his NFL passes during a short career.

I find it hilarious that your entire argument is based on (a) your opinion and (b) stuff that is completely irrelevant to one's ability to succeed in the NFL (college numbers and awards).

But there you go, Foot, at least Manziel apparently is having success swinging for the fences in random drunken brawls!

I want to see Manziel, in certain circumstances (i.e. red zone situations) but some of the JFF teabaggers are comical with their arguments. "Well, he was good in college," "he won a Heisman Trophy", "he beat Alabama" which equates to absolutely ZERO at the NFL level. Heard some clown spewing this shit on the radio about why Manziel should play. How about things like "he knows the playbook better than Hoyer", etc. We don't really hear those things.

Please quote where I said he would be a shitty scrambler? If you can find such a quote you win, if not you still suck at reading comprehension.

I was just refuting your claim of "75+ yards rushing per game" as it is absurd to think any QB will be doing that in the NFL.

Footwedge;1677794 wrote:ZZZZzz.... get some new material. Manziel will move the sticks when he needs to. And I don't give a shit how many yards Frantic Fran gained per game. What he did was buy a ton of time with his feet which enabled him to make a ton of plays...so much that he is now in the top 5 in passing yards in the history of the NFL. That's what Manziel will do. And...for the record. Tarkington did not have a strong arm...at all. Manziel has a much stronger arm than Tarkington had.

Young people like you have never had the pleasure of seeing good quarterback play in Cleveland....that is why you get good wood watching the 23rd rated quarterback in the league.
Do you even know how old I am? I think Kosar was pretty darn good myself.

Please answer the question, will Manziel be nearly twice as good at scrambling/running the football as the best QB runners of all time? That's the only way he gets to 75+ rush yards/gm like you stated.

That might be the dumbest thing you have ever posted, and that says a lot with some of the crap you have said.

    He is 8th, period.

In those 54 years, I have never seen receivers so wide open as I've seen this year. The best offensive play designs in 54 years. With Shanahan calling the shots, my guess would be that even Weeden would be ranked in the top 15 or better. I have never seen a pro quarterback miss so many wide open receivers.

When Johhny comes marching home this town will be electrified. Manziel will not be missing these wide open receivers. 69% completion rate in college equates to a lot better than 55% in the pros. You don't complete 69% of your passes in college if you're not accurate. Trust me. He won't. I believe that this team, with Gordon, the rookie running backs and Shanahan doing his thing the Browns will average 30 points plus....easily.

I take it you never watched Manziel in college.
Shanahan is awesome, no doubt about it.

However, the ticky tack "you can't look at a WR too hard" NFL that DBs play in this season is part of the reason WRs are so wide open. That is not just the Browns WRs that are this wide open, watch games around the league. People are saying Gilbert and Haden have been bad, but watch around the league. Compared to other CBs those two are covering freaking amazing with the new rule "emphasis".

Passing yards/game is up by nearly 15 yards (total both teams) since just last season.

and I kinda blame LeBeau as well for playing that defense the whole game. He dared and dared Tebow to beat them deep....

I would like to see better playcalling in the redzone. Why in the world you would ride Crow all the way to the redzone then decide to pass the ball is beyond me. Run the damn ball!!

But if it worked and people would praise how they sucked them in with the run and went over top for the TD. Just like in baseball for pitch calling, I think most plays can be successful if executed correctly.

My argument is pretty simple to understand. Listen up this time. A scrambling quarterback does NOT necessarily EQUATE to a running quarterback. Steve Young was good at both. But they are 2 separate things. Got it? YOU and Al Turdy apparently think that they are one and the same thing. Yes I said 75 yards a game...So what? So fuckin sorry that I exaggerated. Manziel is a scrambler...also a pretty damn good runner. But he definitely can run and move sticks. You got that? I clipped a video of Tarkenton...for people like you that never saw him play....the best scrambler in NFL history...bar none. Manziel is the closest thing I've ever seen to Tarkenton. It's really a simple thing to comprehend. Why I'm so excited about this guy is his ability to complete passes. Tark was very mediocre at Georgia throwing the ball. Package the scrambling and the arm accuracy is a rare combination. If you and others want to see this season thrown down the shitter and it will go down the shitter, keep spewing Kojak's company line in playing the undrafted, thrice cut free agent from Michigan State. I want to win this year. How you people can stomach that crud is beyond me. Again, the only logical explanation is that you have forgotten what good quarterback play actually looks like in Cleveland. My son is 26...and a Hoyer fan. Why? Because he's never seen good quarterback play in this town.

Listening to the Bull on the Fan, The same lame argument that Smog uses. But...but...but...look at the other rookie quarterbacks. Dude...Bortles, Bridgewater, Mettenberger, Carr...none of them have the abilities that Manziel has.

And this shit that he doesn't know the playbook...mind numbing.

That play still pisses me off. Shanahan likes to get too cute sometimes.

And you know he has a good grasp of the playbook how?? I think I'll take the opinions of the coaches that see him everyday over a guy basing the kids NFL success on what he did in college.

Until Manziel proves he is anything in the NFL, you can't say anything about him. He looked like shit in preseason, and that was against 3rd stringers. Also, we are 7-4. We are winning this year. So you are seeing winning football from someone not named Manziel. So basically, you are arguing nothing but nonsense.

Of course he does. The only other reason he'd be out partying at 2:30 on a travel day and being involved in a brawl would be that he has an incredible lack of character.

Maybe he was at the browns complex watching film until very late. Ever thought of that?
