Yep. I think they've hit the physical "wall." LBJ can only do so much. Does JR Smith still play for the Cavs?Midstate01;1734273 wrote:Welp... that was a real bummer. Just flat out gassed. Gotta hope that extra day off saves them.

Shump is playing tremendous defense, at least.friendfromlowry;1734276 wrote:It's getting really old watching JR Smith go out there and suck. Aside from injuries he may be the next biggest setback. Figure it out.
Edit: Just looked up Shumpert's numbers. He may be worse. -
sleeperI'm a little less confident after game 4 because I didn't expect Iggy to play as well as he has. But the silver lining in this is we found out Mozgov has a lot more to offer offensively and can be the second guy putting in 20+ points a night. Run him in the pick and roll all day and I don't believe the Warriors can stop it unless they put in Bogut is junk on the offensive end. I think our spacing was night was the worst of the finals and probably one of the worst I've seen them all series. I'm not someone who thinks leiso ball is bad but it only works if the shooters get the ball and make the shots. They don't even have to make half of them to have an impact, just hit a couple big ones when its needed most. JR and Shumpert were useless offensively last night.
Also, Lebron needs to play better. He didn't have a bad game on the stat line for most players but he needs to be in the 30's(preferably higher) for us to have a shot because the points got to come from somewhere. Lebron only took 22 shots last night which is way too low; he needs to be in the mid 30's MINIMUM because again the offense has to come from somewhere. This extra day of rest is HUGE for the Cavs especially Delly who did look exhausted; hell the whole team looks exhausted. I expect him to go into more of a beast mode in Game 5 and put us in a position to seal the deal at home in Game 6. Sticking with my prediction; CAVS IN 6. -

The problem with Mozgov in there is that you're essentially trading baskets with the Warriors. GS can't stop him but, defensively, Moz is a matador with his slow feet.sleeper;1734305 wrote:I'm a little less confident after game 4 because I didn't expect Iggy to play as well as he has. I realize that but the Cavs get into offensive lulls at inconvenient times too often so its nice having a stable way to generate points besides Lebron going into hero mode.BR1986FB;1734307 wrote:The problem with Mozgov in there is that you're essentially trading baskets with the Warriors. Yeah, I know. It would be nice if JR got his head out of his ass but I'm not expecting that to happen.sleeper;1734308 wrote:I realize that but the Cavs get into offensive lulls at inconvenient times too often so its nice having a stable way to generate points besides Lebron going into hero mode. -

He's playing really poorly. The thing is, the Cavs don't need him to score 20 a night, they just need him to hit a big 3 every once in a blue moon, especially the open ones.BR1986FB;1734309 wrote:Yeah, I know. AutomatikJR hasn't done shit since the game he went off against Atlanta.
He should get dumped this offseason when they revamp their bench. -
Dr. KnOiTaLLI truly think JR's poor body language rubbed off on others last night. It's time for LeBron to call him out, IMO. If you're not hitting shots, that doesn't mean you can't hustle, play good D, and rebound. JR too often let's his jumper affect the rest of his game, and if that's the case, he can't be on the floor. I wanted to see some Mike Miller last night. I think we could stand to throw Miller and Marion out there for 4 minutes per game just to provide a little more rest to the other guys. They're both smart players, and Marion can play some D and rebound. Not saying they should be in a major rotation, but I think they can give a couple quality minutes of rest to our main 7.

I have to agree with this. Marion and Miller are not great players but they can at least stem the tide with some shooting and some defense while we give the starters some rest.Dr. KnOiTaLL;1734322 wrote:I truly think JR's poor body language rubbed off on others last night. SportsAndLady"Let JR walk in the offseason"
"Lebron should call him out"
Give me a fucking break. It's one game that the entire team blew outside of Moz. Everyone just fucking relax and let's see what happens in game 5.

To be fair, JR has been absolute shit this entire series.SportsAndLady;1734326 wrote:"Let JR walk in the offseason"

Yes he has. But he's also been very good for the Cavs since we got him. No need to slit his throat for playing poorly in the NBA finals.like_that;1734327 wrote:To be fair, JR has been absolute shit this entire series.

Laley23Disagree with Moz on offense. They tried to dump it too him and lot and it was a train wreck. He got his buckets on rebounds, cuts and passes from others for easy lay-ups. I'm not sure he scored on a single play run for him down low or on a back down etc.

BR1986FBThey were discussing on the radio this morning how Lebron could've thrived in the low post last night. Sounds like he's not a fan of playing down there because of a) the beatings one takes and b) he can't see the whole floor/basket to distribute.

Didn't look like he had he energy to do it last night either.BR1986FB;1734334 wrote:They were discussing on the radio this morning how Lebron could've thrived in the low post last night. Laley23How could he have thrived last night more than any other night?

They were implying that when the Warriors came out "small" he could've feasted in the paint.Laley23;1734336 wrote:How could he have thrived last night more than any other night? -

Who said anything about slitting his throat? When JR came, LeBron said he would "take care of it" if JR became an issue. Yes, JR has been great, but pouting in the NBA finals and lacking effort on the defensive end because your jumper isn't dropping IS an issue. I never said LeBron should publicly embarrass him, but I hope he's definitely going to him in private and telling he that more is needed and he can't pull that crap here. There's no overreacting when it comes to a lack of effort and poor body language when you're in the NBA finals. Everyone needs to be locked in in all aspects of the game, and if his poor attitude and effort is affecting the output and mindset of others, then something needs to be said.SportsAndLady;1734330 wrote:Yes he has. FootwedgeTo all those pundits that claim Kerr has "figured it out by going small"...Cavs destroyed them on the boards and points in the paint. According to Jeff Phelps, the Cavs were 6 for 45 shooting outside of the paint. 6-45!. Anybody that thinks that's gonna happen again are idiots.
The Warriors going small does help the Warrior pace, but in no way does that give them an overall advantage.
Pluto's article this morning I thought was dead on in that Blatt MUST go 9 deep. The team has dragged ass in the 4th quarters the last 2 games. In the NBA, you have to go 9 deep. As much as I cringe at the thought of Perkins on the floor, might be a good time to let him set a few "hard screens" on the skinny prick who is the MVP of the league this year.
Miller is slow as molasses, but either he, or Marion need to play.
As for JR, I would start him and tell him to shoot the ball. Shump is hurting physically. -
sleeperNo reason to think the Warriors have the series in the bag but losing Game 4 hurt. I think the Cavs bounce back with a win in Game 5 but I agree we need to reach a bit into our bench. Even a few minutes here and there would be worth it.
