Raiders at Browns

Hoyer should have had 3 interceptions today. Its pure luck against one of the shittiest defenses in the league.Ironman92;1667338 wrote:Stats are about dead even and Raiders a decent advantage in possession but 3 turnovers to 0 is huge and Hoyer may not be great but he minimizes turnovers....so many QBs do not. -

It's ok to criticize a player when he is playing like shit. Haden at one point was rated the worst corner in the league. We all knew he was going to bounce back, as he is definitely not the worst CB in the league.Pick6;1667336 wrote:nobody this game. -

shook_17I can't believe Hoyer threw for 275 yards. When?
I dont understand the love for West from the coaching staff. Tate and the Crow are way better -

I don't know where Haden might rank among CB....but I'd take him over any CB that gets regular time for the Steelers.like_that;1667344 wrote:It's ok to criticize a player when he is playing like shit. BR1986FBHoyer did not look good. I'm glad we got the win but Hoyer's stats were no way indicative of how he played. He did not have a good game. And I'm far from a Manziel jock sniffer so don't take it as a "JFF vs Hoyer" thing. Without a rushing attack, Hoyer is not a good QB. Defense won this game. The offense plays like today against Tampa and we'll be looking at a home loss.

Yes, but we dont run this play to the left at all. And we don't mix it up. It's not working, and hasn't worked past 3 games and we keep doing it. Run it up the gut a bit. We never challenege the middle of a defense at all unless it hoyer's firing to TEs giving them concussions.Laley23;1667310 wrote:Isnt the zone blocking scheme primarily runs like that? -

Without a rushing attack, most if not all qbs are not good. Quit being so hard on the dude. He doesn't turn the ball over, we are still getting over the Mack injury, and we don't have Gordon or Cameron probably. Calm the fuck down.BR1986FB;1667391 wrote:Hoyer did not look good. IggyPride00For the love of God, is this Hoyer madness ever going to end?
He clearly is not the long term answer, and every day Johnny spends on the bench is another day spent delaying the inevitable. -

Take Hoyer's Mr. Hero sandwich out of your mouth and start dealing in reality already.DeyDurkie5;1667395 wrote:Without a rushing attack, most if not all qbs are not good. Take Manziel's tiny **** out of your mouth and enjoy the above .500 record, douche.IggyPride00;1667397 wrote:Take Hoyer's Mr. Hero sandwich out of your mouth and start dealing in reality already. -

Not hating, but Hoyer is what he is. A game manager. That's all he ever will be and he isn't the long-term option. Teams are now stacking the box to shut down the run and make Hoyer beat them. He can't do it. His weapons aren't great, but they have proven to be serviceable enough.DeyDurkie5;1667395 wrote:Without a rushing attack, most if not all qbs are not good. He did it today. So your argument is void. You want a Peyton Manning type QB in Cleveland, and it's not going to happen. Calm down and enjoy the wins. He's got a very good record as our starting QB and that's all that should be talked about.Pick6;1667403 wrote:Not hating, but Hoyer is what he is. A game manager. also..
People look shitty against teams. I mean hell, just 2 weeks ago we dominated the steelers and our offense looked unstoppable. 2 weeks later, and Steelers look unbeatable and browns look meh. It's a week by week league and as long as we continue to win, I'm happy. Everything else with fall into place. -

Not only that, but these are the worst teams in the NFL he is struggling against.Pick6;1667403 wrote:Not hating, but Hoyer is what he is. A game manager. What is it going to look like now that the book is out on him when he has to play against real competition.
He just lucked out that the book didn't get out on him until he had a run of horrid teams coming up.
The only positive I will say about him is he is the single luckiest QB in Cleveland sports history. That is impressive. -
SportsAndLadyBrowns fans are the worst

Hoyer being the starting QB with the Cleveland Browns will end.....probably not until this year is over, however.IggyPride00;1667396 wrote:For the love of God, is this Hoyer madness ever going to end?

He has never been slated to be the long-term answer....as evidenced by the unwillingness to negotiate a contract extension.
The inevitable for Manziel will eventually be in Dallas wherer Mr. Jones is still ticked off about not taking him. That may be awhile yet.
The long-term answer for the Browns is not currently on the roster. -

HitsRusI think the the thing that is lost in all of this is how the loss of Alex Mack affected the offense. Now we can't run, the QB isn't getting quite as much time to throw, and the whole thing has snowballed.
Count me in with shook17...
Crowell got two touches today, one went for 8 yards, yet we were constantly treated to West losing yardage. WTF...the guy had a shit game against the Jags, and they gave him more of the game plan????? -
Laley23Crow has to be in the doghouse for ball security. Only thing I can think of.

IggyPride00How much better would this offense look with Watkins?
Huge miss by Farmer/Pettine. Pettine whined and complained and just had to have Gilbert.
Turns out that Buffalo pick isn't even going to be that good as they are 5-3 right now and trending up.
How many times will the front office trade away the rights to draft an impact player in exchange for 2 mediocre ones as we have done multiple times now?
4 quarters does not equal a dollar when doing talent evaluation. -
Footwedge
Agreed. Nobody knew that Gilbert would be the reincarnation of Brandi McDonald. What the hell was he doing in watching the Raider receiver run right past him into the end zone? If they weren't going to take Manziel with the first pick, then they sure should have taken Sammy. The guy is dynamite and will be all pro soon enough.IggyPride00;1667449 wrote:How much better would this offense look with Watkins?

I was right in assessing Buffalo as a playoff team this year and that the draft pick was overvalued. But the real pile of vomit we have to put up with is the quarterback play week in and week out. 2 more dropped interceptions thrown right to them by Hoyer. The last 5 games the Browns will be playing teams with winning records vying for playoff positions. Gordon or no Gordon, this team cannot win with Brian Hoyer against these teams. What a shame.
On a positive note the defense is improving, albeit against some very weak competition.
