I've always gotten the feeling he's more a fan of rooting against teams/people than actually cheering for anything other than there being another beer at the back of his 30-pack that he just hasn't been able to find yet due to being alcohol-blind.

I will be honest, there are times I will root against the browns even if a win by them would be helping the steelers....

Yes, I always get a chuckle out of the continued Cleveland heartbreak, but I don't really root against them.

I save that for my top 3 despised teams. I want them to lose every game until the end of time...

    Notre Dame
    Dallas Cowboys
    Manchester United

I will be honest, that's the sign of a good rivalry with healthy hatred for each other!

I hate the Steelers but I agree more with you, that there are other teams I root harder for them to lose than Pitt:

    Notre Dame
    Michigan
    Boston (Sox, Pats, Celts)

I generally will cheer for anyone if them winning will benefit my team (or at least, cheer against the other team more loudly). With where Cleveland's been in recent years, it makes sense for me to want them to win against the Bengals or Ravens. Might not be able to bring myself to vocally root for them, but at least, in my brain, I know it's to my benefit if they do.

    100% agree.

You see that sign that the Jags mascot held up last week about how the terrible towels carry ebola?

Hey, the Steelers need to exploit this! Decimate the hell out of other teams via disease warfare and a championship is ours!

Although I worry about the ability of any NFL player to pull off this sort of stunt without fucking something up and killing off their own locker room...

Relax there, I still hate the Steelers : thumbup:. But I have a stronger hatred towards the 5 teams I listed.

The steelers can go fuck themselves.

I wish I could go to the game.

I have a crew of friends driving to Athens from NYC for homecoming, then to Cleveland for the game Sunday. I'm almost certain that trip would destroy me.

I hate Pittsburgh & Baltimore too but I don't know why those pussies over in Indianapolis always get a "pass." They should be towards the top of all of our "hate" lists because they stole the Baltimore Colts. Indy started this domino effect of putridity for the Browns.

My hatred of teams pretty much sticks with the AFC north
It would be a perfect year if the browns finished 0-16, the ravens finish 2-14 (Just enjoy when the new browns beat the old browns) and the bengals finish 4-12.

and of course the steelers in the playoffs.....

I can't blame the originator of the domino effect when the last domino to fall (sale of the Browns) was entirely avoidable if not for a scumbag.

Browns must win Sunday or their playoff hopes will be pretty much over. 0-3 in divisional games and 0-2 against Pittspuke. Virtually all tiebreakers in the shitter.

I don't know for sure, but from crunching the numbers, even if the Breowns lose this game, they can still make the playoffs

Oh My the Clevetonians steal one win with cheap shots, bounties and officials in the pocket against the lowly cellar dwelling Titans and your talking playoffs? You haven't even had your automatic 6 division losses yet. But #3 is coming Sunday.

Browns fan since 1959 so I think I understand the rivalry about as good as anyone here. I hate the Steelers but there are teams I hate more....as in that illegitimate stolen team that calls BALTIMORE home. F the Ratbirds...forever and ever.

I also went to school with the Rooney's ....Dan and Art III....who were strong advocates in the NFL for us being able to get a new team and to keep our colors and name when Modell shit on us.

Funny....those guys came to CLEVELAND for high school....never let Pittsburghers live that down ;)

I have a great story to tell regarding Art III who was there when you were there. Met him at Pitt business school. He asked me at the break if I was related to a kid who went to GA... Small world. Went to a bar afterward and he would not let me pay for any beers.
