Would make a good bench coach.

Agree. Would love him back in some sort of coaching role.

^^^^That is not out of the question with the Tribe, but the Great Giambino is weighing all his options, including trying to play another year. What is for sure, is that there is no room on the Tribe roster for him this year.

Triple agree. Would love to keep him around but if he wants to go pinch hit for somebody...I don't blame him. Great move locking up Tito, as well.

Also, no surprise but Kluber and Brantley were named finalists for the Cy Young and AL MVP.

Pardon the stupidity but have they selected the Cy Young winner yet? If they did, I completely missed it.

It's sad I can't even get excited for one of our players to have a big season and win an award.

Congrats to Kluber...great job, man. I think he's locked up for 4 years...very cheap. The tribe has a rare window of opportunity to make a few moves and really challenge. They have a pile of winning players, especially the staff, on the cheap.

Surprised he got it over Felix. Good for him
  • Laley23
Hopefully we can have another 2007 next year, Kluber and CC both finishing in the top 4(???) of the voting. That would be amazing and probably out us at the top of division.

Yessir!....Tribe has control over him thru 2018....2016-18 are arbitration years, and it would be a great time to extend him 2 years with a C.C. Sabathia type deal.

[h=2]2014 AL Cy Young[/h][h=2]Corey Kluber, Indians[/h]Corey Kluber had never received a Cy Young Award vote in any previous election. He was the fourth Indians player honored. The others: Gaylord Perry in 1972, CC Sabathia in 2007 and Cliff Lee in 2008.
It marked the second runner-up finish for Hernandez, who won the award in 2010 and finished second in 2009 to Zack Greinke.
Kluber and Hernandez were the only pitchers named to every ballot.
Ballots from two writers in each league city prior to postseason play are tabulated on a system that rewards seven points for first place, four points for second place, three points for third place, two votes for fourth place and one point for fifth place.
    Player, Team 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th Points
    Corey Kluber, Indians 17 11 2 169
    Felix Hernandez, Mariners 13 17 159

    Go Kluber! Congrats!

LOL @ Dibiasio on 92.3 this morning saying they plan on Kluber being an "Indian for life" or something to that effect.

How do you think he got the nickname "Baghdad Bob"?

I am sure in real like he's a nice guy, but the shit he has served up to fans over the years is hard to stomach at some points.

The Tribe might have "team control" over Kluber for 4 more years, but they are likely to choke/gasp when they see the kinds of arbitration numbers he will be eligible for if he continues to pitch as he did last season.

We're 4 years out and the non-Cleveland fan is already busting out the negativity. You're a fucking joke, just move to Pittsburgh already N-CF.

I will fucking ban you for that! Send him to Detroit; his postings seem suitable for being in a complete wasteland.

There was no offense intended sir, my apologies. I was only suggesting another city that despises Cleveland, as he does.

I agree Detroit would be a more suitable move.

His "woe is me" schtick might fit in with Cubs fans?

But the Cubs don't have anything against Cleveland. And N-CF is more anti-Cleveland than he's "pro"-anything.

I hope they don't care what the arbitration numbers are because they aren't interested in him 4 years from now. I don't want to see him on the roster 5 years from now.
