    I think that, or a finger injury that would keep a player out, would be the most frustrating injury to have. I mean, its just a toe but man it can keep even the toughest out of a game.
    Jack Lambert had a nasty bout of it and ended up retiring soon after.

    But yes, just sucks. Ive never had "Turf Toe" specifically, but tried to play a few basketball games on a sprained "index" toe. Didnt make it through warm-ups either time. I could play with a broken thumb after 1 week and some tape...but fuck that sprained toe that lasted like 4 weeks.

    I had turf toe my senior year of wrestling. It sucked. The doctor told me I would have been better off with a broken toe. You don't realize how important that big toe is until you injure it lol.

    Deion Sanders later in his career with the cowboys had turf toe late in the season and had a pretty good limp when he ran. I think that is the season the Cowboys lost to the Cardinals and Adrian Murell broke loose for a long long run and Deion "limping" ran past all his teammates chasing and caught Murell. I can't find video but would love to see what I remember of that play.

    They have refused to say it's classic "turf toe." Honestly though, if they can get Jones back, they can "survive" without Green and give him a good 3-4 weeks of rest.

    You're definitely a homer. Sanders was a better player.

    As far as turf toe, that can be career ending. There was a QB awhile back whose career ended due to it, I believe. Wouldn't think a toe would make that much impact.

    Woodson actually does have more pro bowl appearances and more INTs than sanders.

    Deion played two sports, apparently always missed training camp, and also was a game changer with his return skills. That puts him ahead for me. If he just focused on football, he could have been even better.

    Best CB, I think of Darrell Green first.

    Right up there with thinking any big-name hire would be thrilled to come to Oakland, despite having an old team that sucks and has incompetent ownership who looks way too much like Tommy Boy to be taken remotely seriously. I love the Raiders -- best comedy in the NFL, year in, year out.

    Rod went to Purdue and as a world class sprinter as well. Good guy, met him at an event in Ft Wayne years ago.
    He is my all time favorite steeler. I think he was one of the best all around CB's in the league in covering and tackling. Sanders was great but he would shy away from contact.
    Rod tore his ACL in week 1 vs the Lions. I was at that game when he went wide to tackle Barry Sanders and he gave him the ole okey-doke and pop goes the knee. I remember seeing Rod on the sidelines starting to jog so I thought he would be OK.

    They started 3-4 that season and it seemed like it was all lost and then they won the next 8 games. They started to spread it out with Neil Odonnel with 4-5 wide sets and reeled off like 8 wins and didnt lose again till a snowy game at Green Bay in the last game of the season. Thipgen dropped a sure, easy TD pass very late in that game that would have won it. They went onto the Super Bowl that season. That was my first playoff game when they played teh bills.
    Anwyays...Rod pleaded Coach Cowher to keep him active, and he did, all season. Didnt put him on the IR. Rod had his ACL repaired, and played a few plays in the SB loss vs the Cowboys. I remember one play Dallas tested him and he knocked it down and then started pointing to his knee and basically saying it was all fixed!

    It was sad to see him go. The steelers gave him what I felt was a fair offer after taht...an older player coming off of ACL injury when it wasnt as common as it was today. He turned it down and ended up playing a number of other seasons at safety.

    but I digress.........
