I doubt it, the call seemed proper, the problem is that the rule even exists.

"Good call, bad rule" seems to be pretty much the consensus on anything I've seen so far.

Also, his knee and elbow were down. So he was down by contact before the ball comes out. And it is very, very close to the ball crossing the plane of the goal line. Very well could have been a TD.

Really bad call. At some point a receiver evolves into a ball carrier...and then the ball carrier rules come into affect. 3 steps with clear possession should be plenty to establish yourself as a ball carrier. The elbow hit...ball down by contact.

He did not take 3 steps. He landed on the ground and then took half a step. A toe touch. His first two "steps" are no more steps than if I jump in the air and land on two feet.

I don't think that makes the overturn correct, but he certainly didn't take 3 steps.

I just hate that the interpreted the rule so poorly (imo). Dez doesnt stretch for GL, and he doesnt lose control at all. He instead makes a "football move" to try and score, and losses it for a second. Refs are given too much leeway on something like that, because Ive been reading that had they judged the stretch a "football move", its a catch. But, he didnt stretch far enough for that to be obvious...so they called it process of the catch. How is a referee allowed to make that judgement call??

Should not have been overturned either way, with all the moving parts...

Either way, a stretch for the GL shouldve been concluded as a football move. Then we dont even have to worry about the steps.

Not sure if already posted, but Richardson a healthy scratch for the Colts (LOL)

Horrible call against Daallas. A damn shame to lose a game in a bogus way like that.

With the hype that Denver has scored a TD 77% of the time in the red zone and Indy has allowed TDs 80% of the time in the RZ, I'm predicting Denver to get TDs no more than 50% of the time in the RZ today!

Knee and elbow down with possession after contact by a defender. Down by contact, Dallas ball at the half yard line.

It was just an all around horrible call.

    I agree.

It can't be down by contact because he didn't make a catch.

How is it not roughing the punter if you don't let him land??

Yeah I just flipped back and saw the replay. No idea how that wasn't roughing.
  • mhs95_06
How much room do you have to give the punt catcher with no fair catch?

    None

Punter gave no effort to put his legs down....I believe it was a well acted flop, but def deserving of the penalty....

He spun as it he drilled his extended kicking leg and coming from an angle....he ran flush into him from straight ahead, punter added the spin/fall
  • SportsAndLady
That wasn't roughing imo. 5 yard penalty was the right call

Yeah, just odd that hitting him before he even lands is only a 5 yarder. He wasn't tackled, but seems more dangerous than the typical running into...
  • Ironman92
Going back...the Indy guy going low and late on Peyton on an incomplete 3rd down to give them a 1st and eventually a TD.....not the recipe for upsetting a big boy
  • Mulva
Great catch by Allen. He was getting mauled the entire route.
  • Laley23
    Good kick Adam. Smfh.

Peyton's sucking as if wghfan's voodoo doll is working

This game strongly similar to the earlier game. Each halftime should've been 17-7 and both were 14-10.
