Congrats to Danny. First of many shutouts in a Tribe uniform.

Scattered 8 hits. 9 K's. He didn't walk anybody. Awesome.

Again when your team sells out 455 games in a row then you can talk. Until then, stfu.

Not happy about the attendance, but Cleveland fans overall (all sports) are easily 100000x better than Detroit fans. Especially Detroit fans from Toledo who act like sports didn't exist until 2006 and only show up to threads when his teams are doing well.

NW Ohio Tiger fans are the worst. Live it everyday. Biggest bandwagon jumpers out there. Half of them were Tribe fans in the late 90s.

I didn't watch the game, but did Miggy and Victor sleep in? How did Salazar not give up a bomb to one of them? That's normally a sure thing.

Win gives them 5-2 in the critical stretch. Hanging on.

Tiger fans are bad when Indians fans bring up the one thing that happened like 10 years ago, the only time your team was relevant for along stretch of time? (The 455 sell-outs)....Also-why would I think "sports" didn't start until 2006 when I can name the starting line-up of the World Champion 1968 Tigers....or the World Champion 1984 Tigers......

I was referring to classy... You would think sports didn't exist until 2006 with his dumb ass posts. The lions are all of a sudden this great franchise because they made the playoffs a few seasons ago. Without doing a google search he wouldn't be able to name anybody in Detroit's lineup during the 90s. Basically you can tell he is receiving a 5th tier education.

Like I said, I am not happy about the Indians attendance. I am sure it's a combo of all the reasons mentioned, but regardless it's pathetic for the city of Cleveland. I bring up the sell out streak, because there are plenty of franchises that are doing well, and they aren't even close to reaching that sell out steak (boston is the only fan base to do it). As I said earlier I will take Cleveland fans overall, over Detroit fans any day of the week.

If you go through life thinking Detroit and Bowling Green are the 2 best places on earth, you likely need to get out more

Lonnie Baseball had a pair of doubles yesterday that vaulted him back into the AL top 10 in hitting. The Lonald has hit in 10 of his last 11 games.

The fans leave quick when things are going bad and are slow to buy back in when things start to get better.
Last night on the reds radiocast they were talking about how they were disappointed with the attendance in the first two games with the orioles being in first place so it just isnt cleveland or KC

I know it's comparing apples to oranges and they only have a limited number of games but the Gladiators average more fans than the Tribe.

and i doubt many people call themselves big Gladiators fans or even care if they win or lose. Sort of like the Dayton Dragons, A team of the Reds. They have the longest sellout streak in sports history. It is not that there are that many Dragons fans, but ti is the place to go, the place to be, the hot thing to do. Minor league sports are getting more and more popular and yes..I lump the AFL into minor league's.
Cheaper, and they do more things to entertain the fans other than the sport itself, which in a way is sad. WHen I got to Dragon's games, or even reds games, if you just sit and listen to people around you....most arent true fans of the game. They are there as something to do (few people behind us at the reds game recently were blasting Reds ownership for trading Votto and Phillips away. They were on the DL and not playing of course so..these fans just assumed they were traded)..but I digress.

This time of year you have alot of other things to contend with. School, HS sports and of course CFB and NFL starting. True..they have always been around but that is what gets blamed for low attendance.

Oh god Cleveland fans are horrible. The whole "our team can't win more than 4 games so lets just punch everybody around me" attitude is ridiculous. And oh god congrats you sold out all those games while having basically no other pro sports team during that time lol. It was either go to Tower City or watch the Steelers or Bengals since our market can't keep a dang NFL team

Lol like I said, the little guy doesn't think sports existed pre 2006.

It's ok, let him think he lives in utopia (Toledo/Detroit). We can check back on him when he is no longer a teenager and is rotting with his 5th tier education.
  • BR1986FB
Detroit/Toledo is actually a friggin cesspool. People coming into Ohio from Toledo, Y-Town and down near WV (Steubenville area) don't get a very favorable "first impression" of the state having to drive through those shitholes.

If it bothers you (and it does me) that the Tribe's attendance is so low, ask yourself "how many games did I attend this year."...and if the answer is "zero", then don't complain about ownership not putting up any money. Ownership has put out a team that is in contention 2 years in a row, and less than 10K come out for a crucial September series where you are playing another contending team and rival.

I don't live in Ohio, otherwise I would have been to several games this year.
