Fab1bWhew!!
-
YtowngirlinflaWow what a game.
-
RotinajWOW. Cant believe they got that goal. Good shit.
-
ts1227Nice, now if they can just draw against Portugal they'll be in a good spot (a win would be better, obviously)
-
Fab1bIf they give Portugal those opportunities that won't be good. We have to tighten our defense seriously and we have to keep possession of the ball!
-
Pick6the condition apology is a sorry one. Both teams are playing in it the last I checked.
Great win, we'll need Altidore if we want to have any chance to make it out. -
I Wear PantsBradley can't disappear like that in the next few games. Good result, so-so play by us though. We need to do better at possessing the ball.

I disagree about possessing the ball. Sure we need to do better at it, but our style of play isn't to possess the ball. Those are the exact types of games we'll win.I Wear Pants;1627027 wrote:Bradley can't disappear like that in the next few games. Good result, so-so play by us though. YtowngirlinflaJurgen saying Besler has soreness and they took him out for precautionary. Hope he is okay he is a big loss.

Bradley played like shit. Hopefully it's out of his system.I Wear Pants;1627027 wrote:Bradley can't disappear like that in the next few games. Good result, so-so play by us though. We need to do better at possessing the ball. -
Laley23Both teams played in it pick6??? That's ridiculous. That's like saying I don't know why the Browns D is tired and he Broncos offense isn't,..they are both running in the same conditions lol. Come on man, you're better then that.
As for the style, you never turn down an early goal, but that did completely change the way the game was played and our strategy, and unfortunately, not for the better. But a W is a W in the WC and we are +5 on Portugal in GD. -

Sleeper's right. There's no excuse. Miami's a similar climate to Brazil right now (more oppressive in MIA right now than Natal) that the US could have trained in if they thought climate would cause an issue.Ytowngirlinfla;1627015 wrote:You don't think these conditions have everything to do with it? It's a pure lack of fitness. Weak
Edit: Like laley just said it had to do with playing style, but your players have to be prepared for that. The point of my post was climate is a non-reason. -
lhslep134Regardless, awesome win and I had a fun time watching at the patio bars on campus.
-
iclfan2Whatever the reason. If they wanna beat Portugal they can't score and then sit on their hands for 80 minutes. Need to mount some sort of attack consistently
-
slingshot4everI'm not counting on seeing Altidore play the rest of the group stage. Maybe round of 16 if we make it out of the group.
-
Midstate01fados was awesome tonight!
-
Classyposter58Passing was absolutely horrible today but thankfully two outstanding plays were all we needed. Ghana not starting Boateng was probably not the best move though

It could also be that Ghana is ridiculously fast. Hard to keep up with a team full of track stars like that in high humiditylhslep134;1627033 wrote:Sleeper's right. There's no excuse. That's a fair point. It would make more sense to criticize the lack of fitness if it happens again on Sunday against POR.Classyposter58;1627058 wrote:It could also be that Ghana is ridiculously fast. Hard to keep up with a team full of track stars like that in high humidity -
ohiobucks1I still can't barely breath. What a fucking win.

gorocks99Grant Park was awesome yesterday. Lots of fun, although I have no voice left.
Encouraging thing is that we played subpar and still got 3 points, by virtue of some (potentially overlooked?) decent defending for the most part. If we can get a bit more possession, limit the turnovers on the offensive, things will improve. Hopefully they improve enough to manage at least a tie with Portugal - at that point our chances to advance improve by a ton.
