Sounds like the cops were given the "heads up" on this but we'll see....friendfromlowry;1634687 wrote:Meaning what? He is coming back? Isn't? We should know soon? My point was, trying to make guesses based on his homes or family has gotten old. -
Dr. KnOiTaLLI just want something to happen soon. I've had a pretty unproductive work week lol

I'm assuming if true a cop is a Cavs fan and would have leaked the information if they knew.BR1986FB;1634690 wrote:Sounds like the cops were given the "heads up" on this but we'll see.... -

Benny The JetIf you weren't told anything other than "cops sent outside LeBron house", I'd assume it's to brace for bad news and protect vandalism

I doubt it. The cops aren't lawyers and this isn't libel or slander so there are no protections from releasing information.like_that;1634694 wrote:Counter argument: They were told they would be fired if they reveal any info!!!! -

They were supposedly told "for celebratory reasons." I've seen or heard this from two different people. One a tweet from an Akron Beacon Journal reporter and the second from a person who supposedly spoke with a cop outside his home asking what the commotion was about. I'm not holding this to gospel but I have no reason not to believe these people.Benny The Jet;1634695 wrote:If you weren't told anything other than "cops sent outside LeBron house", I'd assume it's to brace for bad news and protect vandalism -

Me too. But its different from 2010 where I don't think anybody will be pissed at Lebron for sticking with the Heat. I'll only be mad at our GM if he stays in Miami because of the trash trade we just executed.Benny The Jet;1634695 wrote:If you weren't told anything other than "cops sent outside LeBron house", I'd assume it's to brace for bad news and protect vandalism -
vball10setThe excitement the talk alone has generated is crazy--I can just imagine what that city will be like once he says he's coming back...wow.

Police have been asked by Lebron's camp to beef up security around his Bath Township home this evening. Reports are that it's to control celebrations. We shall see.

robj55Wasn't he supposed to sleep on it last night and speak with family about it? Wouldn't surprise me if he announced today before he leaves for Brazil.

ZWICK 4 PREZThe trade wasnt terrible reguardless... you freed up money to sign people. Whether or not people will want to sign there if Lebron isnt there is a different story.
-
BR1986FBCan they officially sign today because I just heard that he signed this morning for 3 years/$60 million?

Yeah they can. If he officially signed it would have been reported already.BR1986FB;1634710 wrote:Can they officially sign today because I just heard that he signed this morning for 3 years/$60 million? -

You traded a decent backup guard, a 2016 first round draft pick, and 2 recent first round draft picks for rights to a foreign player who will never play here and cap space. That is a garbage trade UNLESS you get Lebron. Who else is worth that on the free agent market?ZWICK 4 PREZ;1634709 wrote:The trade wasnt terrible reguardless... you freed up money to sign people. He'll just grab the mic before the championship game starts and be like, "Yo, I know you're all here for some soccer, but before the game starts, I just want you all to know where I'll be playing my game this fall!"robj55;1634708 wrote:Wasn't he supposed to sleep on it last night and speak with family about it? not any 1 person.. but its not like cleveland was 1 person away (outside of lebron) from a championship.sleeper;1634714 wrote:You traded a decent backup guard, a 2016 first round draft pick, and 2 recent first round draft picks for rights to a foreign player who will never play here and cap space. I'm thinking at this point Windy is simply toeing the ESPN "only report the Heat side" line/hoping Lebron stays for personal reasons because if Lebron leaves, he's out of a job at ESPN, guaranteed.friendfromlowry;1634680 wrote:Also, the more I listen to Windhorst, the more I can't stand him. He was on M&M this morning defending Lebron, saying he's handled everything perfectly and hasn't been leading Cleveland on. No one will never, ever convince me of that. The Lakers, Rockets, or whoever else dropped out of the Lebron sweepstakes pretty quickly because they knew they had no chance. Yet, the Cavs have been there until the final hour, trading players to clear up cap space and trying to sign his former teammates. Bottom line: I don't think those are moves you make without someone along the line hinting that you should.
Windhorst also didn't think Lebron was coming back because the Cavs just signed their coach who hasn't even coached an NBA game yet. The meathead Golic, of all people, reminded him that Spoelstra was hardly a household name when Lebron went there four years ago.
He was basically brought in to trail Lebron and the big 3. They aren't keeping him on the payroll to follow him in Cleveland.
I'm sure someone in Cleveland will hire him if Lebron comes to the Cavs, but I assume that'll be a hell of a pay cut for him. The PD gutted their newsroom last year, so his old job would even be at a low price or does not exist -

Why trade away the assets then? There isn't anyone left that would make a meaningful impact in Cleveland.ZWICK 4 PREZ;1634720 wrote:not any 1 person.. but its not like cleveland was 1 person away (outside of lebron) from a championship. -

BR1986FBAdrian Wojnarowski‏@WojYahooNBA1 minCavs pressed Celtics/Nets officials to complete paperwork on 3-way trade in last hour, needed it done "immediately." Cap space is clear now.
