Laley23Yet you think Parker is NBA ready?
Parker:
PPG: 19.1
FG%: 47.3
3PT%: 35.8
FT%: 74.8
AST: 1.2
TO: 2.3
Wiggins:
PPG: 17.4
FG%: 44.8
3PT%: 34.1
FT%: 77.5
AST: 1.2
TO: 2.3
If Jabari is polished and NBA ready, and Wiggins is raw and not reached his potential, this is an even bigger steal. I am not even TOUCHING on the defensive side of the ball, where Wiggins could be all NBA at some point, or the freakish athletic ability he posses over Parker. I am honestly shocked this was even a debate. The only guy who should have been considered is Embiid, because of the position he plays. -

I'm not saying my opinion can't be wrong. I didn't say offense couldn't be taught, I said that defense COULD be and that Wiggins wasn't a natural scorer when you compare him to the likes of Melo, Durant or Parker. YOu misread what I posted and picked out what you thought I said.GOONx19;1630585 wrote:Believe it or not, opinions can be wrong. Saying you can't teach offense but can teach defense is like saying 5-3 is 7, but it's your opinion so it can't be wrong. -
AutomatikThat's why I got a chuckle out of Parker being "more NBA ready."
IMO taking Wiggins was a no brainer. -
robj55
I think Wiggins will be better, no doubt. Just saying Parker is more ready to contribute and imo more of a sure thing. I love Wiggins' upside.Laley23;1630587 wrote:Yet you think Parker is NBA ready?

His defense is high level already. I mean the guy can fucking defend. He's lockdown already.Automatik;1630584 wrote:Every knock on Wiggins was related to effort and if his head was in the game at times, all fixable.
He's shown flashes of brilliance on both sides of the court.
His offense needs developing. But keep in mind Selfs offense is not built for stars to tear it up. I can't wait to see his improvements on offense with an nba coaching staff. This is great for me-I watched everyone of his college games and now will watch all his nba games. -

I'm very white bro lol I'm not trying to sound arrogant or anything like that, just offering a different perspective. Again, I really like Wiggins, happy for the Cavs.SportsAndLady;1630586 wrote:I am friends with a lot of black people who say a lot of stupid shit about the NBA because they think they know everything about basketball. I didn't mean Wiggins wasn't NBA ready lol Just that Parker is a little more and will have more of an immediate impact. Long term I believe Wiggins will be better.Commander of Awesome;1630596 wrote:This is a pwn post and I agree. Wiggins and it's not a debate. -
AutomatikAlso the Parker weight thing would have immediately turned me off...if true.
Blows my mind that players can even let that happen leading up to the draft. -

Remember Buford?Automatik;1630599 wrote:Also the Parker weight thing would have immediately turned me off...if true.

AutomatikNo? He show up to workouts fat? That would explain why he didn't get drafted, which I found surprising.

Laley23I mean, Im not claiming to be an expert or anything, but I watch more college basketball then almost everyone on this site (outside of a few guys, some on this thread)...to claim Wiggins isnt a scorer is frankly just wrong. They (Kansas) ran a post oriented offense, through Embiid, Black and Ellis. Wiggins has a knack for scoring, and finds the ball and puts it in. He does NOT have the take over attitude yet, as he is as humble as they come at the moment. That can be taught. When Self needed a bucket, Wiggins was often put into 1-1 and can get his shot off over almost anyone, or get to the bucket. Sorry Rob, its just wrong to say he isnt smooth or a good offensive player.
Jabari looks better, because he has more moves around the basket and in his post game. But, Jabari also was instructed to shoot the ball at will and played on a team that jacked up 867 threes in a loss to Mercer in RD1, where he went 4-14...clutch. Duke was much more geared to a guy looking great on offense, and watching both about 25 times each this year, Parker STILL didnt look that much better offensively to me, despite a system where K ran it through him on the outside and inside. -

Apparently he couldn't get through workouts, puking all over the place. Went from a mid first round guy at one point to not even drafted.Automatik;1630604 wrote:No? He show up to workouts fat? That would explain why he didn't get drafted, which I found surprising. -

Lol im friends with a lot of white people that do the same? Whats it matterSportsAndLady;1630586 wrote:I am friends with a lot of black people who say a lot of stupid shit about the NBA because they think they know everything about basketball. You sound like them. -
Laley23Lol, Randle to the Lakers. Freaking Noah Vonleh is still on the board at 8...this draft is fucking insane.

I didn't say he wasn't a scorer or couldn't score, I said he wasn't a NATURAL scorer. You have to be able to create when the shot clock is down in the NBA, he just needs to improve that aspect of his game. I don't think his handle is where it needs to be YET to be able to do that, but I think it will get there. A natural athlete like that can get good at any aspect of the game really.Laley23;1630606 wrote:I mean, Im not claiming to be an expert or anything, but I watch more college basketball then almost everyone on this site (outside of a few guys, some on this thread)...to claim Wiggins isnt a scorer is frankly just wrong. While I think you are backpedling a bit, I WILL agree with that, fair enough?robj55;1630611 wrote:I didn't say he wasn't a scorer or couldn't score, I said he wasn't a NATURAL scorer. Perhaps a bit lol Sometimes I word things wrongly. Fair though.Laley23;1630612 wrote:While I think you are backpedling a bit, I WILL agree with that, fair enough? -
KB0938Stauskas has to be one of the absolute most improved players in college basketball from his signing in college....to a top 10 Draft pick
-
Lovejoy1984LOL at the Kings.

Laley23
Back to back guys like that for the B1G. Last year was Victor Oladipo.KB0938;1630618 wrote:Stauskas has to be one of the absolute most improved players in college basketball from his signing in college....to a top 10 Draft pick -
Midstate01Stauskas going in the lottery is hilarious. He's going to get destroyed athletically.
I'm not a big vonleh fan either. I just don't see it. -
Laley23Vonleh has enormous hands, Jesus.
Glad I will be able to watch him and Cody Zeller on the Hornets now down in NC. -
robj55
he actually tested out pretty well athletically, just because he's white doesn't mean he's not athletic LOLMidstate01;1630628 wrote:Stauskas going in the lottery is hilarious. He's going to get destroyed athletically.

He is only 18...reclassified. Kid has an amazing shot for someone who is a 6-9/6-10 PF. Great handles as well, probably only behind Aaron Gordon as far as bigs go.Midstate01;1630628 wrote:Stauskas going in the lottery is hilarious. He's going to get destroyed athletically.

I agree top 3 (where some had him going) seemed weird, will be interesting to see how he develops.
