lhslep134Wow, that's sad. I think he's been battling cancer? Man, loved watching him a kid. I'll always value BA/OBP over SLG, and he's a big reason why.

One of my all-time favorites. Damn. -
Ironman92Just glance at his batting average and number of strikeouts each year. He was so damn good.

Why do we care? Nobody here ever met him and he doesn't effect our lives?SportsAndLady;1626675 wrote:Tony Gwynn dead at 54

thavoiceThat was when it was seen as 'bad' to strikeout and there was some shame to it!
TG was a fantastic hitter, no dout about that.
I kinda forgot that he had some wheels when he was younger. 5 times he stole more bases than he struck out? -
Ironman92Lorenzo Cain just made a catch in CF that I'm not sure anyone else makes

Fab1bNo hitter going in 8th for Kershaw....
-
Fab1bHe got it

Laley23That was dominance. Fucking Hanley throwing a relatively routine bouncer away. Tough play, but as much as these guys face it, routine.

Thank god I didn't face Kershaw this week in fantasy. He dropped 52 points last night. For reference, Lonnies amazing game was 27 which is incredible for a hitter and 52 is pretty much as much or more so ridiculous. I faced Beckett during his no hitter and it was "only" 41.Laley23;1627709 wrote:That was dominance. -

Advanced "stats" or whatever you want to call it has this as the 2nd best game ever for a pitcher, with a score of 102 (I think thats correct). Only Kerry Woods 20 K game is higher.lhslep134;1627733 wrote:Thank god I didn't face Kershaw this week in fantasy. He dropped 52 points last night.
