Sports do not develop character....it reveals it.

    Ethical and moral? LOL.

So, you are judging NFL players based on watching one game a year? LOL ok.

Its not like these things aren't on sportscenter or in the newspaper.

I just cannot fathom a straight guy who only watches one NFL game/year.

That is usually reserved for prissy women or fudge packing guys.

lol...do we really need to go there?

This is just one of the many reasons that I do not like professional sports at all....

i have no clue - just showing that trash talking isn't just in pro sports. It's at every level down to tball.

Now back to talking about the NFL for people who watch it more than once a year.....

Bengals sign Marvin for one more year through 2015.

Would have rather seen them wait and see how the season went. The team obviously doesn't get up for the important games, despite the talent being there. If they can't improve on seasons past, he needs to go.

I understand why Cincinnati stays quiet this time of year. They historically aren't big spenders, and have a lot of pieces in Burfict and Green, and fucking Dalton that they need to save up for. (side note: Dalton should be on the same short leash Marvin should have been on.) I'm surprised they haven't announced a multi-year extension for him, too.

They have done a good job in the draft recently so I imagine they will continue with that or wait until the frenzy is over and get a few guys to fill holes.

If the Ginja Ninja didnt piss down his leg against the Chargers..who knows what happens. It was eerily similiar lethargic effort the reds had late and in the one game playoff...

Must be in the water down there. I would have like to have seen them talk (and maybe they did and I missed it or it wasn't reported) with some defensive backs. IMO, that's their biggest weakness aside from bad Andy.

Trash talking takes away from it being a team game and puts too much of a spotlight on an individual for my taste.

That being said, I don't 'hate' players for trash talking.....it just diminishes who they are and what they represent IMO.

Let the slings and arrows come!! :)[/QUOTE

I admit I didnt know much about Sherman until the rant in that game. I think that rant had alot to do with people knowing actually who he is and how intelligent he is.
I am more of a shut up and play type of guy and dont really care for public trash talking, but if a player wants to do it on the field in a way that it doesnt bring alot of attention onto himself by watching the game, then so be it.

They say Larry Bird was one of the biggest trash talkers out there...he just did it without everyone noticing.
Larry Bird didn't hide his trash talking, at all.

Yup, he just didn't have twitter, Facebook and 24 hr sports coverage with idiots like Bayless talking about him.

Jordan was notorious for being a trash talking prima doña bitch btw.
