I won't admit the roster is terrible. Nani is gone, that is one happy spot for me. Helping out the defense is a must, and that has yet to be addressed fully by either Moyes or Van Gaal (outside of Rojo, who could go to prison). I'm not quite sure a 1-3-5-2 is the answer...three backs is awful risky for men's soccer. I'm not quite sure the personnel have the mentality to make it a 1-5-3-2 either...which is visible by Mata's defending (or lack thereof).

They are talking about him going back to the 4-4-1-2 when/if they pick up another CB. Problem is we have no right back other than Rafael who is always hurt. The 3 CB's is in place because he believes we don't have quality in the back line and that is why they used it with the Dutch. We need a holding midfielder and a CB before this window closes. If not we are fucked.

A 4-4-1-2? Is that supposed to be a 4-4-1-1? Or just a straight up 4-4-2?

No one goes with 3 CBs if there's not a quality back line. You need 3 dominate CBs if you are going to run that system AND have wingers who will play defense -- we don't have all the above. Rojo, not in stripes, will possibly help. But relying on Mata (and used to be Nani) to track back defensively is not going to happen. They'd be better off playing with some of the youngsters in there than trying to have a makeshift 3 back system.

Yeah sorry I I meant 4-4-1-1. He is quotes in saying that's why he ran the 3 cb sytem . idk we can't do it cause we don't have the personnel. I think we can pick up blind, dejong or Vidal.

Most expensive transfer deadline day (maybe window, period) for the EPL.

Not really liking the unloading of Welbeck. I wished the Cleverley and Anderson rumors were true (or woulda happened). It'll be interesting with Falcao now. Sure did need another CB...
  • SportsAndLady
Would have loved villa to grab Cleverley.

Best start for Villa in I believe 8 years, how can they not go grab a couple midfielders? Ugh

Welbeck can't finish. I think getting rid of him was a good idea. That means James Wilson can be the next striker off the bench.

Haha have fun with Cleverley. He is pure garbage. They approved his loan move.

I like the Cleverley move. He sucked at Man U but maybe he'll flourish in a new system/ team.

He was given a ton of years. He sucked under Sir Alex, Moyes and LvG. It's him not the system.

Your logic is def correct, but Cleverly sucks. At least in terms of being good enough to be on a top 5-6 EPL team. He'd be a solid low level EPL player.

New MLS logo, if you haven't seen...

    And with the Crew:

Doubt anyone cares but Charlotte is stepping up it's USL Pro team in hopes to attract an investment for MLS ala Orlando City. They had the initial press conference yesterday and kicked off a contest to select the team crest. Take a look and vote, Independence is based on the area being one of the first to declare independence from England in revolutionary times. For next season we'll be affiliated with the Colorado Rapids.

I care about it! Sucks in the shift in ownership. :( But, completely understandable.

The Charlotte Eagles are owned by MAI (Missionary Athletes International) and ran one of the most financially responsible clubs in the world. Unfortunately, it also didn't go very well for their attendance and marketing. They sold their USL Pro team rights to the ownership group of the Major League Lacrosse group that owns the Charlotte franchise.

I worked for the Eagles in my senior year of college. Loved every minute of it. Got me started in the soccer world. Still have close friends from those times. I hate losing them in the professional soccer world as they move to a PDL franchise.

That's cool OSH! At the ceremony yesterday they gave a lot of props to the Eagles and even hired Tom Engstrom to come over and be the GM of the new club. He put together competitive teams for many years with the budget of the Eagles, it'll be interesting to see how the Independence are from the start. I think the change of venue to Memorial Stadium just outside downtown will really energize the sport in Charlotte much like the minor league baseball team led triple-A in attendance after moving to the area from the burbs.

    Anyone get FIFA 15?

Not yet. Not sure if I'll stick with the 360 or get a new gen and get it then. Can't wait to get it though.
  • Automatik
I'll probably get it soon, might download the demo this weekend to try it out.

I thought about getting a PS4, but must of my friends are still playing PS3 regularly so I'm sticking with it.

What pisses me off is I'm down to one controller, and I'm a big fan of playing 2v2. Sony controllers are still pricey and I don't really want to drop $150ish for 3 of them.
